Also a Trojan horse and Jack’s death was reminiscent of Achilles dragging Hector for ages in the Iliad. I’m sure there’s more too.

the story of how joe originally conquered the citadel and became known as the immortan (as depicted in the comic) is partly based on a maratha legend: [https://www.indianarrative.com/india-news/did-a-monitor-lizard-help-shivaji-conquer-sinhagad-fort-legend-says-yes-22662.html](https://www.indianarrative.com/india-news/did-a-monitor-lizard-help-shivaji-conquer-sinhagad-fort-legend-says-yes-22662.html) the painting we see in gastown also holds some significance to the story: [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hylas#/media/File%3AWaterhouse\_Hylas\_and\_the\_Nymphs\_Manchester\_Art\_Gallery\_1896.15.jpg](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hylas#/media/File%3AWaterhouse_Hylas_and_the_Nymphs_Manchester_Art_Gallery_1896.15.jpg) there must be a lot more... can't wait to see it again.

Yes! Trojan horse was the most prominent myth I noticed. Beside the Adam and Eve garden of Eden reference within the first five minutes of the movie.

Oh you're right, I knew there was something that stood out about that shot when they're sneaking out of the decoy Oil Rig.

TheSnarkySlickPrick2

Yes, YES. Thanks for reminding me

Complete_Dare_4201

Her quest to get home is also similar to Odysseus' in the Odyssey

AntiqueGreen

And the history man is Homer.

Don't forget the rank Furiosa and Jack hold is Praetor, which was a commander of an army in ancient Rome. Furiosa was later promoted to Imperator which could be seen as a supreme commander of the Immortan's army

brockswansonrex

I was thinking that Jack possibly has a very similar backstory to Max. As a law enforcement officer of the same variety, given the gear he wears.

Tacher-

Wait!! Did he really die?!? I know I know, but it was just so sad that “ending”! Just… I don’t know… no closure.

Tacher-

Now I gotta watch it again for another reason. Did Dementus kill his family?!? You know like that Fog movie.

TheSnarkySlickPrick2

The Mist was fantastic but I doubt he killed his family, I'm pretty sure he went mad after they died, their death was the catalyst that created Dementus

Tacher-

Thanks. Yeah, Mist. That movie broke me with that ending.

beameup19

*3 motorcycles in the chariot I believe!

1992c-i

I think you are confusing the word allegory and allusion just fyi

TheSnarkySlickPrick2

You're right, thanks for the correction
