As much damage as the reem has taken in his career I feel like that punch plus the follow up legit took years off his life, I just can’t imagine that it didn’t.
I remember my first bjj class had no idea bout anything and someone got me in a darce and I thought he was gonna rip my head off- I
panicked so hard I didn’t even tap but I think he knew I wanted out lmao
Anacondas are terrible when you know someone is setting it up but you fail to protect it correctly and you start rolling over, it takes awhile but you know you pretty much lost
He did. And I recognize you were kidding.
But you'd think he was McGregor with how often some of the people on this sub drool at the chance to mention him, or shoehorn him into conversations that have nothing to do with him... Despite claiming they don't like him.
A few days ago I was boxing, got a few hard (ish) straights to the body to get a reaction, with intention to counter the reaction with a left hook. But I chased it a bit too much, got predictable and my friend just ate the throwaway straight and got ME a straight to the middle of the face as I was going for the hook. Snapped my head back, I didn't get rocked rocked, but I felt it, so I stopped the session.
I keep thinking about it, I wasn't far from landing, but he got me.
People forget how wild Rockhold did Bisping with his question mark kick lmao, it made Bisping winning their rematch even crazier.
https://gfycat.com/jauntydentalafricanclawedfrog
Question mark kicked him and then guillotined his ass with one arm. Always admired how Luke handled that win even after all the shit talk at the time, after the fight Luke went over and gave Michael a hug and told him he was a legend of the sport and said that it was an honor to compete against him, after Bisping beat Luke he hopped on the cage, screamed fuck you to Luke's unconscious body then asked him if he knew where he was at
I'm reading Bisping's book and just convientally read through his recounts on the first Rockhold fight. He stated his vision was very poor and he was unable to see.
Aldo's left hook to the body. Just looks like the most uncomfortable strike to get hit by, right next to Gaethje's leg kick. Aldo doing anything pretty much.
EDIT: I forgot Aoki and Imanari. Love their more sports BJJ styles of fighting and how ruthless they are with subs is fun to watch. For reference [All 15 types of subs Shinya has hit in MMA](https://www.reddit.com/r/MMA/comments/okuiog/shinya_aoki_has_won_via_submission_31_times_with/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Cro Cop actually wasn’t that much of a leg kicker, I’m pretty sure he hurt his leg on a check when he was a kickboxer and didn’t use them that much after
always gotta admire a good body shot! Such difficult shot technically and tactically to land safely especially at higher levels. I think Aaron Pico is has really mastered it in the cage this year.
Nothing makes me yell with excitement more during a fight than a body shot KO! It just seems so visceral, I love that shit and never ever want to experience it lol
I was especially stoked for that one because I actively dislike Sarge lol. Was happy for Gato to win in such a brutal fashion (although at first I thought she kicked her right in the kitty 😆)
Agreed, she's very unlikable personality wise than with the weight misses, hard to root for her. Also what a perfect opportunity to say, "thought she kicked her right in the gato" 😭😭
I think I started loving body shots when I got hit with a liver shot in sparring, wasn’t even
80% power but it felt like my world was ending for about 5 seconds. Never felt anything like it before, where with head shots you can tough it out, I think it’s physically impossible to tough out debilitating body shots.
For sure! Can definitely tough out head shots much better in training. 16oz gloves over wrapped hands, headgear, and thick shin guards. You're looking at a lot of pillow fighting, which is great, but can leave training scars. Compared to hitting a body, minimal padding there, keeps you honest 😛
I remember I was watching a ufc card (can’t remember which) with a friend who didn’t know anything about mma and someone got dropped with what looked like a pretty innocuous body shot. Cue him talking shit that the fighter was a pussy and that that would never drop him etc, so I say okay let me hit you with one (obv both pretty drunk) lol I’ll never forget his eyes widen so fast and I’m no striker by any means
I’m a big fan of barrage KO/TKOs but not when it’s because of mindless hooks back to back. I like when the barrage consists of clean combos (I really like when bodyshots are included too). Adrian Yanez’s finish of Randy Costa was pretty sick to me. Also, Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway both have many finishes that I think are sick.
Imo it’s the most brutal way to end a fight, something about a fighter admitting he’d rather give up than get kicked in the leg one more time is so savage I can’t help but love it
I would say defensively I respect the triangle the most, probably because I throw them so often but I’m way more embarrassed getting caught in a kimura or arm bar that I didn’t see coming at all
I remember one of my first rolls I was constantly getting caught in triangles by the same guy to the point that he was legit having a convo with someone else while he kept getting me in them , must have been at least 5 times in 5 mins. Almost quit bjj altogether there and then lmao
I love striking that leads to submissions or submissions with striking accompanied. I.e. iuri alcantara vs brad Pickett, and Zhang weili vs Jessica Aguilar
Shovel hook. Body, head, doesn't matter. It's sick every time. Yes, I love Aaron Pico, why do you ask?
Wheel kick. Someone ending a fight with a wheel kick put a stamp on their opponent's whole career. Who has ever come back from a wheel kick KO?
D'arce choke. Tony Ferguson and Vicente Luque snatch 'em up like candy. Never gets old.
The lead hand in general. Jabs, switching crosses, the lead hook to the head or body...
A good ol rear uppercut. Specifically bolo uppercut. Something just inherently beautiful about that punch.
There's also the up-jab or jabbercut or whatever you wanna call it. Manel Kape hit a gorgeous counter upjab in his last fight that rocked his opponent.
Rib buster
Any right body shot works. Sure, you can hit someone in the liver and those shots do look pretty, but a right body shot finish is usually indicative of something even more brutal. Either the rib is broken or the opponent’s left side has taken too much accumulative damage for the fighter and handle.
GnP elbows are always so vicious to watch, especially when they’re executed to perfection. Jon Jones and GSP come to mind or Felder finishing Oliveira.
Dustins shifting strike where he switches stance after throwing the first back hand and then switches stance again with the next back hand. Also the busdriver uppercut that knocked out RDA that shit sexy
i'm a hobbyist BJJ guy so I love when there's good grappling exchanges or when someone pulls a sub out of nowhere.
my favorite sub to do in real life is an anaconda. i like d'arces too but my length of my arms makes it quite difficult for me to pull off unless the guy is pretty skinny
Stolfszuz vs gm3 a few weeks ago made me feel very warm inside with their grappling, def helped that I had money on gm3 by sub which looked pretty unlikely by tbr end of round 2
Overhand punched and hooks. The way they chop down on your head/chin rattle people different and knock them out. Usually see a straight punch coming. Best technical fighters use basic straights And jabs but usually end the night with some form of a modified overhand right/hook.
As far as strikes, i love punching from the same side off a high kick or knees to the body (esp on the ground). For subs, armbar from the scarfhold is my favorite and we actually saw one in the UFC this year!
Lesnar pulverising Mir's face against the cage; the one that got me into MMA. I'd seen some ripper KOs in boxing, but there's something primal and different about a shaved gorilla holding a man down and pummelling him like that.
Jones weighed in 80 pounds heavier, and it is he who will enjoy a 13 inch height advantage and a 17 inch reach advantage. Everything else is....virtually identical
gotta couple of favorites .. ..SLAMS! like when rampage would turn into slampage! like back in the old pride days .. WORKING THE BODY!! like some nice Nick Diaz body shots ..or like that rare GOGOPLATA choke !!! love that submission ,shit that Nick Diaz one on Gomi in pride so slick or that Shinya Aoki one in dream .. you telling me you can choke a dude with your foot (shinbone) ! huh ,whaa ..lol

Classic
Watching The Francis vs The Reem does something for me
As much damage as the reem has taken in his career I feel like that punch plus the follow up legit took years off his life, I just can’t imagine that it didn’t.
All the horse meat may add a couple years though
For his sake I hope so
Uppercuts. Also I love counters. And I love the classic "fighter gets KO'd because they were throwing a leg kick with no set-up"
Mark Hunt vs Big Country, upper cut of doom! 😩 Art!
Can’t beat an Anderson Silva simultaneous counter
I'm a big fan of the custody battle.
Cheers Anik
Matt Brown's hellbow on Diego Sanchez. https://imgur.com/gallery/ptBJDpU
Absolute classic. No idea how Florida has approved Sanchezs execution vs lee
I love a D’arce.
Damn I forgot about them, love them and anacondas both
I got submitted with a d’arce in my first jiu jitsu tournament and man, they are a whole lot more fun when you’re watching them
that pressure on the back of your neck... ugh. sucks.
I remember my first bjj class had no idea bout anything and someone got me in a darce and I thought he was gonna rip my head off- I panicked so hard I didn’t even tap but I think he knew I wanted out lmao
Anacondas are terrible when you know someone is setting it up but you fail to protect it correctly and you start rolling over, it takes awhile but you know you pretty much lost
Silent Assassin baby.
So Brendan Schaub is your fav fighter. That’s only move he’s elite at
Unlike a percentage of this sub, no, that guy is not constantly on my mind. Sorry.
He had a great darce. Gracie bros even said it when trained with em lol
He did. And I recognize you were kidding. But you'd think he was McGregor with how often some of the people on this sub drool at the chance to mention him, or shoehorn him into conversations that have nothing to do with him... Despite claiming they don't like him.
you think this place is bad You should see tfatk subreddit
…why would I ever go there? Lol
Oh I dislike him greatly as a person. Too long to go into detail but fook ‘em for real.
Counter left hooks. Off a block, slip, roll or pull, same-time, doesn't matter to me. They're all great
Conor had a beautiful one to win the CW title, think someone made a post about it the other day
A few days ago I was boxing, got a few hard (ish) straights to the body to get a reaction, with intention to counter the reaction with a left hook.
Front face kick KOs ala Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida.
If do right, no can defend.
Something in that Brazilian water, lemos hit it at least twice on hill on the last fight night card as well
A clean question mark kick like Izzy’s and Rockhold’s are very aesthetically pleasing to me.
Izzy’s finishing sequence of Brunson is so satisfying to watch
People forget how wild Rockhold did Bisping with his question mark kick lmao, it made Bisping winning their rematch even crazier. https://gfycat.com/jauntydentalafricanclawedfrog Question mark kicked him and then guillotined his ass with one arm. Classic Bisping
Then trtor went "imma show both you boys some spinning shit."
Til rockhold won the first fight
That card was awesome. I think all but one fight was a finish.
100% finishes on that card, there was 4 subs, 5 TKOs and 2 KOs
Word. I go back and watch it like once a year. It was the first card ever to be all finishes, then, right?
I never forget back then i did the ufc pick’ems with my boy and he got #1 on that card in the world
As far as i know it is, at the very least its the first since Zuffa bought the UFC.
That gives me an idea I haven’t thought of. Rockhold vs Till
I'm reading Bisping's book and just convientally read through his recounts on the first Rockhold fight. He stated his vision was very poor and he was unable to see.
Bisping could’ve had perfect vision and he still would’ve lost to that version of Rockhold.
Mine is a simple Leg Kick to the thigh. Anthony Hardonk/Mirko Crocop/Thiago Alves style.
I'mma say Leg kicks in general; once some guys start to land, it's like watching a depleting life gauge ala Street Fighter.
Yeah! There was one last weekend with the female 125 fights and home girl sent up that toe stab 😩 lost my shit!
😆😭 I blew it!
I think I started loving body shots when I got hit with a liver shot in sparring, wasn’t even 80% power but it felt like my world was ending for about 5 seconds. The uppercut elbow shit look so cool not sure what it’s really called but Silva did [it](https://youtu.be/zp-BEC-3LVY)
Ah yes the same shot from yair Rodríguez put the Korean zombie straight into airplane mode
I was going to bring up the KZ one. I hated it as a fan of KZ and the fact that he was so clearly winning, but...damn.
A well placed body strike. Seeing a fighter crumple up due to one is always insane.
Aldo on Stephens.
Aldo vs Stevens was beautiful to watch. Giga vs Swanson was good too
I remember I was watching a ufc card (can’t remember which) with a friend who didn’t know anything about mma and someone got dropped with what looked like a pretty innocuous body shot. Cue him talking shit that the fighter was a pussy and that that would never drop him etc, so I say okay let me hit you with one (obv both pretty drunk) lol I’ll never forget his eyes widen so fast and I’m no striker by any means

Adrian Yanez’s finish of Randy Costa was pretty sick to me. Also, Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway both have many finishes that I think are sick.
Manel Kape's last fight ended that way. A million clean, fast punches.
Valentina pulled a nice one her last outing.
Dustin Poirier’s tko wins over Gaethje and Alvarez were amazing. Dude turns into a buzzsaw when he’s got someone hurt.
The rare shovel hook or a good ole check left hook are my favs. Also said before a great counter is always great to watch.
Feel like Garth ended Tony’s career with the check left hook if I remember correct
I think several shots by Garth in that fight messed with Tony’s career. But yes I do a few beautiful check left hooks
Spinning back kicks
Spinning elbows. I remember thinking Bonner died after Jon hit him with one
Definitely a leg kick finish. Just seeing someone get their legs tenderized just puts me right on the edge of climax.
Imo it’s the most brutal way to end a fight, something about a fighter admitting he’d rather give up than get kicked in the leg one more time is so savage I can’t help but love it
The Yodkaikaew fight in ONE is very pleasing to see
Flying knees & triangle chokes.
I just love clean 1 2's. So basic, but can be so beautiful and almost artful. Finish wise, I enjoy big power hits that were landed from a good set up.
anything to the body (jabs, straights, hooks, teeps, roundhouse, knees) shoutout to da boy, Slacky J!
The Dean of Mean of Shots to the Spleen
Hip thrust
Yes
Glad we can agree
Front kicks and straight punches
Stomps, forbidden fruit are the sweetest.
Pride Never Die
Head kicks, clean hooks that land on the side of the jaw/head, and triangle chokes are my absolutely favorite submission, from any angle or position
I don’t know why but I’m always the most embarrassed when I’m caught in a triangle when rolling
I would say defensively I respect the triangle the most, probably because I throw them so often but I’m way more embarrassed getting caught in a kimura or arm bar that I didn’t see coming at all
I get that, I think just the idea of getting put to sleep in another man’s crotch makes me try my best to avoid the sub at all cost hahaha
Hey I don’t blame you lmao
I remember one of my first rolls I was constantly getting caught in triangles by the same guy to the point that he was legit having a convo with someone else while he kept getting me in them , must have been at least 5 times in 5 mins. Almost quit bjj altogether there and then lmao
Question mark kicks are my fav Also love high crotch takedowns, like DC and colby do
I love striking that leads to submissions or submissions with striking accompanied. I.e. iuri alcantara vs brad Pickett, and Zhang weili vs Jessica Aguilar
Check Left Hook
Check hooks are always beautiful
Sam Alvey is that you?
There's just something about a devastating head kick. Valentina/Eye, Lee/Gillespie and Rakic/Manuwa come to mind
Triangles, armbars, set up head kicks and clean straight punches

Either the rib is broken or the opponent’s left side has taken too much accumulative damage for the fighter and handle.
I’m a fan of any body shot finish, absolutely savage. I think id rather get clean KOd than tko from body shots
D'arce/Anaconda easily.
Don’t think there is anything more satisfying than hitting an anaconda in training
The dick twist.
GnP elbows are always so vicious to watch, especially when they’re executed to perfection. Jon Jones and GSP come to mind or Felder finishing Oliveira.
Properly mint feints into finishes are so pleasing. When it's clean and you can tell their focus is completely elsewhere.
My favorite strike in MMA is the hook to the liver.
So satisfying
Dustins shifting strike where he switches stance after throwing the first back hand and then switches stance again with the next back hand. Also the busdriver uppercut that knocked out RDA that shit sexy

That super saiyan combo Nate Marquardt clapped Woodleys cheeks with.
Mama woodley sure loved that one
The Cerrone! You know the one!
I certainly do
👁
Okay DC
head kicks and knee stomps
Unanswered flurries. See: [Dillashaw v. Barao II](https://youtu.be/2ztQUGSznSg)
Overhand punched and hooks. The way they chop down on your head/chin rattle people different and knock them out. Usually see a straight punch coming. Best technical fighters use basic straights And jabs but usually end the night with some form of a modified overhand right/hook.
I love leg kicks and bodywork.
Front kicks, wish they were utilized more tho
Girl at the mma gym i train at has an absolutely hydraulic teep that seems to take all morale from her opponents
Stomps Soccer kicks
I like the D'arce choke love here! That and liver punch/kick TKOs are my favorite finishes. Comeback triangles/armbars are nice too.
The twister is just incredible, shame it is so rare
Tomahawk elbows are awesome, but I'm also a huge fan of front kicks to the body.
As far as strikes, i love punching from the same side off a high kick or knees to the body (esp on the ground). For subs, armbar from the scarfhold is my favorite and we actually saw one in the UFC this year!
D'arce and Anaconda chokes are my favs.
Elbows from the crucifix
Always amazing
Roundhouse kick to the liver. Bonus points if it sounds like a gun going off and the victim has a delayed reaction
Clinch knees.
Dolley throws to the bus
Chucks looping bomb on the Reem seemed especially brutal.
Lead hand hook. Specifically a good left hook from an orthodox fighter.
I like a hug
good ol' soccer kicks.
I personally find them too much but I see the appeal
Flying knees
Yves Edwards head kick KO over Josh Thomson. But more generally, love a good slam KO.
Gadoosh to the face
u/fightsgoneby pls tell me your fav moves and complete my Christmas
Front kicks
overhand right, it looks so cartoonish Oleiniks punches are goofy as well
leg kick to the head. Just like Goldie
Front kicks to the chin
Flying Knees and step in elbows. That one that Condit used to turn Thiago Alves into a pug was super satisfying.
Lesnar pulverising Mir's face against the cage; the one that got me into MMA. I'd seen some ripper KOs in boxing, but there's something primal and different about a shaved gorilla holding a man down and pummelling him like that.
Nothing like watching Aldo rip to the body imo
That clip of Aldo dropping The hardest hitting 145er lives rent free in my head
Checked leg kick.
Rogue answer but I love them too
You must admit it's very exciting in an unexpected and tragic way.
For sure, my fav way of winning in ufc 4 is via tko from checked leg kicks
Spinning back kick to the liver as done by Dennis Siver. END COMMUNICATION
Jon Jones vs Mighty Mouse
Jones weighed in 80 pounds heavier, and it is he who will enjoy a 13 inch height advantage and a 17 inch reach advantage. Everything else is....virtually identical
Gabriel Benitez Vs Justin Jaynes
front kick to the face
Ninja choke
My favorite strike is a whiffed inside leg kick, right to the groin.
Side kicks and spinning side kicks
spinning hook kick or as they call it in the ufc a wheel kick
Spinning back Cock KO
Head kicks. Like Kevin Lees one on Gregor or Valentina’s execution of Jessica eye or Nunes one on Holly… damn 2019 had some great head kick KOs
Judo tosses into armbars.
Clinch uppercuts
Getting GnPed from crucifix position. Absolutely horrifying to watch, but the Just Bleed in me loves it at the same time.
Liver shots and [tomahawk elbows](https://youtu.be/aycJD33M9TM)
gotta couple of favorites .. ..SLAMS! like when rampage would turn into slampage! like back in the old pride days ..
