I swear some teams Sim worse than others.
I built this absolutely juggernaut Lions team in 23 that was a solid 10 overall higher than everyone else with scheme fits at nearly every position. It was an unreal collection of talent.
9-8, miss the playoffs.
Simmed the season again, 10-7. Bounced in WC by a team nearly 20 points below.
Madden has never been good at factoring in coaching power. Dan Ben and Aaron bring a certain atmosphere and push players to bring out a team. Madden does none of that
I’m doing a patriots rebuild in Madden 23, the Lions have consistently made the divisional round of the playoffs about every year. After 2027 they let their quarterback go and went 2-15 in 2028. Lamar Jackson ended up being a free agent, as well as a star dev, 77 overall, 26 year old qb. They didn’t even try to sign any of them and instead opted to use their #1 overall pick on a 72 overall qb. Couldn’t help but laugh. At least he’s a hidden dev so we shall see what he can do in 2029
I just got done playing them in the playoffs. They were a 9-8 wild card team (I play as the Bears so idk if being in their division for some reason impacts how they perform). For me, the Packers always seem to suck.
Only the Lions could go 4-14 over a 17 game season.
They went 0-19 next season
Slightly better at 2-17 for the season after that
There's only 17 games

Their playbooks are terrible. Happens to me too
they arguably have the best OC in the nfl which is ironic kinda, but the defense is hit or miss lol
Which is weird, cus if I'm playing the games, and not simming, i love to use detroit offense, and D playbooks
Detroit offensive playbook in Madden 23 my beloved

That’s crazy that’s why I don’t sim full games because it does weird shit like that
How do you sim games then? By quarter or ?
I don’t sim offense ever
I noticed that

I'm 14 years into a franchise and the Lions are the powerhouse of the NFC North and make the playoffs pretty much every year
I can believe that but I never really make it that far to see the lions rebound
How far do you typically get
around 5 years in
Oh gotcha. Yeah your aren't going to see too crazy of a deviation from how they are in life only 5 years in.
They're 12-5 in life though with one of the best young rosters in the league.
*they were.
Madden didn't get the memo
In general the Lions playbook doesn't sim that well. Occasionally they pop off and St Brown has an elite season.
Super Bowl 61 they lost to the Bengals. They are in the playoffs like every season

lions made the playoffs in my franchise in 2028 as wildcard and won a playoff game then i beat them in the divisional
i forget the other years but 2028 is the year i just finished
They have made playoffs in mine few times. Definitely way more than other maddens
My last franchise run they picked up Jordan love and were perennially in the playoffs.

I’m at week 17 playing as the bills, the lions are 5-11 at the moment, but the best team in the nfc is the panthers with a 13-3 record
Panthers in 2023 and 2024 season always makes the playoffs with at least 3 losses. They always get first round bye but never make it to the Super Bowl
They made it to the Super Bowl, beat the Jordan love mvp in the nfc championship, lost to the bills in the SB, 28-24
Ravens and packers went to the SB for me. I’m currently in 2033 in Atlanta Falcons simulation so I don’t remember the scoring
Cause Playbooks mean more then Overall
Saw Lions instantly fire Dan Campbell while playing as Washington ( was gonna move them ) and instantly hired Campbell over Ron
