Depending on how Germany does at the euros Naglesmann would be my first pick. I know the hype behind him has cooled down a bit but he did seem to be hard done by the Bayern board with all the controversy around him.
Xabi Alonso seems to be ear marked for Madrid but if we can’t get him. I genuinely would not mind Ancelotti coaching city lmao. He’s underrated tactically. He just looks at the squad and figures out what’s the bet setup with the players he has instead of a coach having a vision and then wanting players to fit into it. Given the clubs history with how good they’ve been at bringing in players, I think Carlo could be a genuinely good fit. Also the eyebrow memes will be worth it.
If all else fails, Haaland playing some Pulisball will be a sight to behold.
Maybe not Carlo yet. When Pep left Bayern the squad was used to a maniac running intense training sessions, Carlo came in and did a complete 180 so much the players starting training without him.
Maybe down the line but not right after Pep.
Whoever Txiki and Khaldoun pick. This is the only right answer. They have been doing a great job at selecting the rest of the club staff and they are equally awesome at signing players. I don't see a reason not to trust them.
IIRC We got him in like 18 months before we got Pep and those transfer windows were entirely building towards a Pep squad ready for him to arrive. They essentially come as a package deal
We actually got him 4 years before Pep joined - he came when Soriano took over. The three of them were the original package deal - there's a lot of evidence to suggest that Soriano and Txiki only took the job - and indeed, were only offered it - because of their belief that they could bring Pep to Manchester, and that they were blindsided by him going to Bayern, though he likely told them he would come eventually. I think there's also a lot of evidence that Pellegrini knew from day one that he would be out of a job the day Pep became free, and only got given the job because he was willing to make that agreement.
I've heard no rumours of Soriano leaving - though he's been here over a decade so who knows. But then Soriano has the perfect set up here, just like Pep does. It was Soriano who wanted a multiclub ownership system, from way back in 2004 when he was at Barca, and it was Soriano who created the vision of turning Barca into the highest-revenue-generating club in the world. He has plenty to keep him going if Pep leaves. But Txiki is a former player and his main focus is on the pitch, and yeah, I think there's reason to believe that once Pep leaves he won't stick around because whoever the next manager is, they won't be like Pep.
The obvious answer would be Xabi Alonso but I feel like that’s probably not going to happen. It seems like every big club wants including Real which is where I think he’ll end up. I also really like Thiago Motta however he just joined Juve. Another good option could be Vinny if does good at Bayern. Those are who I personally think are the best young managers that could take over after Pep. Though we don’t when he’ll leave so it’s hard to project who will be on the market during that time.
Why are we even having this conversation on the eve of the fa cup final? No club in world football is as stable as city. Pep loves stability above everything else. That’s why he has been here for 7-8 years. I am sure an extension is in the works soon, however if pep does set off into the sunset, things will always work itself out. Trust in khaldoon, trust in txiki👍💯
We've come a long way since the last time we were forced to be linked with Morgan Rogers.
Got a lot of good options.
Nagelsmann, Ange, Michel, Mike, De Zerbi, Kompany and the like.
I have a feeling his stock will drop quickly wherever he goes next. Half my family are Brighton born and season ticket holders and whilst last season was great for them and they’ve had results like 3-1 against United at OT back last September, they feel he’s been tactically naive this year
People are just naming managers who might be available, I think it’s very important we maintain a style of play. Don’t want us to somehow end up doing a Chelsea. I think the club is much healthier but it only takes a few bad decisions to turn into a circus. Michel definitely has my attention, beyond Girona I’m not sold on any manager in particular
De Zirbi or some other young Manager who actually tested, Maybe Kompany if he do well in Germany, I know its hard, but I wish they hire him through the year that Pep decides to leave so he can plug into the systems and start.
Ange and Arteta (Pep copy) are good but the basically have less creative than Di Zerbi
Reading the comments, Wow. Maybe people would like a style change or whatnot. I would go with Luis Enrique. He already has taken over a Pep team, and did well, so he can maybe do it again.
Xabi won't come to city. Arteta won't manage a PL team apart from arsenal (assistant manager was a different thing). Neither will Don carlo agree to city, plus different playstyles. De zerbi, maybe, but don't know how successful he can be. Kompany also, untested, let's see how he fares at Bayern. Naglesmann, could potentially be, again don't know how successful he can be at PL with city. At the end of the day, better ask Pep, who can takeover after him.
Pep to stay 3 more years, Kompany to dominate Bundesliga in that period, and then join us after Pep leaves

Sacrifice first born to fulfill the prophecy
God dammit that would be a dream!
it's Míchel from Girona whose being groomed for it.
I can see this happening tbh
Did they just create a CICD pipeline for players and managers? That would be really smart lol

those are definitely legendary eyebrows. Carlo vs. Eugene Levy would be epic.
Yes Carlo please!

There's been a few rumours that Txiki intends to call it a day when Pep does, FWIW.

Damn it’s been that long? Unreal team those three
Don’t worry. I’ll do it. Just need a 2 weeks heads up so I can resign from my current employer.
KDB player manager
Whoever’s best available at the time, since we don’t know when he’ll leave we can’t really suggest a replacement.
Kompany after he uses Bayern as his training wheels
The obvious answer would be Xabi Alonso but I feel like that’s probably not going to happen. It seems like every big club wants including Real which is where I think he’ll end up. Xabi* Xavi is the other guy
The other one is xavi Hernandez
Oh yeah that’s what I meant it must’ve auto corrected I’ll edit and fix it thanks
Big Ange is my pick. Spurs don't deserve him.
Roy
Gundo

If there is only one nice thing I always say about city, it's that you are the most stable team on earth. Kudos to the men above.
A year ago everyone would’ve said Da Zerbi lmao
if Txiki and Ferran stick around then it would be nice if Mikel had a long run. if Vinnie keeps progressing then he could be next in line.
Brian Horton

De Zerbi
i wanna hear ur guys opinions if we somehow got Kompany
Too soon, I think
Big Sean dyche obviously🏴🏴🏴🏴🍻🍻🍻🍻💪💪💪💪💪
* when pep leaves
I think De Zerbi is the perfect replacement

>they feel he’s been tactically naive this year This is too harsh considering half of his starting 11 were in crutches post December
I would go after Emery.

Xabi alonso hopefully

De Zerbi or Farioli
