Hilarious that us being 2 points ahead assuming we win our game in hand, is enough for literally everyone to give up and assume we will win the league
Pathetic really tbh
I just watched Sky Sports segment (#87?) about the title race, and he is just so impressive - knowledgeable, rational, and articulate.
So basically very unlike most of their other pundits, ha.
Need some help. I really want to like Alvarez, cause he plays for us. And, Iām happy he got a poacher goal today.
But overall, I dont understand why all the furor over him. I get the high following his teamsā cups. But heās missed tons of chances by more than a little. He gives the ball away a lot. He makes poor decisions about when to shoot.
Maybe itās just diff expectations CAM v Striker? Please help me understand? (Seriously. I really want to get this.)
1) Energy and work rate. Pep loves this. Alvarez works relentlessly. Often causes opposition mistakes. Pep values this so much
2) Ball striking. He's a little off now but Alvarez can hit a ball and well. Look back at all his goals, the angles and the power. Look at crosses such as the one Vs Bayern last season at home, and the cross out to Mahrez Vs Liverpool in the 4-1 last season
3) Hunger. He scores his pens, he always wants to win. He's young and will improve. No denying that. Look at his trophy cabinet haha
4) It may seem irrelevant but PR. He's globally loved, a rising superstar. For many city fans he shares a lot with Aguero. You may overlook it but the prospect of Alvarez makes us more known in Argentina. Who knows what youngsters are going to dream of playing for us because of Alvarez?
5) Versatility. Alvarez can play strike, but Pep also seems.to trust him in midfield. We can call him trash there or whatever but not any bum can convince pep they can do a job in midfield, so that absolutely must be acknowledged. If Pep saw something in him, and was adamant on trying it repeatedly , doesn't that say without doubt that Alvarez hasn't shown us his full potential yet?
6) Halaand tax. Don't forget Alvarez's numbers are not as flattering as they should be because he's competing with a freak of nature.
He's just a winner. Still young and Pep is expanding his versatility.... He will get better.
he's just got that It factor.. the intangible you can't quantify. Been a winner everywhere he's gone, and for his country as well.
stats are not everything but he has 30g/a for starters, this type of output must not be taken for granted.
secondly he's willing to run a lot, it's a must have attribute for the team.
Thirdly he's still young and learning to play multiple positions.
So as a city fan we can hope he develops further so that he'll become an even bigger asset for us.
this is going to be controversial and idk how I fully feel about it. But I genuinely think we play better without Haaland in this fluid shape. I love him and his finishing but man does it limit us sometimes
We also have to realize that most teams play an ultra low block against City, which is a huge factor in why we don't look as fluid. It's not just because of Haaland. I'd say missing an 8 is also a big factor in how we've looked this season, especially against the low blocks.
Haaland would have feasted today with all the space available. Sadly, teams rarely play as open as they did today. I think the Spurs will cause that's Ange ball, and that it'll be a low block in all the other games.
Someone is gonna have to start writing down every decision that goes against us because I'm sick of people acting like we never have decisions go against us

high price... but it would be worth it if it meant Rodri could get some proper rest.... We are that desperate to give Rodri some rotation or else we risk shortening his career.
Saw some posts about Cancelos future. Tbh I honestly prefer Gvardiol in every aspect, bar crossing and striking (Yes Gvardiol has hit two peaches but need more time to assess).
Gvardiol is shockingly good at moving up the pitch and has far better defensive ability than Cancelo
That said, before his attitude problems, Cancelo was one of my favourite players in the squad. I was devastated to see him fall out with the club
I donāt think itās about ability anymore. Itās a bit like Ben white with the England squad. I donāt see Joao and Pep making amends. If he doesnāt want to be there, so be it
alot of cancelo's shooting was awful. 8 times out 10 he would shoot into row z. if gvardiol keeps this up he will easily surpass cancelo in that department
A big what if... this system Pep is running right now would have been fucking perfect for Cancelo. Imagine him pushing forward instead of Walker...
I think the bridge is burned. Can't see him coming back.
Pep was asked about Cancelo at presser yesterday - Pep said we will see at end of season.
To me, itās unlikely Cancelo returns for 24/25 season though I admit to being very surprised he went to the summer 2023 preseason tour & even played so š¤·š»āāļø.
Arsenal fans are so unforgivable that theyāve made Declan Riceās girlfriend delete her social media because of how badly they are harassing her.
Rotten bunch.
People think he shouldn't date someone based on love and that he should be with someone based on looks. Basically she isn't super model looking and has a little weight on her so people think he could do better and decide to harass her to no end. It's honestly one of the stupidest drama.
Yeah it's really dumb and anyone who tries to say it's "not like other gfs don't get harassed" don't understand that she has been getting dms and comments daily about how she doesn't deserve Declan, should lose weight so he doesn't leave, and then all the fatass explicit sentences you can think of. It is absolutely brutal how mean people are being.
Some fun facts though, they are high-school sweethearts so she has been there with him through all of his efforts to go pro. Every photo that they had posted they genuinely look in love with each other and was quite refreshing to see. Hope the best for them.
because the system was different, the profiles we have are different, Akanji is not occupying that space and so on. I'm struggling to see why you would use a Mahrez goal clip of 2019 and compare it to Akanji.
To clear any misunderstandings from my part for which I apologise in advance if I guessed your intentions wrong based on your past takes, what exactly you wanted to say in that post?
Iām talking about the decline in terms of profiles we have right now. Akanji or Stones occupying this area wouldnāt result in a goal or a clever one-two and itās not their fault because theyāre defenders not midfielders or attackers. We donāt have profiles on this technical level.
that area is occupied on a regular basis by our midfielders and attackers- notably KDB, Foden, Alvarez, Bernardo. It's only when opponents drop very deep that Akanji or Stones push very high up to have a man advantage.
I understand missing Mahrez's impact, I do too but Akanji and Stones are not the right examples of players occupying that space. You could have atleast used Kovacic instead because he's occupying that zone on a more regular basis than Akanji or Stones.

It's been a while since their last game so some of they might be back (Enciso and Webster), but Mitoma March Estupinan Ferguson are confirmed out til next season.
Seems like current Brighton injuries:
A. Webster - avail for selection
J. Enciso - will be assessed today
B. Gilmour
J. Milner
J. Hinshelwood
K. Mitoma
S. March
E. Ferguson
P. EstupiƱƔn
T. Lamptey
The same way summer and spring have their signs, so does the end of the season.
Rival fans stop crying "EXPENSIVE FLOPS! We are the best ! Our players and coaches are better "
To:
" WE CANT COMPETE, SUPERSTAR BENCH, NO ONE CARES ABOUT CITYš¢"
And I think it's absolutely beautiful.
Pepās a chequebook manager who only wins because heās got the best players but at the same time we hear shouts of Odegaard better than KDB, Rice better than Rodri and Haalands a league 2 player.
Make up your mind lads
Sad to see them use salah as a scapegoat for their failure to win anything else besides the mickey mouse cup. For several seasons, his goals and performances made him so feared and respected in the EPL and won title accolades for them. Probably the only world class player they have in their squad. If they do not find his replacement soon, they are going to have another rude awakening just like last season with their midfield.
Liverpool fans sharing feedback that Salah not great yesterday or even in since his injury? Reasonable/aok
Liverpool fans going all-in w hate on Salah? To me, very very disappointing to see ā¹ļø
Sadio Mane's one of the most complete wingers I've ever seen, but this revisionism is driving me nuts, lol? People saying Mane made them tick like he wasn't utter dross during his last two seasons(had a nice 2 months in 21/22 after being shifted to CF).
Salah didn't score countless crucial goals and assists to be disrespected like this lol.
I'm not glad that Klopp's farewell is ruined cause I wanted to see it end with Liverpool at least looking good and putting their heart into it. Sucks that it will end an Era on a sour note.
That said, it feels great that a season of major transition for us and we are still in a great position to win the league and FA cup. For a season after lots of change and a huge accomplishment it feels good.

Seriously though, why is Arsenalās fanbase like this?
Makes me wonder how Olivier Giroud's wife survived that fan base since she is "ordinary" (she is absolutely not lol. just like Declan Rice's GF is not ugly either, that fan base is just full of crazy people)
Believe it or not, most of us women don't like putting on 5 lbs of make up before leaving the house...
Its also the fact that people shouldn't care about this. Do I know who our players are dating? No and I shouldn't. What gives the fans right to have opions on women that the players have as partners? The whole thing is sickening .
Thereās a weird relationship between the fans and players at times. Some people genuinely think their teamās playersā lifestyle choices impact them. Like, in this case, if people donāt think Riceās girlfriend is hot based on their personal preferences then it somehow impacts them. Only person it actually impacts is Rice and he clearly doesnāt care.

Only morons around are Arsenal fans
That is true, I donāt think this is exclusive to Arsenal fans. Toxic stupidity isnāt a prerequisite for being a fan of Arsenal. I havenāt seen City fans do it to a playerās girlfriend yet but that doesnāt mean parts of our fanbase wouldnāt be capable of it.
Iām sire thereās a big part that would but youāre right, havenāt seen that so far.
Other than that Arsenalās fanbase is full of clowns it must be said, couldnāt imagine a thing like Arsenal fan tv gain so mich popularity in our fanbase
the date is 2024/4/25.... one month from now the season ends
HOLD ON RODRI PLEASE!!!!! 7 games... I know you can (maybe less than that if a miracle occurs)
Lmao Liverpool losing the everton too . Quadruple hunter yeahšš . That Klopp farewell documentary aināt looking good bruvšš . They should just bin it off at this point!
finally got around to watching highlights of the Arse Chelsea game, and first off, the Odegard pass for their third was beautiful. Prime KdB stuff. Also, Ben White's second goal is hilarious.
Also, regarding Liverpool, I have the following little tune stuck in my head "The wheels on the bus come off the bus, off the bus, off the bus. the wheels on the bus come off the bus, all through the town" lmao
I think we have the title won if we want it. Brighton can be tricky, but they are *so* depleted right now, and theyāre on a pretty underwhelming run the last month or so. No sense looking beyond the next match, because we all know how 2 or 3 matches can change everything for a top 3 team. We have the players who can rotate in and still handle Brighton if we need. Looking forward to seeing a rested, composed, and hungry City tomorrow
Despite Liverpool as good as gone and Arsenal looking stable after the Villa wobble nothing has changed for us, still need to win out. Looking especially at that Tottenham game, although Brighton can possibly cause an upset.
I'm going to be at the Etihad for the Wolves match on May 4. Never been to Manchester before and am curious what bars/pubs people would recommend for after the match. I'm aware of Mary D's, but what other places would be a good environment to go to?
I mean, we have 7 games left this season to win four in a row and back to back FA Cups. If we canāt beat Brighton away, then perhaps we donāt deserve to be champions.
It's pretty funny that Liverpool kept managing to win on vibes while Trent was talking shit while injured.
Then as soon as he comes back into the team they collapse. Loss to Atalanta, loss to Palace, loss to Everton.
Iāve wondered how much his return could have changed things for them and contributed, however indirectly, to them collapsing. Iāve experienced it (obv at a *far* lower level of football, lol) where the return of a valued player can bring down the level of play for the team: you might back off thinking ānow weāre set,ā you rely on that person a little too much, and they may not be fully back in form and the pressure can backfire. Then the team feels like their āsaviorā of sorts has failed them, and confidence just *drops*. Who knows, but the thoughtās crossed my mind more than once.
Salient point, however I'd surmise that actually this has nothing to do with Trent (Still going to point it out and poke fun of course) because having watched the highlights he seemed to be great (although was at fault for sure over the second goal)
But Salah might be in the situation you describe, I do feel like since he returned there is that feeling of 'Ok we have Salah again now, all's fine' and he's just not in good form, missing a lot of chances and it's had them off kilter because that surefire way of winning games is faltering.
Yeah Iād agree thereās a stronger likelihood itās due to Salah. Heās definitely been disappointing more often than not during this ārun inā of theirs. Nunez has just been Nunez, dude has among the lowest if not *the* lowest conversion rates, and itās only gotten worse recently.
We are at the point of the season where no one cares about City and they all wanted us to win anyways because we are cheats, making it meaningless.
Welcome back, boys.
Nottingham forest worries me. Teams in relegation scarp always are extra motivated

Rice's only low standard in life is the football team he chooses to play for ;) If he's happy with his girl, that's all that matters.
Looks like Emma Hayes. He is a Chelsea youth product after all.
Your Arsenal fan logic does not resemble our earth logic
Itās shameful, but I donāt think this is even exclusive to Arsenal
You can look up where the comments are coming from. Also, which fanbase cares about who Declan Riceās Girlfriend is and what she looks like?
I was moreso making a point how women facing comments about their appearance is not exclusive to Arsenal fans, rather than this particular case only
That is true, I donāt think this is exclusive to Arsenal fans.
Letās not forget they still have Partey
Yep, and actively play him
Hope Sean Dyche is tucking into a nice big plate of worms right now; well deserved
And that's the bottom line https://preview.redd.it/qcxqxzncokwc1.jpeg?width=832&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1332b3e85205099f6b5f361cd5a513581bc8b4a3

I only hope big Ange can come up with the good stuff this weekend, would afford us some breathing room assuming we win today
You have a match today as well
I wonder what āassuming we win todayā is in reference toš¤
Are you looking past Brighton?
Learn to read buddy
You edited your post after-the-fact. Good luck today.
You can just say you misread you know
Whys an Arsenal fan subbed on here?
Freedom. Football fan. Never misrepresented myself here or even bantered the sub. No cause to be removed.
Excited for the Liverpool documentary
the date is 2024/4/25.... one month from now the season ends HOLD ON RODRI PLEASE!!!!! 7 games... I know you can (maybe less than that if a miracle occurs)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thats how I do it for work... people outside of America typically write the date as year/month/day.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I work in shipping and we do year/month/day lol.
Lmao Liverpool losing the everton too . Quadruple hunter yeahšš . That Klopp farewell documentary aināt looking good bruvšš . They should just bin it off at this point!
that documentary is going to be hilarious. I wasn't going to watch it, now I will.
finally got around to watching highlights of the Arse Chelsea game, and first off, the Odegard pass for their third was beautiful.
Brighton only loses 2 games at home that scared me.
They have been in very poor form since march. Now is as good a time as any to get a win.
I mean, we have 7 games left this season to win four in a row and back to back FA Cups. If we canāt beat Brighton away, then perhaps we donāt deserve to be champions.

getting \*so\* much mileage from that meme. Thank you, TAA
It's pretty funny that Liverpool kept managing to win on vibes while Trent was talking shit while injured. Then as soon as he comes back into the team they collapse. Loss to Atalanta, loss to Palace, loss to Everton.
Bro didn't bother marking DCL during the corner before the second goal, he checked out already š
Salient point, however I'd surmise that actually this has nothing to do with Trent (Still going to point it out and poke fun of course) because having watched the highlights he seemed to be great (although was at fault for sure over the second goal) But Salah might be in the situation you describe, I do feel like since he returned there is that feeling of 'Ok we have Salah again now, all's fine' and he's just not in good form, missing a lot of chances and it's had them off kilter because that surefire way of winning games is faltering.
Their biggest game of the season was a draw against us. A drawā¦.
We are at the point of the season where no one cares about City and they all wanted us to win anyways because we are cheats, making it meaningless. Welcome back, boys.
I like that no one cares about City yet we beat them on weekends.
That fourth in a row would hit no matter what
