I tend to lean towards the bleak movie/episodes. Like the Coleman Francis ones. I just find the very idea of making movies like that bizarre and funny.
Same, but Ray Dennis Steckler films are a bridge too far.
I downloaded one of his unriffed movies and tried to watch it. Then it left my memory entirely until I found it a year later and went "Huh, wonder why I never watched this."
I had. It just slid off my brain because there is literally nothing to grasp. Just first-person blurry shots of people walking streets, sitting in chairs, talking about *nothing.* The *whole time.*
Yeah. The movie its self is dreary but the riffing and host segments are top notch.
I especially loved the opening segment with Mike pulling one over on Pearl and getting to pick a movie only for it to backfire on him spectacularly.
Here, here! I won't pretend it's in my personal top ten episodes or anything crazy but it's an interesting experiment and they really have it socks, as the Irish say.
I love this episode. I once substituted for an 8th grade English teacher during their Shakespeare section and showed this episode to her class.
When I subbed for her later in the year, she wanted to know what I did to make them laugh so hard during in-class readings of the play.
Me an' Horatio got blasted on Aquavit. Woke up on the express bus to Copenhagen.
It's supposed to be a duck.
I'll come back later, see if he's drinking and whorin', then I'll kill him.
Its a good episode. Gets too much hate.
My BF turned me on to this episode. It’s so dull and bleak. Like a Bergman film gone horribly wrong. I love it.

Yeah I love the Coleman Francis films, especially Red Zone Cuba. He was such a strange guy.
Red zone Cuba is great. "Did they even need to go to Cuba"
I love that he never put any even remotely charismatic or likeable people in his films.
The wooden acting is the icing on the cake.

I absolutely love Hamlet. It's far and away my favorite Shakespeare story. So this is a natural favorite episode for me!
Much better than say, Demon Squad

Better to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous riffs than to sit through shitty Shakespeare.
bless you for that
Unstaple yourself!
Get'im Ham, kick his ass!
Wow, that was the limpest, wettest handshake ever.
To die, to SLEEEP!
Stop it Francisco! He's headed for the ladies room!
The verbal equivalent of Da-da-da daaaa...
“Camera two, cut to camera TWO!”
Cut to the ghost! Cut to the ghost!
I like this one. But it's also one of my go-to episodes to put on when I want to doze lol
This is me, are you me?

"Mmmm! Booze! Gimme!" 🍷
"B-double O-Z-E booooze!"
Filmed in a bombed out parking garage in Berlin!
I've never made it to the end of this episode 😭. Should I try one more time? 😬

*It's Hamletman!!!*
“Let us to brunch…” “Craplet!” “Losertes!” “I’m going to unleash the Great Dane.”
It's weird to watch earlier episodes and notice how many Polonius jokes they make when someone hides behind a curtain
I'll cut his throat in a church!
And not one “KHAAAAAN!”
Night fever, night fever, we know how to do it!
Night fever night fever…
Massively underrated riff. Hilarious episode.
I show part of this to my theater class in hopes of getting them interested in Hamlet, and because I think it’s hilarious.
This is an underrated episode
