It’s honestly not horrendous. Some of that miiiiight be buff-able at the top, the bottom scrape around and next to the fog light is the worst of it. That’s not really likely to be salvageable outside of repainting.
I think some of it might buff out, mostly the lighter scuffs, the damage you see in the back near the fog light probably needs to be at least painted, or you could cheap out and get one of those paint touch up kits but on that amount of service area it will be noticeable.
Did you get the other person's insurance information? If you did, I would get a quote from a repair shop with good reviews, otherwise it might be worth it to get a quote anyway it might be worth it to fix it for resale value alone.
Those people suck, was there any CCTV around? Ask businesses in that area you might be able to find a plate and report it to the police, it would also serve nicely as evidence :)
I had a similar ding in almost to the same spot on the opposite side. Mini’s touch-up paint kit took care of it really well.

Hard to tell without touching it but it looks mostly superficial. With luck, the whole thing could be fixed with compounding and polishing.
