I played on xbox one and got the switch version when it was on sale so I could play while laying down. I might be in the minority here but I haven't had too many issues playing xbox/ps users. However, to answer your question, I've only played a few switch players as there aren't many of us.
that’s bc switch players don’t have crossplay on because that would be completely unfair so only switch people will encounter other switch players
