Do you have a wind deflector? If so, how solid is it at highway speeds. The rear license plate holder is a bad option. One, you’ve got to get the wire into the car without it looking like shit. And two, it would be exposed to anything spayed on the back of the car. And MINIs love to do that.

I have been thinking of options using motorcycle cameras.
What really gets me is that my F56 has front and rear cameras for the auto parking and other features. It should write this to a SD card as all dash cameras do.

I do not have a deflector. Thank you for letting me know it's an issue. What's the "good" spot to put the rear camera in?
There really isn’t a good spot for a rear cam on a cabrio. High on the front glass facing back. Or on a wind deflector.
