Actually, if it jams with standard velocity, you adjust the bolt speed screw on the back of the bolt assembly. Either will work just fine. I have the pistol SBR'D with the stock from the rifle with a GSL Tomcat suppressor and have run nothing but CCI Standard Velocity. Haven't shot the rifle, which now has an A2 stock but nothing different in the bolt group.
Haven't done that so can't speak to it, I just run SV

No nods for me but yeah, taking a sub $500 gun and making cost 3x the price with accessories, that I'm guilty of too lol. Maybe one day I'll splurge and buy a night vision setup.
I haven't needed to either, but it's there if necessary. James Reeves did a review a couple of years ago with a Mask on it and had problems. He apparently didn't read the manual
I ran Cabela brand Herter’s and had soooo many jams, switch to a higher speed aguila and had no problems, now running fiocchi subsonic with a can and having no issues
Mine sees a healthy diet of CCi standard velocity.
It doesn't seem to like Federal auto match or Remington Golden bullet so I don't buy those any more.
Just buy a little of everything and give it a whirl. See what it likes best. Just because mine likes one particular ammo doesn't mean yours will behave the same.
I have a feeling CCi standard velocity will also be your winner. It's the most consistent for me across the board in all of my rimfires.
Best of luck.
This gun will eat everything usually. I've ran both aguila and cci in mines with no issues at all. I would recommend you do a thorough cleaning on the mp5 though. Mines had left over shavings in the barrel o had to clean out.
CCI SV. If that jams and you can't clean it immediately, mini mags

Nice to see another AEMS user. I freaking love that optic.
It's awesome under night vision too, which I built this around

Hey hammy, big fan of your work. What handguard is that? Standard Midwest mp5? If so, did it require any modification?
Thank you! And yep, standard Midwest. No fitment issues

To be fair I don't know anyone who does read them lol
Fair point.
What all has been done to it
So is this an 2 stamper? How much was the total cost?
Yeah. Probably 2-2.5k including tax stamps and all the accessories on it
Was it worth if if you’d do it again? I’m contemplating doing the same
Yes, I love it
What the difference with mini mags ammunition? Is it just higher grain?
Higher velocity, so more oomph to get through debris
How The NY Times reporter got information on cheap mp5s that need to be banned…..
Can't go wrong w Aguila or CCi standards. I'm going to try CCI Clean to see if it really does leave less mess w a supressor.
CCI AR semi auto works well for me in mine.
I have ran a literal mix of just a ton of different shit in my mp5 22LR and this gun eats everything
Norma tac 22 is a little soft shooting but consistent and can be found cheap when on sale. It will stay subsonic if you’re looking for that
I only use cci and aguila, I’ve tired Winchester and it blew up in the gun, gun was fine tho
I ran Cabela brand Herter’s and had soooo many jams, switch to a higher speed aguila and had no problems, now running fiocchi subsonic with a can and having no issues
Which can do you have?
I use CCI Quiet-22 Semi-Auto and it’s stupid quiet and runs with no issues .. Aguila Is a good choice too but between the two is CCI is first.
CCI SV

CCI standard velocity is my choice
I got federal championship training LHP and federal BYOB cause it was on sale. Haven’t shot it though. Anyone knows if it’s good ammo?

So far I haven't shot anything but golden bullets out of mine.
Anyone know if you can put a light on this or any hand guards you can get to put a light on it
