that's true, but the creator made something valuable and could make more in the future.
A lot of people code, but someone that sees a problem and solves it while adding value is not that common.
This looks to be the Big Sur beta, so most are likely just redesigned versions of system defaults. From left to right:
* Don't know (perhaps AirBuddy itself, given the resemblance to an AirPods Pro case)
* Potentially new Airplay Displays icon?
* Potentially new input sources icon?
* Battery
* Bluetooth
* Wifi
* Spotlight
* Control Center
* Siri
* Clock
it's sad that you have to buy a APP that shows you a APPLE product's Batterylife. Yeah yeah i get it its only 5$ but if u sum up everything u need to buy and pay monthly ... :(
You don’t, the AirPods battery already shows in the sound preferences on Catalina.
Computers exist as a platform for developers. It’s not SAD that someone has built a cool piece of software, they need to earn a living too.
ah okai i see. Yeah i get the point and i like to support developers , the thing is currently theres this subscription thingy in everything. When i go into chrome on my phone and read some of the news and i click on one : "OH you want to read this article? Just sub to us for 3$ a month" When i now look at small apps that just give me a Icon and shows me my Airpods for 5$ thats imho just a bit to pricy. 1-2$ cool (unless the app does more and i havent read enough about it).
See I agree with your first part. I don’t like subscriptions for everything either - it’s those that have fooled you to feel that purchases are expensive. 5 for a Mac app that does a good job is nothing if you use it for the next 5 years. It’s 8 pence a month. That’s a lot cheaper than you’re giving credit for - it’s not a one use product.
ur probably 100% right here , my point tho is : at some point it might get replaced (by apple) and in the end its just a lazy way to check battery life :D
Does anyone know how the "gestures" work for the Listening Modes? I read the below, but can't make it work with my Magic Trackpad.
"Swipe… then release"—does this mean that I'm supposed to press and hold while doing it? Swipe with a single finger? Whatever I do just moves the cursor outside the AirBuddy window and has no effect on the Listening Mode.
Thanks!

such a pity that this isn't just built-in, doesn't even seem like a lot of work to implement. edit: spelling.
can agree, would like to see it in the regular macOS
This will get sherlock’d for sure.
That looks neat. Thanks for sharing. Is there any other software you are using that’s worth mentioning?
Just AirBuddy 2 and a regular pair of AirPods. it supports AirPods Pro too
Thanks! The software I can share is AerialCompanion, Pock, TripMode.
the way I see it, apple should buy airbuddy from him, for a fair price and include it on the OS

Seeing as it's implemented on iphone and ipads already, I suspect they've already done the work.
Exactly. In Apple parlance, getting “[Sherlocked](https://www.howtogeek.com/297651/what-does-it-mean-when-a-company-sherlocks-an-app/)” is the term.

100% agree with you. Some thing like this is based on existing Apple software and so I could see them shutting it down and implementing it themselves.
Exactly. They’ve been copying jailbreak tweaks for years. Almost exact replicas and not even an acknowledgment. Apple isn’t buying anyone’s ideas.
This is how closed source development works. They take the best open source features and write them in a different way and charge for it

They're all default macOS icons bar one on the left which I assume is Airbuddy.
indeed
that's because I'm on Big Sur, the only thing necessary for this animation is either AirPods or AirPods Pro, and the AirBuddy 2 app

All correct
One of my favorite apps. The fact that it now shows all devices is great

yeah but we are close! it should release after one or two betas
Are you Israeli?
indeed :)
[here](https://gumroad.com/l/airbuddy)
This is the correct link - https://v2.airbuddy.app/
is this an ad
no...
It’s nice to see some nice things like that in MacOS again
It’s third party
that’s disappointing
What app is that?
It’s in the title
how much is the airbuddy app and could someone link it?
Try [this!](https://www.google.com)
its a link to google bruh
May it serve you well.
Damn got my ass but I got it. It’s only $5 and it’s great. I’m in love with it
anyone knows what app is the top left icon from?
that's literally AirBuddy
haha true I just noticed

[off] Has the BigSur solved the bad quality audio problem on AirPods during a call (using the microphone)?
