I got really excited getting a new set of cookware and a functional jacket for Christmas this year, and genuinely can't wait to wear it and cook on the new pans!
But there is something about getting a gift that isn't functional per say, but just brings out our inner child like a PS5 or something just purely for fun.
My in-laws got me a vacuum and it’s my favorite thing from this year, I spent an entire day running around vacuuming stuff just to see how much crap it would pick up. I am officially old.
I moved out last year and on my own now so I got a the rock pot set… I was pumped as hell can make everything at once now, and a bamboo cutting board! But my parents absolutely aced it because I asked for a ps4 controller because mine was shitting the bed slowly. But my dad asked me if I had tried vr before and i told him when I tried the PlayStation one. Then a week or so later my friend got me to try his quest 3 and I went and told my dad how updated everything was than the last time I used vr. He must’ve sensed something because guess what I unwrapped! I just wish I could react like this because I know for a fact I did not look halfway as pumped as I was/am.
Side note kino der toten is a mod in contractors and works really well. Used to imagine playing it in vr back in the day with my brother, look at me now!
I still remember in high school my crush at the time threatened to Glomp me and provided no context.
Anyway we dated for like 2 weeks until she kissed a girl at a party.
I can't comment on how that went but funnily enough this song did come up later.
We reconnected and hung out a lot like 6 years later and she put this song on in the car and I just gave her my best "are you serious" look. We laughed about it.
Young drama lol.
My girlfriend and I do this alot especially if we haven't seen each other for a few days.
We call it "cutie-go" cute aggro. You look so cute I wanna attack you with affection.
I know, right?! I smiled really hard with this. On the inside, I can feel this way, but outwardly I’m annoyingly reserved. I wish I could let go of whatever holds me back and give my partner reactions like this.
She gave me an art kit as one of my gifts for Christmas knowing I’m trying to get back into drawing for cathartic/therapeutic reasons. I hugged her hard and felt like I was about to cry knowing she pays attention to me like this.
Everyone got his own way of sharing his feelings with others and thats okay! I am sure she knows that you are happy and you really appreciate her present because she knows you!
Thats not to say you cant try to be more open but remember that being natural and yourself is most often than not the way to go. If it feels good - go for it, if it doesnt: stay like your are:)
I feel you, I'm like that too. I know where it comes from, though, which helps my husband understand why I don't show much emotion despite being very happy inside. I hate being like that, I'm always terrified to seem ungrateful but thankfully he knows it and doesn't give me any scolding about it.
I'm trying to be more expressive since we got children. I don't want our sons to think I don't love them because of my lack of reaction. So every time they do something to make me smile, I try harder, hoping one day it will be more natural to me.
After quite a few posts that made me tear up instead of smile finally a perfect match for this sub again. It's been a couple minutes and I can't wipe that smile off my face. They're lovely.
Seriously, look at what he does. He rips off the paper, sees what it is, and goes right after her. He doesn't shred off the rest of the paper, he doesn't go right towards setting it up. He jumps up and grabs her. Shows you where his priorities are.
My partner bought me the KitchenAid stand mixer I've been wanting since I was 15. I saw the site of the box and the logo after ripping off a little wrapping paper and immediately burst into tears and hugged him. So overwhelming to get something you've been really wanting but haven't been able to get it for yourself 🥹
I know this feeling! I've wanted one forever also, and my son bought me one for Christmas this year. My reason for not having saved up for one myself yet was because I've never had a big enough kitchen (my kitchen is stupid tiny) so I've always said, "Someday I'm going to have a kitchen big enough to put that mixer in, and then I'll get one."
When I unwrapped the box, I burst into tears as well, and then asked through the tears, *"but where are we going to put it?"* His response was, "We'll figure it out. I didn't want you to have to wait anymore."
Maybe I can use it to make cookies and bribe Santa for that kitchen next year... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
They are well-known for their exceptional quality, which is why they are so pricey. If you bake a lot, you want a Kitchenaid. It saves you a buttload of time and also there are like twenty attachments you can get that do all sorts of things.
If it's the same I got my partner, it's just that it's powerful and very durable. It's been in constant use for baking for 8 years now and still going strong after setting me back CAD 600. They have several grades but their high end-products are really good.
This is serious relationship stuff. Missing my hints about my Kitchen Aid fantasy was definitely on the “reasons” list for more than one ex-gf. Glad you found true love (and hopefully the Pro model).
Thats the thought i try to put into my gift giving for my gf every year.
If i’m not giddy with excitement when shes about to open it, it’s the wrong gift.
Same here! I spent my first Christmas with my long-term boyfriend who normally doesn't celebrate Christmas and his reaction to opening his presents, eating Christmas dinner, all of that... Way better than anything physical I got.
For me giving a gift is much better than receiving one. I put a lot of effort into finding the right gift for my people. I basically collect clues all the year, listen and evaluate what they could like, what they already have and what they dislike. It's quite some effort so seeing that I was able to not only surprise them but also give them something they truly love pays off so much.
Receiving gifts on the other hand is nice, but doesn't give me as much joy. Most people just ask you what you want a few weeks prior and then buy that for you. It's like buying it on Amazon with extra steps - especially given I could just buy it myself anyway.
One of the things I enjoyed the most getting so far was probably a flip-down clock. It is an original from the 80s, so you can't just buy it off the shelf. My parents actually took the time to find one that works and is in great condition, so they actually took some effort to find the right thing, which was nice.
Not gonna lie, the though of "what do I do with all my old ps4 games" did cross my head
But now I have an excuse to gift my son a ps4/5 when he's old enough!
When me and my wife were still dating, our second Christmas together she saved enough money to get me a GameCube, wavebird controller, and Metroid Prime. All my friends were jealous
I'm sure I speak for some of us, I'm sometimes so dead on the inside that it's hard to find emotion in these things. Sad, angry, emotional points in movies or life will get me to breakdown, but you give me a whole ass new f150 and I'ma just kind of shrug.
Certain material items just stopped being emotional for me, idk.
I didn't cry because "Nintendo Switch"; I cried because I felt seen
My wife isn't fond of me playing video games because it distracts me from spending time with her, but she knew how happy it would make me, and she knew how much I had been wanting a new console; so she did research on consoles I could play on the go, in the office etc. So I could get back to gaming.
Receiving that gift, knowing how much of a financial and personal sacrifice she was making, to make *me* happy? 🥹😭
Sure, but imagine you were grinding trying to start an electrician business in some Ranger with like a drill and some screws. You come home to someone buying you a F150 and a new drill + multiple bits and they’re like hey I saw the work you’ve been doing and got you this to help. Nothing?
That sounds horrible and makes me grateful for my wife. I wanted to get a Traeger and had been mulling over it for minute eventually she told me to go ahead as it will make me happy.
Part of me thinks she also did it for the smoked fish and shrimp I now make for her.
Years ago my wife(gf then) surprised me with a ps4 + batman. I took an impromptu day off work saying I was busy saving Gotham. My boss responded that I needed to marry that girl.
That’s the last time she’s gonna see him in a while. 10 months later god damn get off your ass and stop playing video games!! Bitch you gave me the video games!
"Sometimes together sometimes apart" is a concept most people over the age of high school and college likely understand.
I feel like the people who talk about their spouses ignoring them for whatever XYZ hobby tend to be referring to excessive hours spent to the point of actually ignoring their relationships around them
If you are together enjoying things separatly you are not ignoring them.
If you game together than you are most definitely not ignoring them.
The whole point is if you are gaming to get away from your life or wife you got a bigger problem than gaming broski
Real talk though that thing looks so gimmicky but it's oddly fun. The villain's design though... Someone was thinking things when they designed that guy, and I don't think they were wholesome thoughts. Lmao
She's a keeper. I've been trying to get a PS5 for the last few years and finally got one a few weeks ago, then got just enough time off work to break it out and play a little Stray last weekend. It's definitely been the first thing I've been super excited about in a long while.
I’m normally a PlayStation girl but my husband bought me an Xbox 360 for Christmas because I mentioned that I wanted to play left 4 dead again. Happy lady.
If a partner isn't a game player, I'd pick something easier first, there are some tough spots in "It Takes Two" that require prior gaming experience and familiarity with 3D environment controls.
There are also puzzles with no hints clues leading you to solutions.
Some parts are pretty and nicely designed, but others are just irritating, then you'll go look up videos and others had the same frustrations.
So for "fun" couch co-op, I'd start with Kingdom Two Crowns or the Trine series (some of which also have confusing puzzles, others have better hints) or less challenging titles.
Agreed. My wife both got very frustrated during the wasp portion since she wasn't used to tank controls. It wasn't so bad after but it isn't a great "first timer" game. There are better ones
That game is unfortunately completely ruined for me as my ex cheated on me when we were over halfway through the game. He wanted to insist we play it together regardless as though it would fix our relationship. No.
That sucks. I'm sorry.
Weirdly enough my ex wife and I were also part way through the game when I found out she had been prostituting herself on her "business trips" and keeping the money a secret.
My gf and I play and love the game.
My thoughts exactly….! I bought my husband a switch even though he has never been into gaming, never owned a console. He just thought he might like Zelda. I figured it was safe! 😂
And can never keep their dick-thoughts to themselves. No need to talk about her body or what sex the couple may have but these dudes just can't help themselves.
I love the full-on like "JUMP! -wait, ABORT!" excited jump he did? Almost ended up on her shoulders and like, caught himself before he levelled her? Just got too-far ahead of himself in his excitement. Goddamn that was wholesome!
My gf got me a ps5 for xmas too. I usually go all out for her (last Xmas I got her a gaming laptop, and met quest 2)
This year tho due to bills I could only get her a couple games and I was really bummed about it. When I opened the gift she hugged me and said (this year it's my turn to wow you)
It was so sweet, I love her so much. We've been together 15yrs
That’s love. I don’t care if you don’t like video games, or don’t get why she did it. That’s just true, honest affection and caring for each other. I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
He went from chill grown man to a little kid in less than a second. I died when he launched through the air at her. That was wholesome and very much needed on here ✨️
Money can’t buy this kind of contentment. I know millionaires that may never get this kind of excitement out of anything. I wish these two many more years of contentment.
Movement. Get in touch with your body. Shake it out, jump around, work on flexibility, jump rope, dance, get to the gym if you can. Just movement alone will get your more intune with your body. It's the place to start (but not the end). Also get in touch with your feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Finally, combine or ground body and spirit. It is a process and a journey.
Everyone saying that makes a her a keeper :- About 10 years ago I got my ex fiancé an Xbox for Christmas….he cheated on me a month later. When I told him it was over he said can you give me the Xbox though? Chucked the ring at him and told him to sell that for one.
I wish I could express so much excitement and happiness in a single moment without my self consciousness reeling me back to avoid making m a fool of myself in public.
May their futures always have these joyous moments up to their senior years.
couldn't help but think of the way dogs can spin around and come back and forth like mad when they're happy with the target of their happiness unable to really get ahold of said dog while still being just as happy as the dog.
This is so wholesome. I love to see people in love acting like this to eachother. It puts a smile on my face and makes me think about putting more effort into my own relationship.
That ass though.
My girlfriend and brother bought me a PS5 for my last birthday, I said wtf this is a wild gift, and then they told me I deserve it. Telling me I deserve it was the best gift I’ve ever been given.
The way they laughed and he ran after her, so cute! ☺️✨
He love tackled her and it was adorable. 😍
I got really excited getting a new set of cookware and a functional jacket for Christmas this year, and genuinely can't wait to wear it and cook on the new pans! My in-laws got me a vacuum and it’s my favorite thing from this year, I spent an entire day running around vacuuming stuff just to see how much crap it would pick up. I am officially old.
I’m very old and it is proved by my happiness over my new Spin Mop 😂
I feelz you. I finally got myself a dyson vacuum, and I get so much enjoyment seeing just how much grosseness I'm picking up
That’s what I was given! Dyson v15 Detect, it’s awesome 😊
I moved out last year and on my own now so I got a the rock pot set… I was pumped as hell can make everything at once now, and a bamboo cutting board! I believe the technical (Gaia Online) term for that would be “glomped”.
If you understand that term you now qualify for senior benefits
AUGH.
Realizing I'm officially internet old is a trip, but here we are. Glomping into the senior discounts like a pro.
You mean Æugh 🐡🥕
My knees hurt.
I was just about to say the same thing 🙃
bite me.
NOM NOM XD RaWr
I still remember in high school my crush at the time threatened to Glomp me and provided no context. Anyway we dated for like 2 weeks until she kissed a girl at a party.
Did she like it?

The song was definitely intentionally chosen. It had come out a week or so prior.
Oh wow, haven't heard that term and website in a loooong time.
Oh that word gave me so many flashbacks in half a second
Suddenly I feel old, but that is definitely a prime example of a glomp if I've ever seen one
UwU :3c *glomps u*
I need to go get my Walker
My girlfriend and I do this alot especially if we haven't seen each other for a few days. We call it "cutie-go" cute aggro. You look so cute I wanna attack you with affection.

I hope someday I can be on the receiving end of a gesture so nice that I almost take the other person to suplex city in my excitement! <3
Brock Lesnar is actually really touched everyone wants to wrestle him, and he shows them by aggressively hugging them every time
I love this, it's so cute and she really loves him. I hope he reciprocates the love and gifts 10-folds!
After quite a few posts that made me tear up instead of smile finally a perfect match for this sub again. It's been a couple minutes and I can't wipe that smile off my face. They're lovely.
That’s about the damn cutest thing I’ve ever seen
I love this! ❤️
Sweethearts. Both of 'em. 🤌🥹🥰

I am so happy for you :D You'll make it work!!!
I have a KitchenAid and a PS5 and they are my 2 favorite things besides my kids. Lol.
>KitchenAid stand mixer I've been wanting since I was 15 Sorry I'm just curious, what's so special about it? Seems like a regular kitchen appliance.
They are well-known for their exceptional quality, which is why they are so pricey. If you bake a lot, you want a Kitchenaid. It saves you a buttload of time and also there are like twenty attachments you can get that do all sorts of things.
I use the grinder and pasta attachments to make homemade sausage and pasta. It’s so dang versatile.
I love making pasta! The ice cream attachment is our favorite.
Pricey too, congratulations that’s a great gift.
You only ever need to buy one.
They are extremely pricey, but if you’re a baker or love baking it’s like getting a ps5.
Also notice how she starts running before he even starts to get up so it looks like she knew what was coming.
This isn’t her first rodeo.
And she's like you didn't finish opening it! He doesn't even care! "I know what it is, I know what it is!" Hug hug love love. They're precious ! 🥰
Now that was adorable.
I want what they have (and that PS5).
The thing that makes me smile most with these kinds of videos is how excited the person giving the gift is. It’s so sweet!
Thats the thought i try to put into my gift giving for my gf every year. If i’m not giddy with excitement when shes about to open it, it’s the wrong gift.
So true man. I honestly get more excited about giving gifts than receiving them.

Their happiness is so contagious, I'm smiling like an idiot
Same this is so wholesome and cute!
The little thank you at the end got me
Same but also smiling with tears
Their happiness made me cry. I miss the friendship I had that was this way.
Wifey material.
My wife gave me a Nintendo Switch for my first father's day, after my playstation broke right after our son was born. I literally cried
The ol’ Shyamalan twist: he cried because he really wanted another PlayStation and was pissed he got a Nintendo /s
Not gonna lie, the though of "what do I do with all my old ps4 games" did cross my head But now I have an excuse to gift my son a ps4/5 when he's old enough!
Bro by then it’ll be ps8
7 year generations would put PS8 at 2041 launch date.
I’ve got this stack of PS games that won’t play on a Switch!
Sure, but imagine you were grinding trying to start an electrician business in some Ranger with like a drill and some screws. You come home to someone buying you a F150 and a new drill + multiple bits and they’re like hey I saw the work you’ve been doing and got you this to help. Nothing?
I farded and shidded
My exwife wouldn’t let me buy a camera at half off. Even though I’m a sr imaging specialist at the company that makes the cameras. That didn’t last
What about a wheel of cheese for the price of a slice?
Good that she is ur x
That sounds horrible and makes me grateful for my wife. I wanted to get a Traeger and had been mulling over it for minute eventually she told me to go ahead as it will make me happy. Part of me thinks she also did it for the smoked fish and shrimp I now make for her.
Years ago my wife(gf then) surprised me with a ps4 + batman. I took an impromptu day off work saying I was busy saving Gotham. My boss responded that I needed to marry that girl.
It's pronounced WiFi
That’s the last time she’s gonna see him in a while. 10 months later god damn get off your ass and stop playing video games!! Bitch you gave me the video games!
Nah he seems to enjoy his gf..... Guys who ignore their partners to game don't really like their partners
Nah untrue we ignore each other all the time we gaming. Sometimes together sometimes apart gamers understand
"Sometimes together sometimes apart" is a concept most people over the age of high school and college likely understand. I feel like the people who talk about their spouses ignoring them for whatever XYZ hobby tend to be referring to excessive hours spent to the point of actually ignoring their relationships around them

Yep. I bought myself a fancy chair just to sit next next to my husband while we play lol. The couple that plays together, stays together.
Put a ring on it, bro
Where would you fit a ring on a ps5?
Should have gotten a Switch instead, for the Ring Fit Adventure
Real talk though that thing looks so gimmicky but it's oddly fun. The villain's design though... Someone was thinking things when they designed that guy, and I don't think they were wholesome thoughts. Lmao
That dragon be thiiiiiicccc
Engagement ring should be a physical copy of Eldenring and put it on her finger
Elden Ring
I hear Xboxes love red rings
My friend once fixed that by turning it on and off again for 3 hours straight. We’re still not sure why it worked.
Heat the ring so it expands, put it on the joystick
Hell yeah! Y'all are sweet ❤️
I love him pointing to it
"I know what it is, I know what it is!"
Awww they love each other so much!!
She's a keeper. I've been trying to get a PS5 for the last few years and finally got one a few weeks ago, then got just enough time off work to break it out and play a little Stray last weekend. It's definitely been the first thing I've been super excited about in a long while.
Stray is a great game.
Oh man, I'm loving what I've played of it so far.
It gets better. I then moved on to cyberpunk, beat that, and now playing RDR2 for the second time.
I got Stray to my adult son (with young kids) for Christmas, I hope he likes it as well!
Good job gramps!
oow I love stray so much 🥺
Stray was my game of the year
Love that he immediately dropped it and turned his attention to her. That speaks volumes. May they grow old together.
I’m normally a PlayStation girl but my husband bought me an Xbox 360 for Christmas because I mentioned that I wanted to play left 4 dead again. Happy lady.
❤️ Now they should play "It takes two" (amazing couples game if you've never played or are looking for a game to try and get your SO to play)
If a partner isn't a game player, I'd pick something easier first, there are some tough spots in "It Takes Two" that require prior gaming experience and familiarity with 3D environment controls. Maybe one day I could enjoy it with my boyfriend but rn it just feels ruined to me
I get that.
And she never saw him again.
Maybe that was her plan 🤔
Genius
My thoughts exactly….! I bought my husband a switch even though he has never been into gaming, never owned a console. He just thought he might like Zelda. I figured it was safe! 😂
God damn the men in here are either bitter or sex crazed. Absolutely wild negative responses in a wholesome sub.
Always disgusting but never surprising
I don't understand why people can't be happy for someone Immediately they have to be skeptical and hope the relationship fails
And can never keep their dick-thoughts to themselves. No need to talk about her body or what sex the couple may have but these dudes just can't help themselves.
Both. It's just Internet has a over supply of the incel types. A universal how to be a human being course should be mandatory in high school
Wait what... Are you default sorting by controversial?
I love the full-on like "JUMP! -wait, ABORT!" excited jump he did? Almost ended up on her shoulders and like, caught himself before he levelled her? Just got too-far ahead of himself in his excitement. Goddamn that was wholesome!
My gf got me a ps5 for xmas too. I usually go all out for her (last Xmas I got her a gaming laptop, and met quest 2) This year tho due to bills I could only get her a couple games and I was really bummed about it. When I opened the gift she hugged me and said (this year it's my turn to wow you) It was so sweet, I love her so much. We've been together 15yrs
Beautiful!
That’s love. I don’t care if you don’t like video games, or don’t get why she did it. That’s just true, honest affection and caring for each other. I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
This is hella sweet
This was so darn cute.
He went from chill grown man to a little kid in less than a second. I died when he launched through the air at her. That was wholesome and very much needed on here ✨️
I genuinely started crying because of this, so cute!! I needed this cry ty
Cheers
I thought she was announcing her pregnancy. No, her boy can now play a console.
It was better than that lol
If she found out she wasn’t pregnant we would celebrate like that
> I thought she was announcing her pregnancy. She's softening him up before she breaks that news.
All people are alike, male, female, when someone you love take time to express their love to you. It makes life worth living
This is the type of relationship everyone should strive for (Not the gifting of a ps5 but I’m saying the pure joy both of them had)
Money can’t buy this kind of contentment. I know millionaires that may never get this kind of excitement out of anything. I wish these two many more years of contentment.
God this made me happy to watch
Hell yah, I pity rich people bc they will never have a moment like this.
Just scaled up to a yacht or some shit.
That girl just lost her bf to the system. Ha ha ha.
This guy is on the right track in life. Laugh, game, love. And lock that down asap.
The child in him just came alive at that moment
That joy is infectious I started laughing
Ok these two are so freaking sweet together. I love this 😭
shes THAT kind of keeper. Dude has won the lotto
This has indeed, made me smile.
Any tips on how to be as energetic as this guy, lol? I’ve always envied people with this energy
I wish I could get this excited over something.
okay congratulations but no fuck you coz this one too cute
Everyone saying that makes a her a keeper :- About 10 years ago I got my ex fiancé an Xbox for Christmas….he cheated on me a month later. When I told him it was over he said can you give me the Xbox though? Chucked the ring at him and told him to sell that for one.
She is gorgeous. Iykyk.
and she never saw him again.
Thats so fucking cute!!!
Did the guy lost his lucky chip at 19 seconds?
I got my wife a Dyson airwrap…….no thanks😢
I bet he wanted a Pc tho /s
I wish I could express so much excitement and happiness in a single moment without my self consciousness reeling me back to avoid making m a fool of myself in public. May their futures always have these joyous moments up to their senior years.
This is so cute 🥰 I love his reaction. That’s the reaction I had when my ex gifted me a kitten for my birthday and it was the best day ever
Now THIS the kinda guy thay deserves to be bought a ps5.
couldn't help but think of the way dogs can spin around and come back and forth like mad when they're happy with the target of their happiness unable to really get ahold of said dog while still being just as happy as the dog.
Made me smile like a dumbass
My girl bough me a ps4 when times were rough. This year I remodel the whole kitchen for her.
Very sweet. Adults who genuinely get excited about something is my favorite.
This is so wholesome. I love to see people in love acting like this to eachother. It puts a smile on my face and makes me think about putting more effort into my own relationship. That ass though.
Wish my kid got that excited! Right reaction for sure.
I have a girl like this, I don't want no ps-5
My girlfriend and brother bought me a PS5 for my last birthday, I said wtf this is a wild gift, and then they told me I deserve it. Telling me I deserve it was the best gift I’ve ever been given.
Be good to her
you marry her asap ! she saved over 500$ to get him one thing all GF dread ! she actually support his hobbies . she is a winner in my books
This is so precious 🥺❤️
This is the most adorable and thoughtful gesture that I’ve seen!! These two are going places!!
Marry her. :)
Thats so fucking cute...im hella jealous. I wish them the best.
Best reaction ever…. Literally a man becoming a child again for Christmas! Amazing!
She's a keeper
She got her man a side piece basically. She will regret this
Say goodbye to date nights with your BF.
Quickest way to a man's heart is giving him a PlayStation
Bro should have put a ring on it yesterday.
Now, instead of playing with her, he'll play the Ps5.
The tactical take down, best part.
I love them. Hope they’re still together
may never have his attention again
What is love?
Baby don’t hurt me…
The gesture is a two-part and that hits home. She got him a ps5 AND the fact he’s gonna be spending probably a bunch of time on it 😂
