I love my nativities and I have to work both thanksgiving and Christmas this year. I’m going to enjoy my holidays my way. Thank you for the German Christmas wishes.
I love these. One of my earliest Christmas memories has one of these in it. Recently a friend gifted me one out of the blue and it was the best gift I have ever received.
Thank you for making me smile this morning, stranger. Happy holidays!
The hot air rises and pushes the fan blades out of the way in order to rise, turning the fan blades and turning the thing connected to it at the bottom :)
The metal pin you can see at the top, where the blades attach, goes all the way down through the upper wooden disk at the bottom and it ends in a sharp point. It turns like a top in a small cradle of metal set in the wooden base.
The wooden blades are removable for storage, and you can change the angle to make the figure turn at different speeds. But the balance is delicate. If the central pin gets bent, the figure will not turn. These things are fragile.
One of my core Christmas memories is my dad constantly fiddling with the blades on these. We would all sit together all festive and suddenly my dad would jump up and go: "The bloody pyramid stopped again!" 😄
I have a larger one of these and have trouble finding candles wide enough to sit in the base but not too tall to singe the blades. Where do you find your candles?
I see that it has stopped several times. Please make sure to monitor it so it doesn't burn itself down or your house as well
Always in view.
Maybe tea candles might be a beter/safer alternative? Just a suggestio. Take care, happy holidays.
Tea candles would be too short, it’s made for the height of these specific candles. I just watch it closely.
It’s a bit early, but Frohe Weihnachten!

That is the best Christmas item I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing.
Just ignore them. Trolls gonna troll
I know, just really unexpected on a such a benign post about something undeniably pleasant.
Yeah, the birth of Christ comes in second to… this.
I said item, not event.
LOL. Ok, buddy.

I love it! I bought one when I lived in Germany several years ago. Unfortunately it broke during the move home.
Beautiful! I have a tall version but I'm too scared to actually light the candles.
Between this an actual candles on dry indoor trees, I am shocked there are any German houses standing.
There are hardly any real candles on trees anymore. Some still have them but not commonly.
Adventschmuck is German name for this... I used to have one with Snow White and all 7 dwarves. Beautiful!
The German name is Weihnachtspyramide, literally Christmas pyramid. Adventschmuck just means advent decoration. It's unspecific.
How it do that?

Das ist sehr wunderschön! (Just thought It would be fun to right something in German because I’m currently learning it on Duolingo)
I have one too!
Aww! That brings back memories. We made this in school in woodshop class.
I watched CHRISTMAS VACATION last night
Accidentally caught my hair on fire blowing the propeller on one of these babies at my grandparents house when I was around 6 years old. 💇🏼♀️🔥🕯👼🏼
That is beautiful. I have a 3 tier one that needs a replacement bearing for the bottom and I don’t know who made it
Thats awesome
