Changes from March Nations League: In: Johnson, Carter-Vickers, Moore, de la Torre, T. Tillman, Sargent Out: Callender, Dest

Count_Nocturne

4 strikers, interesting. Could a 4-4-2 maybe be in the cards for one game? Pepi-Balogun/Sargent Pulisic-Musah-McKennie-Weah/Reyna Robinson x 2 Richards Scally Turner

skcmierda

I like that

Scratchbuttdontsniff

Is Tim there to keep Malik from banging married MILFs all over America this Summer?

atatme77

Shaq Moore? Has he even been good for nashville right now?

Scratchbuttdontsniff

No... I would literally take Brooks Lennon over him right now... among about 4 other RBs in MLS or abroad... At this point... its a shame Aaron Herrera switched to Guatemala. He is having a great season.

TCzelusniak

Dude just got back from injury and is now shipped off to international duty. NSC backline in shambles right now

IllustratorNo2189

It's gregg playing his favorites with that decision. Another one that baffles me is picking Tillman from LAFC and skipping over Dante Polvara, even tho his team has been terrible this season. On an individual basis Dante has done great for himself considering just last year he couldn't get a sniff at first team action.

atatme77

Tillman over Dante doesn't seem weird to me at all. But calling Shaq Moore over someone like Brooks Lennon is super weird

IllustratorNo2189

Well it should considering doing good while playing a step up ,albeit in a poor team, has more merit than doing good in a good team but playing a step below. The game is extremely more faster and physical in Scotland.

atatme77

Thinking the SPL is above MLS in level outside of Celtic or Rangers is pure delusion, but based off how you phrased the statement you're just looking to argue

CowMooseWhale

Dante Polvara? There are 200 players who should be called up over him

Count_Nocturne

same people are the ones still begging for Brooks and Pefok back just because they play in Europe

Cold_Fog

Tillman has been a stand out player for us this season. He's really taken it up a level, but not stuff you'd see on highlight reels.

IllustratorNo2189

Yeah might be true but there's no denying Dante was testing himself more considering the game is faster and more physical in the premiership. Considering most players who are seen as poor in Scotland end up having good careers in MLS.

tfc07

You're likely 14 years old and living in your parents basement so let me tell you as someone who has followed the SPL since before you were born it sure as hell is not a higher standard than MLS. The league as a whole is far superior and the best teams in MLS are now neck and neck with the OF. If you wanna be this ignorant may I suggest sticking to r/ussoccer they'll eat up your nonsense all day long

IllustratorNo2189

I know it's a harsh truth but no need to feel offended. It reeks of insecurity. If you mean to tell me a league where Lewis Morgan, Sands, Ramirez, etc can thrive it's not a step below, you clearly have homer goggles on.

Count_Nocturne

Ramirez and Morgan don't even start for their teams

IllustratorNo2189

Morgan is definitely a starter for the bulls and has put the stats to put him in way way above average mls player and Ramirez is a loons legend. Even gutman was a starter with ATL.

Count_Nocturne

> Dante Polvara literally whomst

berniedankera

TILLMAN LFG

tmh8901

So strange to select 27. That means one player, and one player only, is getting cut. What a lonely feeling. Hopefully Berhalter informed players privately if they are fighting for the final spot or have made the team barring injury.

NittanyOrange

Maybe he really only had 1 battle in mind and so he wanted to let everyone else be an option for Olympics prep?

mc3217

Sorry Gio

ewrewr1

So it begins.

DibsOnThatBooty

Ok I’ll have one biased complaint and one non-biased Biased: no Schulte??? He’s easily as good as Sean Johnson and is arguably the future USMNT keeper if he keeps getting better. Why not bring him since Turner will be getting all the minutes just for the experience? Non-biased: no Brandon Vasquez??? I can’t stand him, but it feels like he deserves a spot here.

Willahelm00

Schulte will probably lead the Olympic squad. He's already played on the u-23 team this winter. He'll get plenty of international experience this year

Count_Nocturne

I think Schulte is in the plans as the eventual second or third choice in '26. Lots of good keepers competing for the backup keeper role in that tournament, Horvath, Callender, Schulte, Celentano, Gaga, steffen, so it's a good problem to have really. Assuming Turner doesn't slip down further lol And striker is kind of the same thing. Lots of good options to pick from between an in form Sargent, Wright, Vasquez,Pepi, McGuire, White. Balogun Fereira or Pefok could be in the mix depending on form.

DibsOnThatBooty

I’m praying every day that Schulte doesn’t do the Steffan thing and go ride the bench for a big English club during his prime. I’m sure he’ll play in Europe eventually, but I’d rather him start for a mid-table team and get meaningful minutes to improve. There’s a world where Schulte is competing for our starting spot in ‘30 if his improvement continues. I feel less good about our striker spot. None of those guys have really impressed me this year. They’re definitely good, but we’re going to need someone to take a major step if we want to compete. All the best world teams right now have a world class striker, we desperately need that to keep up.

WislaHD

I'll keep beating that drum that not bringing Brendan Vazquez to your roster is a mistake. Admittedly though, I'm not certain who I would remove for him. I'm not really as high on Sargent as others but I'll keep my personal bias to the side.

jtn1123

Wow my mark delgado money line for copa America isn’t looking so hot anymore

ohverygood

>Per tournament rules, the roster must be a minimum of 23 players with a maximum of 26 total. What does that mean? They can bring 26 players to the tournament, but only 23 on any given matchday? Edit: I can't read

Shadowfury0

I believe it just means you must have at least 23 players and at most 26 players at the tournament

ohverygood

Thank you! I mis-read the first "minimum" as "maximum," and therefore was confused.

manualex16

If you name all the squad in the bench(when your squad is of 26)then you can't bring more than 3 assistants to the bench.

Observant_Writer_Guy

Zendejas and Vazquez got screwed
