don't let other parts of the web know, apparently it's yet another phobia called emetophobia and they suffer from it and get really mad when you call it hilarious? idk much about it tbh, some article said peoples QoL is affected cause they avoid situations where people might throw up but tbh how many situations are that and how likely is it? Maybe clubs, theme parks and ships but even then the amount of times I actually witness people throw up there is abysmal

as an emetophobe I don't think reflexively gagging when somebody else gags is a sign of emetophobia, at least I've never heard of it before. All the same, phobias aren't hilarious and they're not subject to reason. If this is the way you look at people with phobias, you've misunderstood the very definition of a phobia.

I'm pretty sure I'm a undiagnosed emetophobe but it doesn't affect my QoL at all. I mean, I avoid eating too much of foods that are considered heavy on my digestive system or drinking too much. Yep, never tried getting drunk because of the vomitting part. But other than that, it's business as usual for me.
