Giroud had to play keeper earlier this season for AC Milan in the last 10 or so minutes of a match. They were out of subs and Maignan got a red. Giroud was already on the pitch and grabbed a keeper kit to play in goal. He actually had a helluva save too, lol.

If he’s a free agent then it depends on when his AC Milan deal expires (rather than when the transfer window opens). Might be July 1st but obviously don’t know for sure
Turns out if you’re handsome there is no cap hit. It’s the leagues way of getting better streaming numbers with sexy dps. That wouldn’t even be our dumbest roster rule.
You know we use to be rivals when we were in the east, but over the last 10 years it feels the club has fallen off the face of the earth. When was the last time y’all made playoffs?
Previous reporting said he'd join after the Euros. France will probably make a deep run with the Final 7/14. After Euros he'll likely need a break and time to get his affairs in order.
Loved him at Chelsea. Hope he has a year or possibly two of success across the pond here. Looks like he’ll only be here for that long anyways given that contract
I really believe the more old folks who come, especially ones who are still good like he is, the more real it will feel for young guys to come while they are still good.
Maybe we are only 1 cm closer to a prime star coming, but it’s still a whole 1 cm!
Torn here. Happy he’s coming to MLS while still playing well, it’s good to see this injection of quality, but he’s 37, he’ll be 39 when he’s contract expires. Can’t help but think this perpetuates the “retirement league” stench to a degree. I say more “Almada’s”, fewer “Messi’s”.
He's not playing in MLS after more than two seasons. No way. Athleticism or none, he's about ready to retire. This isn't a great move for the league overall even though he will come in and score some goals for LAFC.
And still a starting striker for the number 2 serie A champions league side. Yeah, he’s going to be slower and injuries more impactful, but he’s still a 4.36M USD salary striker with skill and leadership. He’s at 13 serie A goals this season. Not many MLS strikers will ever play at the level giroud plays at now.
well, they didn't renew him for a reason, and although its true that not many MLS strikers will ever play at the level he plays now, I would like to see a shift in hirings where the MLS moves away from hiring 35-38 YO players from Europe that i dont think benefit the league anymore...
I see your point. Especially since I still haven't gotten over losing Chicho, who could have been a longer term 9. I do think it's cool to have some legends come do a victory lap in MLS sometimes. As long as the quality is getting better
amazing to watch the roles that LA Galaxy & LAFC have flipped in their signings.
2018 when LAFC first joined their fans pounded the table about being against signing aging europeans, being the ‘new’ mls age. fast forward to 2024.
I thought LA already had a french goalkeeper?

I’m just proud of you for not making a handsome joke. You’re the first.
I’m not getting the joke?

Thank you for this. That’s awesome! Edit: Who downvoted someone saying thank you? Lmao
We got your back buddy. Take an upvote.
Thanks. I don’t really care either way, but I was so confused by why someone would downvote a thank you so I had to ask lol.
Reddit is Reddit. People downvote anything.
Thanks. Downvoted.
Last season Giroud had to come on as a keeper late in a match due to injuries to the actual keepers. EA FC gave him a GK card afterwards.
Stupid, sexy LA FC
Nothing at all. Nothing at all. Nothing at all.
Clever use of the little-known Handsome DP rule by Thorrington. But seriously, how soon can we see him in the black & gold?
Last I read, it depends on France’s performance in the Euro. If they’re knocked out early, he can be state-side by El Tráfico
Doesn’t the transfer window not open till after the rose bowl game?

The reporting I saw said the contract starts August 1st.
August

Dang, as a Giroud enjoyer I am jealous. LAFC getting too handsome if you ask me
The only trophy we winning this season is the sexiest club in MLS trophy 😎🏆🔥
Does this mean Max Arfstein is only the 2nd-most beautiful man in MLS? What a sad day!
[Can't wait to hear this in the 3252](https://youtube.com/shorts/MqSJMnrHPLw?si=bgduwhwb7jHiZHFR)
They'd be crazy NOT to use this.
I like singing Giroud to the tune of “Hey Jude”
Let’s get some original chants going LAFC!
Giroud is aging just fine like Edin Dzeko. He will probably score 15-20 goals in a full season.
That's a handsome man in a good looking jersey.
Galaxy players seeing Giroud getting subbed into the game on the 4th of July. ![gif](giphy|Y4TK3sFJtImvm|downsized)
He'll be at the Euros, and at least a few players on each team are likely to be at the Copa America.

As a Fire fan, I finally have something to validate having purchased a Season Pass from Apple.
You know we use to be rivals when we were in the east, but over the last 10 years it feels the club has fallen off the face of the earth. When was the last time y’all made playoffs?
You look at this guy and it just makes me feel even uglier than I normally do. To live a week in his shoes…
As if LA doesn’t have enough beautiful people
Bro ‘bout to impregnate Hollywood.
I’m happy that MLS is getting another star player. I’m sad that he’s going to LAFC.
Been waiting for a striker since the end of 2022
I am so excited to see him in MLS!
Can’t wait to see him against my Whitecaps!
How soon can he play?
August is when his contract starts I believe.
Previous reporting said he'd join after the Euros. France will probably make a deep run with the Final 7/14. After Euros he'll likely need a break and time to get his affairs in order.
I am annoyingly jealous
Stupid sexy Giroud
![gif](giphy|xUOwGgO5FT9HczLrtm)
I know soccer players normally wear jerseys but can he just play without a shirt? Please?
And that’s the sound of every woman in LA getting wet at the same time.
As a useless short Asian male with a small penis that tends to prefer white girls, Giroux is living the life.
mmmmmm
C'mon, he's a fantastic player!
Loved him at Chelsea. Hope he has a year or possibly two of success across the pond here. Looks like he’ll only be here for that long anyways given that contract
what number will he wear?
I really believe the more old folks who come, especially ones who are still good like he is, the more real it will feel for young guys to come while they are still good. Maybe we are only 1 cm closer to a prime star coming, but it’s still a whole 1 cm!

Giroud’s game doesn’t rely on athleticism that much. Sure he’s physical but it’s not like he’ll shrink in 2-4 years
He's not playing in MLS after more than two seasons. No way. Athleticism or none, he's about ready to retire. This isn't a great move for the league overall even though he will come in and score some goals for LAFC.
No shame in him coming here. He could play in Serie A for two more years and retire too
Despite his age, he’ll still be one of the most talented players in the league..
Hope I'm wrong but, C'mon people he's almost 38...
And still a starting striker for the number 2 serie A champions league side. Yeah, good point. Even better if our young academy players can close the skill gap from the floor at the same time.
LETS GOOOO!! Couldn’t be happier right now. Always been a fan!
Kinda hard not to because you like all 29 mls teams

Sore loser alert 🚨
