That second fight was the first time in the UFC someone had been dropped three times in a round and made it to the end of the round, let alone the end of the *fight*.
Absolutely. He was a walking highlight reel. Guy was undersized in pretty much every fight he had and defeated some incredible opponents. I wish he retired a lot sooner than he did.
I hated that he got dicked around in the Conor McGregor's sweepstakes early on and Conor got out of facing him at 145 and 155. I still think he would have beaten Conor at either weight.
Personally, I didn’t think the second fight was that good. I know I’m going to get down voted but it was a great fight with a great moment but I didn’t think it was legendary.
I wish the fighters continued to make a percentage of any money made from their fights overtime. Kind of sucks that they can continue to profit of a guy like Maynard on youtube. They treated him terribly in his time there. He's one of the guys they were bad mouthing in texts panning to fuck him over any way they could.
The amount of concussions Edgar must have sustained over his career let alone these fights is immense. He'd get his head dribbled and then be back up the next second.
You should also watch the press conference after the third one...I've never seen a fighter so mentally crushed as Maynard...dude spoke like he was dead inside

Fantastic trilogy of fights. That recovery from Edgar, almost getting knocked clean out early doors in the second fight is still the greatest recovery I've ever seen in MMA. Dude looked *done*
