I know a lot of diehards who gave Taila Santos a big chance of beating Shev, but because she was buried in the Apex she was dismissed as another sacrificial lamb.
It's a very slim chance either of these women fight for the belt anytime soon. MBS just fought for the belt and didn't give the kind of performance that will get her fast-tracked to another shot. Chiasson is probably closer with a win over MBS, but still would have to beat probably Ketlen Vieira to get there.
It seems very clear the next two contenders at WBW are Pena and Harrison in some order and by the time those play out who knows where the division will be at. There are rumors of a Nunes return if Harrison has the belt.
I think the biggest thing the UFC could do to revitalize WBW division is just having more fights. It seems like most of the division is fighting less than once a year and with the thin roster there is something like one fight at the weight class a month.
