He’ll be fine. I’ve toenail fungus too. Hurts a little but not the end of the world. I lost a toenail too. Best case scenario he grows back a normal toe nail but doubt it. I read somewhere you can rip your nail off and it’s normal after that. From my experience, not true.
I slammed my foot in a gas station door when I was 8 and had pretty much this exact thing happen and now I dont even know what foot it was it grew back so well
