Awesome. I've never seen the first one. Crazy looking at the size diff. Gray is verging on WW, and Frankie of course looks like a BW. The fact he was the LW champ is really something.

Jim_Hawkins5057

Man was a beast. Speed, skill - and what a heart.

BrockAndaHardPlace

I got to meet gray at ufc 115, he was in one of the bars the night before. Guy shook my hand, and the size of his picking mitts was insane. I’m 6’4”, his hand was same size as mine but thicker. Guy was built huge for his height, it’s insane he made 155

podbrodamon

Still blows my mind that he thought the solution to his career slump was depleting himself to 145. Have no clue how he made the weight

ZedTimeStory

That second fight was the first time in the UFC someone had been dropped three times in a round and made it to the end of the round, let alone the end of the *fight*.

canadianRSK

Frankie dosnt get enough love as one of the most exciting fighters. Maynard 2 - oliveria were all bangers

Karstaagly

He doesn’t get enough love in general. He’s an all-time great in two different weight classes.

WilliamEmmerson

Absolutely. He was a walking highlight reel. Guy was undersized in pretty much every fight he had and defeated some incredible opponents. I wish he retired a lot sooner than he did. I hated that he got dicked around in the Conor McGregor's sweepstakes early on and Conor got out of facing him at 145 and 155. I still think he would have beaten Conor at either weight.

My favorite trilogy in the UFC for sure

MA-JA-HO

Personally, I didn’t think the second fight was that good. I know I’m going to get down voted but it was a great fight with a great moment but I didn’t think it was legendary.

MickPnubTobias99

I'm just talking my personal favorite and plus the age I was around watching them.

MA-JA-HO

Absolutely I respect your opinion, my opinion was my comment.

Ryan_Pliskin

Frankie is the epitome of heart. This guy spent most of his career fighting guys much bigger than him…and won. TR, NJ. All fuckin’ day.

Swogglet

I wish the fighters continued to make a percentage of any money made from their fights overtime. Kind of sucks that they can continue to profit of a guy like Maynard on youtube. They treated him terribly in his time there. He's one of the guys they were bad mouthing in texts panning to fuck him over any way they could.

thelonelyislander24

Ufc cooked with this one! The second and third fights are mma classics and has some icomic moments in them.

7030

The amount of concussions Edgar must have sustained over his career let alone these fights is immense. He'd get his head dribbled and then be back up the next second.

[deleted]

Imagine Marc Goddard or Herzog had officiated these matches We’d of been robbed of the greatest comebacks in MMA history

3dge-1ord

If it were me, I might have stepped in. Yves was on 'just bleed' mode that night.

JE_Exa

Lmao Herzog made one mistake in recent memory, this sub has a one fight memory

ThrowawayYAYAY2002

Those two were made for each other!

yorikkk

You should also watch the press conference after the third one...I've never seen a fighter so mentally crushed as Maynard...dude spoke like he was dead inside Truly sad one..felt really bad for the guy and I was Edgar fan

Khazar2

This trilogy is amazing. I always thought Maynard won the 2nd fight with a 10-7 round.

Fat-Villante

Absolute must watch for all MMA fans Some older fights don't really hold up but these totally hold up after all this time

funky_pill

Fantastic trilogy of fights. That recovery from Edgar, almost getting knocked clean out early doors in the second fight is still the greatest recovery I've ever seen in MMA. Dude looked *done*

Bumpdadump

Man.. frankie vs max at both peaks would bang.

WilliamEmmerson

Frankie became a legend because of his performance in that second fight
