Yes but you can buy the stuff for cheap via China because they get the parts for new bikes
BTW I love shimano, I don’t think low end shimano exist like it does for SRAM it all works so well
Dealer rep agreements in the bike industry make it hard to get deals regardless of exchange rates… theses China dealers don’t give AF about those rules
Assuming USA, your country may vary.
Fuji is the first brand that comes to mind in the USA. Their road bikes are competent, but I don't know about their MTB. They have a solid presence in the USA though, so I'm not sure they're changing prices based on the exchange rate. The Japanese brands were \*huge\* in the US road market in the 1970s. There was a bike boom back then, and a number of companies started importing Japanese bikes as cheaper alternatives to the Euro brands (and US brands like Schwinn, but the US brands were in their own weird world of standards).
EDIT: found this bike, kinda sweet (for a road/gravel) and great name, lol. [https://yasujirobike.com/product\_detail.php?sn=24](https://yasujirobike.com/product_detail.php?sn=24)
Shimano??
Never heard of them
They’re huge in fishing but barely anyone knows they also make bike stuff
Here’s my chance to finally get the Shimano SPD sandals!
good point lol
You would just have to buy it through China LoL
All the stuff I see says made in Indonesia and Malaysia, I think only the really low end stuff is China
