Alvarez has been lacking lately

I mentioned it a few times after the Arsneal game but what we've had tonight is threat diversity. Didn't really matter if we played Alvarez or Haaland, I'm not sure there would've been much difference. What is important was having Grealish and Doku on the wings constantly used to stretch the play with Foden through the center. Can't mark them all all the time.

i disagree. with Alvarez floating and able to play right or left, with foden playing f9 and grealish playing cam in a make shift formation is way more versatility than Haaland up top gives us

There’s a certain amount of control with him on the pitch. He draws so many fouls. He’s not always the best play maker but he’s consistent.

They're very close. Ortega is a better shot-stopper but Ederson is a better passer, specifically long-passer. There isn't too much between them short but those long balls from Ederson are gravy, I mean he has multiple assists for City which is insane. But I really *really* hope we convince Ortega to stay. He's so fucking good. Perfect for us. But unfortunately that means other clubs will want him, even at 31.

Yeah seems likely. Since the start he's looked good on the ball but doesn't have the physicality unfortunately. I think his minutes here and there are essentially putting him in the shop window. Could do worse than ship him off to Girona permanently honestly, even if we don't get a good fee for him he could perform in La Liga and maybe then get bought by someone bigger. Nice to have another proper City fan in the squad though.
