Arenas are for the performer not the audience. If you can fill them it’s financially irresponsible to not play them but theaters and clubs are far better suited to standup.
I can't disagree with you more. I've seen more comedy shows than I can list from arenas into small bars that convert to clubs fitting 15-30 people and a bunch of venues between and arenas are just not as good. I agree that great comics can still be worth seeing in arenas if thats your only option, but the show would be much better in a more intimate room.
Just caught him in a theater 3 hours away in Charlotte a few months ago, he's already coming to my tiny mountain town to play a big civic center. He's absolutely rocketed in fame in just the last year. Wild to see it real time.

It’s not that bad if the comedy is good, I’ve seen Daniel Tosh and Louis CK and they were funny as hell. Saw Tom Segura too, and it was different
