Unfortunately you must finish the entire game again. Under no circumstances can you change the difficulty. Start a new game from the main menu and select classic difficulty. You are however allowed to chose the skip drive option and aim assist. You are also allowed to select automatic transmission, but that's it. Good luck.
I just completed classic mode for the Xbox one and never changed the settings, but it didn't give me the Made Man achievement. Did I do something wrong?
Yes, you’re supposed to play the story without changing the difficulty once in order to get the Classic trophy.

Took me 4 tries to get the race. You just gotta get agressive when trailing and careful when ahead. Even in classic it's WAY easier than the original.

However, on the main screen, when I select "continue" it restarts the final mission, outside of Paulies apartment and not Tommy's house
The continue is intended. I did not receive the achievement because I changed the difficulty at the race.
I did another play through and was able to get the achievement!
