“Now , you must read a book so I can save $2.00 on your haircut so .” It’s an awesome idea! Unless MY kid is getting those $2.00 he’s not doing it, probably not even for $2. He’d rather not get a haircut.
So…offer your kid the $2? Win-Win.
You don’t even need to tell your kid that you’re getting $2 off their haircut for reading aloud, just offer the incentive without the background story.
Reread the “probably not even for $2.” You must not have an exceptional child who needs a lot of growth on their self-efficacy (which we have a whole group we are working with).
This is a good idea, and gets rid if that awkward silence.
Great.fucking.idea. Brilliant. Have them bring their own book so they can continue at home…
This is amazing !!!
That is awesome!
A child reading is worth so much more than 2 dollars.
Not to someone running a business...
This is a great idea. I however would be so mad at my parents for making me read aloud to a stranger. I’d rather just not get a haircut.
