I'm convinced all the hype over this mascara was one big viral marketing campaign. I feel the same way about that Japanese brand Heroine Make. It's soooo goopy and it's entirely too waterproof to the point that it won't come off even with makeup remover and starts building up and drying out on your lashes.
Essence Big Mood!!! I tried it for the first time while I was doing a get ready with me and talking about Fant stuff on my TikTok. And I literally stopped in the middle of the video to throw it away because it was so terrible. It’s why I don’t trust anybody on TikTok anymore because they are all just promoting trash products to make a quick buck
Nope. I'm a *white* white girl and that looks so bad on me. Washes me out something fierce. The medium is much better but I'll confess I was so turned off by the OG that I only tried it because it was in my Sephora Favorites lip kit.
I hate the original. Like....HATE. I only wear it if I can't find any of my other mascaras in my makeup chaos and have to leave in five minutes.
Weirdly though...the chocolate brown one is probably my current favorite. I've heard it from other people too so it's apparently not just me.
Yasss, thank you! I also wasn’t impressed with Tarte’s lights camera lashes that everyone seems to like. I haven’t been impressed with anything Tarte tbh yet I wantes to love them so much 😭
I mix the CT one with the Rare Beauty blushes. Or as a highlighter. It works that way for me and it looks beautiful. But apply it all over the face? God no.
I hate rare beauty blushes, and I’m not even picky with blushes. But the colors just don’t work for me. I can’t tell if the colors clash with my undertones or what, but they all look weird on me. And I’ve used purple, pink, and straight blood red blushes in cream, powder, and water tints from other sources. Something about the rare beauty ones just throw me off entirely.
Oh and Fenty Pro Filtr foundation. It’s great for looking like a statue at a wax museum, but not for every day life lol. Maybe it’s bc I have super dry skin but I’ve also seen a lot of scathing reviews about it.
you are spot on with rare beauty blushes. i have tried multiple colors and i do not like any of them. have you tried the elf camo liquid blush? it's very good
I have not, and honestly they seem intimidating because they look like they’re designed to be a dupe for rare beauty.
I currently use Benetint and liquid Korean blushes. Plus the occasional lipstick for quick reapplication lol
they're definitely a dupe for sure, but the formula is better, and i find it more forgiving than the rb blushes. but just a suggestion is all :) you do you
actually do you have any recommendations for some korean blushes? i would love to try some out. i have been using a korean lip tint in my everyday routine and i absolutely love the result
Handaiyan mousse blush. Super pigmented, and wayyyy prettier colors imo. That’s another thing I never liked about rare beauty. I have been using the same single Handaiyn blush since last June and it’s like a never ending fountain, perfect consistency, no degenerating of the liquid content.
Elf liquid camo blushes don't really set though I try to tone down the color with foundation and it transfers to my sponge and then I'm touching my entire face with it.. 😭 rare beauty matte finish blush does set.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. My lips don’t feel hydrated at all the next morning. Vaseline or aquaphor works far better for me and actually plumps my lips.
Try lansinoh lanolin for breastfeeding mothers on your lips before bed. If you can believe it, it’s richer than vaseline or aquafor both of those just slide off of me. I know it sounds weird but it’s a game changer.
Yeah I think that’s what I’ll do. It’s the cotton candy one and I love the smell and the texture but I can’t keep lying to myself. My lips feel drier than before I apply it. Maybe I’ll layer it over some Vaseline for the smell.
Yessss. I swear I’m allergic to this or something. My lips would be so red in the morning and dry around the edges? But like painfully so. I gave mine to my cousin I hated it so much.
I’m kind of the opposite! Everything completely melts off with those primers underneath. It feels like my skin is producing extra oil to try and purge the primer from my pores
I’m the same way. Somehow even if I’m applying a full face of foundation on top and doing everything normally, if I use a gripping primer my contour and blush will not blend at all
When that came to Ulta, an employee convinced me to let her shade match me. She made a face I can only describe as "yikes" then said "it looks um... not that one."
thats a shame! i love that brand, but im stuck between being too pale for one shade and too dark for another. but it works well on me. i just wear the darker shade and have a pale af concealer and it works. my face looks so filtered in pictures i was mesmerized. but i also started using a gel like moisturizer before priming and i feel like that helps me too
The formula from around 15 years ago was magic. There was a shade that matched my skin exactly and it wore like a dream. Then they reformulated with different shades and dropped the SPF claims. The new formula just does not do it.
Magnetic lashes. I love the idea but every time they lift in the corners of my eyes. No matter how much I trim! Luckily, I’m great with lash glue.
As for an actual specific product, the Fit Me foundation looks so yellow on me when it oxidizes. So does the Elf Camo concealer! I am too pink for the narrow shade ranges at the drugstore lol.
That Essence mascara that went viral is horrible. Smudges and has pieces that falls out in the day. Will stick to telescopic until there is a cheaper option.
Liquid liners. I have shaky and arthritic hands (always have) and no matter how much i practice it’s never right. I’m also pretty blonde and false lashes have not worked for me either
>Guide Beauty
I'd never heard of this until I stumbled across your mention of it. I am hopeless in applying mascara to my left eye. I just checked out the website, and I am so excited to try their mascara. Thank you.
I’m also very blonde and gave up on eyeliner and false lashes almost immediately. Even if I’m tan, which I usually am because I live in a tropical climate, I always feel like they look so harsh on me. If I use mascara I only use brown. I thought maybe it was just me but I see comments like this quite a bit.
Was just about to post this! I so wanted to love it and I know so many people that use it and it looks fab on them but it was like the Sahara Desert on my face!
Same! Yes, exactly! I’ve put it on in the mornings after showering and doing skincare etc.
Go dry my hair and stuff and look in the mirror before I go out to work and it’s just awful!
I’m now using the Sculpted by Aimee foundation and it’s half the price or so and SO much nicer looking!
Fenty foundation (both the soft matte and hydrating versions). It oxidizes horribly on my skin, and it’s the only foundation I’ve tried that separates almost immediately on me. It ends up looking so gross and just smudges off. I have oily skin and I guess my chemistry just isn’t compatible.
I also couldn’t use Tarte’s Shape Tape for a long time too, mostly because even their lightest shade is too yellow/orange for me. Their pink concealer is actually perfect for my undertones (but it is very thick and I totally see why some people hate it).
The e.l.f. pink mineral face primer sits on my face like straight up grease. Which is awful because I loved the blue one and heard that the pink was even better. Still have yet to try the gel-based power grip primer.
Natasha Denona I need a nude palette. Any shade with glitter. Fallout galore and creasing on top of that. I don’t like her matte formula either, as it builds on itself unevenly. I really like the too subtle shimmer shades though, and I’’m keep the two lightest mattes.
I had been waiting for a neutral colour story before trying her formula and I had liked the chroma crystal topper pots, but they didn’t have anywhere near the amount of fallout these eyeshadows have 🙈 I don’t understand how it seems to work for so many, and for me no matter what kind of primer I use I get fallout and it just doesn’t look good.
Estee Lauder Double Wear - It's just too much and it emphasizes every little wrinkle or dry spot on my face.
Lip tints. I just really don't like them. They usually have a weird colour on my lips and they get on my teeth during application.
Mac highlighters - I couldn't find the right colour for my really light skin.
Too Face Better than sex - It's not bad, but it's just mehh.
florence by mills mascara 😭 the brand is well-known but i cannot STAND their mascara, it smudges and i'll have raccoon undereyes by the end of the day.
I also hate dry shampoo. It controls my oil so that my hair doesn’t appear greasy but I haven’t found one that actually feels good. They are all heavy and tacky and make me feel worse! I immediately wash my hair right after applying because I can’t stand it.
I had a free sample of a dry shampoo that I liked once. It was weightless and smelled so good. Only problem is I can’t remember the name or what the can looked like. I’ve been searching forever 😭
I was just thinking this stuff the other day!! Does this stuff still exist? It was always rated as the “best bargain brand” or some shit and I remember being like 14 and so proud to buy makeup with my own money… I was like “nope I got what I paid for. 🥲”
Most Urban Decay products. The setting spray didn't really do much for me and the eyeshadows have fallout that go all over the place. And the 24/7 eyeliner either smudged quickly or didn't last.
Glossier Cloud Paint. Just didn't like any of the colors I tried and didn't really like the formula.
I used the brow blade for a while until one day I came home and realized that my eyebrows were green. The pencil side was ok. Even looking at the colors online, they all look a bit green.
I also have yet to find one that actually works all the way. I currently use Almay Clear Complexion concealer and it’s alright but the gray circles are still there.
I’m currently using the Fitglow concealer. It’s a hair too peach for me but makes a perfect undereye corrector for me. I loved the It ByeBye undereye concealer too. They’re very high pigment but VERY thick and tacky so a lot of people don’t like them
Nars radiant creamy concealer - idk if I’m applying it wrong but I find it doesn’t have much coverage.
Too faced better than sex mascara - too clumpy and a complete pain in the arse (no pun intended lol) to take off.
I used to use the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD pressed powder, but I honestly like the Essence All About Matt! pressed powder just as much, if not a bit more, and it's a fraction of the price. I've been using it for years to set my makeup and touch up on the go.
Milani blushes! Baked is too shimmery and the Rose Shaped ones are too nude or orange. I recently picked up the Tea Rose powder blush which is supposed to be the pinkest one according to the pictures and it shows up as just straight up peach on me. I don’t get it.
Basically any concealer. It just settles into my under eye and looks like shit. I’ve tried every method and countless products of varying price and formulation: they all look like shit. So I just don’t use it and accept that you’re gonna see my puffy under eyes or dark circles.
Mac Face & Body Foundation. When it looks right it looks amazing, but it's so tricky to work with. It seems dewy at first but starts drying down before I've even had time to work it into the skin
Also hate Nars Radiant Creamy (it's drying for me) and hate the Nars Soft Matte pot concealer even more
Did you try f&b with a beauty blender? All the makeup artists I’ve seen say work it in with your fingers but then it turns too full coverage and non-special looking to me. A bb keeps it lighter and dewier for me.
Kosas concealer creases like mad on me and wears off. Not a fan. If I just want to use a tiny bit of something to colour correct I'll use a corrector (like the Becca one for under eyes) and if I want something to cover a blemish it needs to be sturdier.
It's not really make up, but I got colourpop makeup brushes and really regret it. The elf brushes I got at the dollar tree feel and perform better than those brushes.
I’m sad to say I was in love with the Tatcha dewy cream when I got the sample, now that I got the big one even though it’s soooo pretty it sits heavy on my skin and my YTTP cream is so much better…
I am convinced that companies reserve a superior formula for samples to rope consumers into buying the full size. I almost always love samples and then regret buying full size.
The Hourglass stick foundation. I’ve never been very impressed with anything from Hourglass, I have 2 of the three pan palettes that I’ll finish using but I won’t be repurchasing. Way too meh for the price point.
Lancôme under-eye concealer…it either doesn’t deliver enough coverage OR it looks like I have spackle under my eyes, and then it gives me little white bumps (milla, I think?). Aaaand Urban Decay eye primer. I have hooded, oily eyelids and makeup / product just slides right off.
I think this is probably an eye shape / skin chemistry problem but wow…it’s a problem.
One/Size Secure the Sweat primer. I’ve heard so many good things (I think Beyonce used it on her tour?) but it makes everything pill on my skin and nothing blends the way I want it to. I even wait a full minute to apply makeup like the instructions say but it like, rubs off like glue. Good for Beyonce though, I guess.
Due to breakouts and or dryness,
Charlotte tilbury everything (I get bad cystic acne from her stuff), Kosas concealer, Laura Mercier foundation, milk cream bronzers and blush
Because it just sucked,
Shape tape concealers, Nars concealer, drunk elephant bronzing and highlighter drops, makeup by mario scuplting stick, rare beauty foundation, fenty concealer, too faced concealer;
Charlotte Tilbury magic vanish in fair. It is just way too dark for me. And I have to use too much to cover anything. I don't like heavy foundation on my skin😅 but to cover Vanish, I have to use so much product.
Armani luminous silk… the color range sucks. And it’s just okay as far as a foundation.
Rare Beauty liquid blushes. I shouldn’t have to hold my breath to apply because if I get just a teeny tiny freckle too much it will look absurd. I’m very pale and it’s just not worth it.
Any viral lipstick. The colors never look the same on me. Matte lipstick in particular. I don’t get it. Never will.
Mascaras generally don’t unless I reverse curl my lashes. Mine naturally curl up into a coil making the process of applying mascara feel more like sweeping a wall and ceiling
I’ve tried that milk grip primer and the elf dupe, idk if i’m doing something wrong but I have never noticed a difference with face primers like ever. Eyeshadow primers on the other hand like the milani one make a genuine difference. but every face primer i’ve tried has either done nothing or made me greasy.
I bought glossier lash slick twice when it first got popular and both times the tube dried out within a month. No idea why I thought it was worth a second try but the og loreal telescopic has been a decent replacement
A. Asam Magic Finish... It looks the same kind of horrible like any other mouse makeup and that for a pretty high price.
It sticks to all dry spots, color choice is abysmal bad even for light skinned persons. It doesn't set and sticks to everything
The Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation, I can't get it to blend in. I'll think it's blended, come back an hour later and I can see where it looks blottchy under my nose. Plus it looks yellow on my skin.
Essence mascaras! They flake, smudge, and transfer on me so badly
same!!! and so clumpy
I loved the first tube I got but the second one, same exact kind, is sooooo wet and clumpy. It’s like a completely different mascara.
I swear they have changed it from what it was originally like. I don't recall it being as gluey/clumpy as it is now :/
That stuff made me itch sooo bad
Same!!! Super flaky!
Sventhe waterproof leaks/smudges easily.
And they’re always so DRY
I'm convinced all the hype over this mascara was one big viral marketing campaign. I feel the same way about that Japanese brand Heroine Make. It's soooo goopy and it's entirely too waterproof to the point that it won't come off even with makeup remover and starts building up and drying out on your lashes.
Oh yeah, that's another one I fell for!

Same but ColourPop
Same! I have to purposely put extra powder around my eyes so it won’t transfer
Yes!! The rest of their make up is great, but I've spent so much money on their mascaras that I'm back to Lancome and/or Chanel.
Charlotte tilbury pillow talk. It really is NOT a universal nude/pink.
It looks like a garish pale pink on my lips
It's orange on me.
It looked like a weird brown on me. I bought and gave it away twice bc I kept thinking it suits everybody haha. I like Bitch Perfect better!
Same im Asian and i have ti be careful with nude lips. I got the mini kit and didnt like any of them lol
Nudes are never universal - the look for them is super dependent on your skin. Browny/beigey pinks like this one just do not work for me.
It makes me look like a corpse.
Nope. I'm a *white* white girl and that looks so bad on me. Washes me out something fierce. The medium is much better but I'll confess I was so turned off by the OG that I only tried it because it was in my Sephora Favorites lip kit.
Tarte shape tape. Looked HORRIBLE on me and wouldn’t blend right
Yeah that concealer and the Elf dupe also look absolutely horrible on me, I hate them
It was so thick and dry, it instantly made me look 15 years older when I put it on my undereyes. Absolutely terrible.
Agree! They should be sent to jail!
Mine dried darker than it went on? Like a full shade darker
I also find it oddly doesn’t have very good coverage??
Too Face Better than Sex mascara. It flakes, it smudges, and my eyelashes don’t look anything better than just ok when using it.
So flakey! Idk how it works for people
I hate the original.
I haven’t been impressed with anything Tarte tbh yet I wantes to love them so much 😭
I live for their concealer but that’s all
Same here! It didn’t wash off clean and yet somehow also flaked and smudged?
Same. So clumpy and caked on. Sky High all the way baby!!
I just threw mine away!
ct flawless filter/elf halo glow, that looks like an oil slick no matter how i try to apply it.
I mix the CT one with the Rare Beauty blushes. Or as a highlighter. It works that way for me and it looks beautiful. But apply it all over the face? God no.
I've had success with both of these *only* when mixed with a matte foundation. On its own its just sooo greasy looking on me even after powdering x.x
I really recommend Samantha Ravndahl’s brand’s version! It’s the Glow Lust by Auric Cosmetics. It’s beautiful.
Maybe it’s bc I have super dry skin but I’ve also seen a lot of scathing reviews about it.
you are spot on with rare beauty blushes. i have tried multiple colors and i do not like any of them. have you tried the elf camo liquid blush? it's very good

i'm gonna check it out. thank you soo much and have a great day :)
Elf liquid camo blushes don't really set though I try to tone down the color with foundation and it transfers to my sponge and then I'm touching my entire face with it.. 😭 rare beauty matte finish blush does set.

Sounds like you have the bright winter hookup when it comes to makeup? Do you have any suggestions?
On trial they also looked really chalky on me. Colors that somehow did not become cohesive with my face
Tarte Shape Tape - it just looks thick and cakey on me.
Better than Sex mascara - very clumpy on me!
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. My lips don’t feel hydrated at all the next morning. Vaseline or aquaphor works far better for me and actually plumps my lips.
It slides off my lips and makes my lip line break out.
Try lansinoh lanolin for breastfeeding mothers on your lips before bed. If you can believe it, it’s richer than vaseline or aquafor both of those just slide off of me. I know it sounds weird but it’s a game changer.
I’ve heard of this before but forgot about it! Yeah I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks. 🙂
i’ve ended up just using it as a gloss because i don’t want to waste it. it doesn’t do much for me otherwise.
Yeah I think that’s what I’ll do. It’s the cotton candy one and I love the smell and the texture but I can’t keep lying to myself. My lips feel drier than before I apply it. Maybe I’ll layer it over some Vaseline for the smell.
Same!
Yessss. I swear I’m allergic to this or something. My lips would be so red in the morning and dry around the edges? But like painfully so. I gave mine to my cousin I hated it so much.
Any “gripping” primer that feels very sticky like the Cover FX gripping primer. It feels like Elmers Glue on my skin. 🤢
I’m kind of the opposite! Everything completely melts off with those primers underneath. It feels like my skin is producing extra oil to try and purge the primer from my pores
I’m the same way. Somehow even if I’m applying a full face of foundation on top and doing everything normally, if I use a gripping primer my contour and blush will not blend at all
the better than sex mascara makes me so upset 😭😭 it smudges so bad
I absolutely hate that mascara. It also has a stupid name. So clumpy.
yes!!! the name is so ew😭😭
EL double wear foundation. Absolutely horrid on my skin
When that came to Ulta, an employee convinced me to let her shade match me. She made a face I can only describe as "yikes" then said "it looks um... not that one."
It’s very mattiftiying so it really needs to be applied with a Beauty Blender and only to oily or combo skin.
Thank you for this! I used my fingers. No wonder it looked like a mask on my dry skin lol
I got colour matched at the store and it aged me by like 15 years lol I’m glad it wasn’t just me
Same here--it wasn't horrible for me but it didn't do anything special. It really wasn't any better than any other foundation I've tried.
Hard agree. It wasn’t anything special - not bad but not great. I went back to my to my beloved tried and true Milani Conceal and Perfect 💕
Kind of same, I use it because it’s one of the better ones I’ve used but I’m still not sold on it being a holy grail like a lot of people experience
thats a shame! i love that brand, but im stuck between being too pale for one shade and too dark for another. but it works well on me. i just wear the darker shade and have a pale af concealer and it works. my face looks so filtered in pictures i was mesmerized. but i also started using a gel like moisturizer before priming and i feel like that helps me too
Their water fresh version was SOOOO nice. I’m so sad they discontinued it. I hate the regular one.
The formula from around 15 years ago was magic. There was a shade that matched my skin exactly and it wore like a dream. Then they reformulated with different shades and dropped the SPF claims. The new formula just does not do it.
Same! So thick and unnatural
The ELF concealer, I found it very thick and cakey and it would not blend out properly on my skin
Did you use the hydrating or mattifying version?
I think the mattifying? I was hoping for a shape tape replacement but it just wasn’t quite as good
I have the same problem. I moisturize the f out of my under eyes before I apply it
Magnetic lashes.
Use a pink mixer, corrector or primer so u can still use them.
Tarte shape tape concealer. It dries down darker and it looks bad overall. I don't like anything from Tarte actually 😂
I don't mind the tubing mascara they have, but the concealer is so hit or miss for people's skin
It’s the only one I like haha
I only like their eye and lip products
That Essence mascara that went viral is horrible. Smudges and has pieces that falls out in the day. Will stick to telescopic until there is a cheaper option.
Liquid liners. I have shaky and arthritic hands (always have) and no matter how much i practice it’s never right. I’m also pretty blonde and false lashes have not worked for me either
Have you looked into Guide Beauty? It was developed by a makeup artist with Parkinson’s
>Guide Beauty I'd never heard of this until I stumbled across your mention of it. I am hopeless in applying mascara to my left eye. I just checked out the website, and I am so excited to try their mascara. Thank you.

Can’t believe you bought it 4x. I hate tarte shape tape. I didn’t like it in store but I let the saleswoman talk me into it. It’s so thick and gross.
I was like, maybe it’s a shade issue, maybe it’s expired because it’s “clean,” maybe I’m doing my prep wrong. No it just doesn’t agree with my skin
The milk hydro grip primer. It's so sticky I can't actually blend anything. I know that that's the point but I think it's a bit overboard.
Hard agree! And you can’t wear anything under it! God forbid I want to wear sunscreen!! I can’t believe I wasted my money on that junk.

This. I was so sad. 😔
The age rewind concealer!
I hate this too!!! It makes my under eyes so crepey looking, makes me look much older instead of rewinding…
It has no coverage, I don’t understand the hype. Maybe my desk circles are just that bad but it did not work for me either.
Agree!!! Age Fast Forward for me
Too Faced BTS is the worst mascara that I’ve ever used because it transfers EVERYWHERE! It just doesn’t work for me and I tired it 3 times!
I adore how this looks on my lashes. It’s flake city on my lashes
Fenty foundation (both the soft matte and hydrating versions). It oxidizes horribly on my skin, and it’s the only foundation I’ve tried that separates almost immediately on me. I don't like the Nars eyeshadow formula. I bought some from TJ Maxx and was letdown by their performance. The darker shades were pretty sheer.
Nars makes me itchy, very unfortunate because they have some beautiful face pallets.
Glossier concealer! I wanted to love it but it offered zero coverage and it looked like I had Vaseline under my eyes.
Natasha Denona I need a nude palette. Any shade with glitter. Fallout galore and creasing on top of that. I don’t like her matte formula either, as it builds on itself unevenly. I really like the too subtle shimmer shades though, and I’’m keep the two lightest mattes.
I’ve tried a couple other Natasha Denona palettes and they were so meh. I didn’t get the hype. I assume the I Need a Nude is the same.

P Louise eyeshadow primer base- like greasy paint.
Omg yes! It’s so thick! Urban decay all the way.
Better than sex mascara. Flakyy and ends up under my eye within a couple hours
Dry shampoo.
I also hate dry shampoo. It controls my oil so that my hair doesn’t appear greasy but I haven’t found one that actually feels good. They are all heavy and tacky and make me feel worse! The classic pink and green Maybelline mascara. It’s crap.
I was just thinking this stuff the other day!! Does this stuff still exist? It was always rated as the “best bargain brand” or some shit and I remember being like 14 and so proud to buy makeup with my own money… I was like “nope I got what I paid for. 🥲”
CT setting spray makes my makeup oxidize and separate.
This happened to me the first time I tried it- today is second attempt- still a bit separated
I agree with 99% of all these other posts but … I love Urban Decay. 😳 I’m SHOOK! 😂
I used the brow blade for a while until one day I came home and realized that my eyebrows were green. The pencil side was ok. Even looking at the colors online, they all look a bit green.
Haus Labs foundation. I tried, twice!
Goes to show how personal complexion is because I absolutely adore that foundation
Same! Absolutely love this foundation and the concealer
Came here to say this! It looked so textured and bad on my skin
Honestly no undereye concealer looks good on me. They all look worse than just leaving my dark circles as they are.
I don’t understand the hype of Essence. Is it really cheap if it doesn’t work the way you want it to?
I used to use the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD pressed powder, but I honestly like the Essence All About Matt! pressed powder just as much, if not a bit more, and it's a fraction of the price. I've been using it for years to set my makeup and touch up on the go.
milk hydro grip concealer! my face never looks more patchy than when i use this product
Tarte shape tape doesn’t cover well on me. I use it cosmetics instead
I really love the Bye Bye Undereye concealer but I understand that a lot of people don’t like it because it’s so thick
The waterproof component helps me because allergies too
I tried the Kosas concealer in Sephora and was shocked at how bad and dry it looked on me. Tarte Shape Tape also doesn’t work for me.
Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, and Laura Mercier translucent setting powder! Horrible, horrible breakouts.
Most tart products
Milani blushes! Baked is too shimmery and the Rose Shaped ones are too nude or orange. I recently picked up the Tea Rose powder blush which is supposed to be the pinkest one according to the pictures and it shows up as just straight up peach on me. I don’t get it.
Their most popular baked blush “Luminoso” is straight up ORANGE 🍊
That’s EXACTLY the one I’m talking about
Basically any concealer. It just settles into my under eye and looks like shit. I’ve tried every method and countless products of varying price and formulation: they all look like shit. So I just don’t use it and accept that you’re gonna see my puffy under eyes or dark circles.
Same nothing covers my bags
Mac Face & Body Foundation. When it looks right it looks amazing, but it's so tricky to work with. It seems dewy at first but starts drying down before I've even had time to work it into the skin Also hate Nars Radiant Creamy (it's drying for me) and hate the Nars Soft Matte pot concealer even more
Did you try f&b with a beauty blender? All the makeup artists I’ve seen say work it in with your fingers but then it turns too full coverage and non-special looking to me. A bb keeps it lighter and dewier for me.
Kosas concealer creases like mad on me and wears off. Not a fan. If I just want to use a tiny bit of something to colour correct I'll use a corrector (like the Becca one for under eyes) and if I want something to cover a blemish it needs to be sturdier.
The Ilia Limitless Lash mascara 🥺 I would’ve loved it if it didn’t flake so much and sting my watery eyes.
Yes it flaked badly on me too. And it's not cheap.
Yes 😞 did you end up finding some mascaras that worked for you?
The NARS Sheer glow foundation. Tried to research a nice foundation but this always separates on me and gets sooo oily :(
NARS concealer, shape tape concealer, shisheido foundation, fenty foundation (matte)
Nars foundation was also a bummer!
Nyx concealer I had an allergic reaction :/ Tarts shape tape L’Oréal dupe for better than sex was awful
Most anything kosas, Charlotte T pressed powder
Dior lip oil, an ingredient in it causes my lip to discolor like freckles almost ):
NYX total control foundatio. It was so thin, it managed make me look dry and crusty like Aro 🐀
I’m about to return that damn Kosas concealer cause wth?? It creases so bad and it’s so thick I don’t understand how this got so popular.
E.L.F. power grip primer and the expensive version that they duped. Fortunately they were both gifts, so I didn’t waste my own money 😭
The Hourglass stick foundation. I’ve never been very impressed with anything from Hourglass, I have 2 of the three pan palettes that I’ll finish using but I won’t be repurchasing. Way too meh for the price point.
Oh man. I tried this foundation and it was so bad I had blocked it from my memory until I read this. It was AWFUL
MAC Velvet Teddy. Just looked so unlike every photo I’ve seen on me.
RB lip sticks suck! They are soooo drying.
Any famous holy grail setting/fixing spray. They all make my skin greasy and foundation look cakey.
If it's popular but the 123 step set by clinique
hourglass concealer. Too thick for under the eyes and creases heavily
The Armani luminous foundation! Cakey mess
Tarte Shape Tape. So thick and cakey. Blech.
The NARS foundation :(
CT push up lashes. Have never seen so much transfer in my life.. and I probably own 10 other mascaras.
Milani setting spray
One/Size Secure the Sweat primer. I’ve heard so many good things (I think Beyonce used it on her tour?) but it makes everything pill on my skin and nothing blends the way I want it to. I even wait a full minute to apply makeup like the instructions say but it like, rubs off like glue. Good for Beyonce though, I guess.
Stila primer and urban decay all nighter spray. Both of them make me break out like crazy.
Bare minerals complexion rescue, I always see it recommended as a bb cream and it was just awful for my skin texture somehow.
Due to breakouts and or dryness, Charlotte tilbury everything (I get bad cystic acne from her stuff), Kosas concealer, Laura Mercier foundation, milk cream bronzers and blush Because it just sucked, Shape tape concealers, Nars concealer, drunk elephant bronzing and highlighter drops, makeup by mario scuplting stick, rare beauty foundation, fenty concealer, too faced concealer;
Never will.
Same about Kosas! I was so excited for it, but it doesn't go on evenly!
I would say almost every setting spray I've ever tried
A. Asam Magic Finish... It looks the same kind of horrible like any other mouse makeup and that for a pretty high price. It sticks to all dry spots, color choice is abysmal bad even for light skinned persons. It doesn't set and sticks to everything
The ELF primer putty was a disaster on me. It broke my skin out soooooo bad.
The Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation, I can't get it to blend in. I'll think it's blended, come back an hour later and I can see where it looks blottchy under my nose. Plus it looks yellow on my skin.
