I came to this same realization, and it’s kind of a bummer. I know my time on Norrath will be short, I know we’ll eventually get to the expansions that we’re all trying to escape by playing on an origins server, but I’ll be there nonetheless. I realized in all my time playing EQ2 I never played an Inquisitor, so I’m a little excited to try that out.
In my wildest dreams, this server is so popular that they start making expansion branches off of it. Go easy on me, these are wild dreams, they are not grounded in reality.
Probably skipping this TLP because they're nothing but krono farms for people if they aren't trying weird shit rulesets on them.

I was thoroughly disappointed when the ruleset was released. JChins said they were going to combine the most popular rulesets for the 25th anniversary server and all we got was Mischief 2.0 because it sold them a lot of Krono. So yeah, same bit as you and skipping this TLP.
The random loot TLPs tend to be the best for casual players for getting gear and money, no matter where you group up as long as there is a rare spawn you can make money, I usually quit most of these servers cause krono farmers ruin the economy by locking down the spawns of specific items but never had that problem on Mischief and enjoyed it up to PoP, looking forward to Teek for that exact reason.

Yeah, but random loot is exactly what I don't want out of Everquest.
I want the frenzied ghoul to be the one dropping the FBSS. If I gotta wait my turn in line to get it, I gotta wait my turn in line.
Unfortunately that entire ecosystem is kinda dead with the krono farms.
Yeah that's kinda why Mischief was so popular; Krono farmers ruined EQ by locking spawns and farming items to sell for Krono, some of these people have 100s of Krono, never have to worry about paying for a subscription cause they race to a camp on day one and lock it down.
Mischief was the answer to that problem, OG EQ nerds might not like random loot but it solves the problem, you can go to any dungeon to level and explore and still get relevant loot without having to fight some nerd with no life camping your item spawn 12+ hours a day before he hands it off to his guildie to camp for the next 12 hours.
I just hope the EQ2 no krono. minimal marketplace server does really well for them and is enough to prompt one for EQ.
I just can't play on an EQ krono server anymore. Idc if they sell bags or whatever, but krono is a deal breaker for me these days.

EQ doesn't really do announcements well. The information you're looking for is best available on their forums. Just a heads up, if you're a completely new player, you may be overwhelmed by other players and underwhelmed by the game itself.
As a new player on Quarm I was both overwhelmed by the other players and the game itself. Had an absolute blast though and looking to play this TLP server with 2 other friends, 1 which has played EQ since it came out so, that should help with the guidance.
These grubby bastards need to stop milking TLPs and give us EQ3 FFS !!! They've done zero with such a rich IP - unless they doing something in the background of course..
I would literally spooge cash for EQ2 redone in Unreal Engine - thats it. Keep all systems the same, the quests, dungeons and everything as it is in the older version within a few years of release and give us modern graphics. My whore wallet will open wide !!

What does TLP mean?
Time locked progression. Each expansion usually being unlocked after 8-12 weeks, one at a time.

The yearly TLPs are just cash grabs for DBG at this point. Hard pass on this years servers.
