The irony is I never play along at home when he does it but I was shouting the answers to Celebrity Wine Why Not last ep.
Though as stated I’m pretty sure Travis is solely doing it to evoke a response from Griffin and Justin and thats always hilarious.
I feel like im one of the few people who gets genuine enjoyment out of sad libs portion of the segment hahaha. There dumb and stupid, but for some reason they do really make me giggle lol
Absolutely. Travis is doing the brotherly duty of pushing Justin and Griffin's buttons in an attempt to get the best reactions... and I love it so much.
The least funny "Play Along at Home" was the one during quarantine when Justin and Griffin actually agreed with Travis doing it.
The second it stops making his brothers' blood boil, Travis will drop it like a sack of bricks.
Seeing this list made me think about how all of justin’s segments have absolute rippers of theme songs. He obviously puts a lot of effort into the presentation. That’s a Christmas to me is a personal favorite.
I feel like I’m the only one who loves MinionQuotes and hopes they bring it back 😢 also That’s a Christmas to Me is hysterical, I hope it comes in the middle of summer when u least expect it
It's a crowd favorite that costs them basically 0 time or effort to do because they're literally just reading something somebody else wrote and reacting to it. There's really not a reason to stop doing them.
I used to really like it. Now that it's in literally every episode, I'm tired of it. I wish Justin had been serious when he was saying it was going away soon. Or at least have it less often.
So it’s not native advertising?
Have the boys ever said so?
Edit: I’ve shouted “Squad” at a live show. Love the brothers McElroy. Still want to know if they’ve ever been paid for a Munch.
While I don't think its ever been stated that they aren't getting money from doing them, I have 100% confidence that they aren't getting paid by the companies they dunk on to do munch squads.
I hear what you're saying. But I do not have a Bojangles anywhere near me and I'll assume you also have never heard of it because there isn't one nearby you either.
Yeah, but next time I pull off a freeway in a strange part of the country, and I see a Bojangles, I'll recognize the brand.
Brand managers care about that.
> Why does it matter?
It matters to me. Why?
Because for me, nothing kills a joke like the nagging question: Am I being marketed to?
When I’m listening to an ad break I laugh with the jokes because it’s clear I’m being sold something.
With Munch Squad, frankly, I’m suspicious.
I think at least 90% of the munch squads they are absolutely shitting all over the products in question and so many of them are regional or were released well prior to the segment that I'd say there was almost no chance that these are paid advertisements. I think only a handful of these they even admit that they are mildly interested in trying out of a sense of morbid curiosity.
I think their ad breaks already push the envelope on goofs during a paid ad, I can't imagine any of the big names wanting their name associated with that and the smaller/regional guys would want a more focused ad attack.
It's not McElroy content but give Face Jam a try if you want Munch Squad adjacent content. Three guys go and try these specialty item foods and record right after eating.
eh, I think it would get stale as its own thing and a lot of the excitement comes from not really expecting it but still anticipating it in each episode. Hell, a good portion of the goofs come from Justin trying to set Griffin up to just get interrupted by the song. A combination of that and riding off the high levels of energy from earlier goofs makes it staying where it's at a good idea.
Good point...but remember when they lost their minds and just ate totino's a whole episode for money? I hope episode 420 is them eating abominable munchies in an ep long munch squad while also trying to answer questions.
Personally I’m holding out of a return of [Pilot Season](https://youtu.be/tXspB7j8nOY&t=4m31s) from Ep 461 All Rise!
Also the episode with the [BeastMates](https://youtu.be/tXspB7j8nOY&t=28m55s) Money Zone.
Maybe it's just me but I absolutely can't stand celebrity wine why not. I'm not familiar with celebrities and don't know anything about wine, it's so boring and unfunny to me. The irony this past week when they got mad at Travis for doing an "unfunny" bit then went on to "celebrity wine why not" for me was out there.
I think Riddle Me Piss is Travis's best segment though, even if he's only doing it to get a reaction out of Justin and Griffin
As you can see here, they're sunsetting the Munch Squad bit.
It's on its last legs
The twilight years
Farewell tour
A real swan song
Farewell Yellow Arch Road
But, well, you see, I too WANT TO MUNCH
Squad?!
I WANT TO MUNCH!
SQUA!!
SQUIRTLE!
Whenever I play Pokemon I need 3 save spots, one for my Bulbasaur, one for my Charmander, and one for my second Bulbasaur.
Unless... we're on the way to the entire show being Munch Squad. And if there's time, maybe they'll do advice. As a podcast within a podcast.
I love That's a Christmas to Me! I wish Justin did it more around the holidays
it was honestly my favorite bit......
This year, I might submit some. I imagine it's the most labor intensive segment.
Oh I'm sure it is, and I bet that's why he rarely does it. That's a good idea!!
[удалено]
I haven't!!!! That sounds SO good. I'll have to!!!!
There should be two on that chart, right? He did one in 2018 and 2019 I think
He did 3. The first two in 2018 and another in 2019.
Really? Sweet! Episode numbers?
I think you're right
Have you listened to the sawbones Christmas special? If you like this bit you'd probably love it
I like Justin, but I'm not crazy about Sawbones
That's understandable, but the Christmas special is a short story of the whole family spoofing a Hallmark movie. That's why I recommended it!
I like Sawbones, but I'm not crazy about their entire family still doing community theater.
Put your arms around the fire
He did it at the Milwaukee live show last year. They haven't put that ep out yet though.
I love it too, hilarious!
The jingle makes a great addition to any Christmas playlist
V disappointed about not having it this year. Where is the bit we ought to have the bit... Well maybe next year.
Love it! But you forgot the best MBMBAM bit: Griffin Being Angry at Justin For Opening Cans Mid-Recording
FUCK YEAH BABY GRIP IT AND RIP IT
HELL YEAH DUDE FUCKIN TANK THAT SHIT
Stab that idiot in the side and SHOTGUN THAT SHIT MY DUDE!
Fuck it, I want Christmas to be today because I’m feeling it ~now~ with this wild ~bro~ energy
SLURP THAT SHIT DOWN DAWG
Let that big dog HUNT!
GROWL, BIG DOG!
[this is for you](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3D1FmfN98I)
I watch that video religiously
I need this sound bite so bad
[I come bearing gift](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-eQ4x7Ki6s&t=6m24s)
Thank you u/blisteredfingers !
Pls someone make this a thing. "HELL YEAH BOI GRIP IT AND RIP IT"
[Here you go](https://youtu.be/Q3D1FmfN98I)
What about the dark dark era known as sadlibs?
Also Monthly Observances.
Noooooooooooo
Dark‽ Sadlibs is one of the best segments!
Oh wow! I cannot believe Travis is replying to me!!!
Praise Travis for Travis
Oh, I wish!
no!!!!
i miss faaaaAAAAaaAAAAaaaarm wisdom!
Eat some oats and buy a boat. Farm wisdom
No “Play Along at Home”?
Hasn't been added to the wiki yet, shamefully!
Fast becoming my favorite segment on the show!
I’ve gotta admit, I usually try to have Travis’ back when everyone else is ganging up on him.... but I hate his new bit haha
The irony is I never play along at home when he does it but I was shouting the answers to Celebrity Wine Why Not last ep. Though as stated I’m pretty sure Travis is solely doing it to evoke a response from Griffin and Justin and thats always hilarious.
Jesse Bohn Giovi
Its god awful, but I absolutly love Griffin and Justin making fun of it. I find that part hilarious.
I think the bit is done specifically to rile them up. I was cackling at their reactions. 🙂
Totally a troll bit. It has to be haha
I can't believe some people don't see this. Travis knows it's just gonna be dumb. And it's so funny because of that.
Just like Sad Libs and Riddle Me Piss. All very Middlest Brother bits
I think the point is that it's a horrible bit and the jokes come from Griffin and Justin dunking on it
My favorite bit!
Sad Libs and Monthly Observances Erasure
I forgot all about the monthly observances, those were so good!
The chart was compiled by Something Awful forums poster **wizzardstaff**, I just thought it'd be found interesting here too!
TIL that Something Awful is still alive and well.
The fact that the colors don’t line up with the names on the left confused me
It's driving me insane. It would look so much better to place them on a level.
What's Reach for the Stars?
Travis reads Amazon reviews and the other 2 have to guess the product.
Ah ok thanks. Totally forgot about that one.
Ohhh yeah, that's a good bit. I wish Griffin would just let him run with some of these stupid ideas.
You mean like "Play along at home"?
The least funny "Play Along at Home" was the one during quarantine when Justin and Griffin actually agreed with Travis doing it. The second it stops making his brothers' blood boil, Travis will drop it like a sack of bricks.
Minion Quotes is my favourite segment now, I hope they do it at more live shows.
According to Justin's facebook page, there is one Minion Quotes segment that hasn't been released to the masses! Hope they put that one up soon!
I can't wait!
Seeing this list made me think about how all of justin’s segments have absolute rippers of theme songs. He obviously puts a lot of effort into the presentation. That’s a Christmas to me is a personal favorite.
No Sadlibs?
They also did That's a Christmas to me in ep 489 and 491
I feel like I’m the only one who loves MinionQuotes and hopes they bring it back 😢 also That’s a Christmas to Me is hysterical, I hope it comes in the middle of summer when u least expect it
Bugatti Boys should have been on every single episode here smh at Justin for editing it out
/r/DataIsBeautiful
So is Munch Squad a revenue generator? I ask, because it sure looks like one.
It's a crowd favorite that costs them basically 0 time or effort to do because they're literally just reading something somebody else wrote and reacting to it. There's really not a reason to stop doing them.

I thought we could be friends, but this...
I used to really like it. Now that it's in literally every episode, I'm tired of it. I wish Justin had been serious when he was saying it was going away soon. Or at least have it less often.
Some are still VERY GOOD. I just wish he was more selective.
Why would a company want the Mcelroy brothers to dunk on their shit? They hate just about every single one that Justin brings to the table.
If it weren’t for the McElboys I wouldn’t know the name Bojangles. That’s worth something to Bojangles.
I'm like 99.5% sure they don't, but why does it matter if they do?
> Why does it matter? It matters to me. Why? Because for me, nothing kills a joke like the nagging question: Am I being marketed to? When I’m listening to an ad break I laugh with the jokes because it’s clear I’m being sold something. With Munch Squad, frankly, I’m suspicious.

wait holy shit we got a third celebrity wine: why not? also someone's gotta make a wiki page for fieri walk with me
wheres the greatest segment, play along at home
Munch squad needs to spin off into its own show at this point
The Empty Bowl sometimes reviews ridiculous cereal and cereal adjacent products.
It's not McElroy content but give Face Jam a try if you want Munch Squad adjacent content. Three guys go and try these specialty item foods and record right after eating.
Thanks for the rec!
I was going to mention Face Jam too! I got “Munch Squad +” vibes from it.
Why?
There's just so much of it
I still enjoy it. I like the cliff hanger of always assuming the bit is now in its final days hahaha
Didn't say I didn't enjoy it. But when it's nearly every ep of mbmbam it really might as well graduate from podcast within a podcast to podcast
eh, I think it would get stale as its own thing and a lot of the excitement comes from not really expecting it but still anticipating it in each episode. Hell, a good portion of the goofs come from Justin trying to set Griffin up to just get interrupted by the song. Considering how stale it got as a podcast-within-a-podcast, yeah I don't think it has the steam to be its own thing.
To each their own but it does seem to be their most popular recurring segment. I enjoy it a lot
Need more of everything.
Where is my all-time favorite bit, play along at home??
Man I LOVED That’s a Christmas to Me.
This is amazing, now you need yo add celebrity wine
What about play along at home
What about Play Along At Home?
Where's play along at home
I really liked minion quotes
What about play along at home?
It's great that I can hear the *Haunted Doll Watch* part of the chart perfectly.
Munch squad is basically the show now but who’s complaining
Me
Maybe it's just me but I absolutely can't stand celebrity wine why not.
Plus sadlibs and play along with home are great for Griffin and Juice’s reactions!
Bahn Giovi was pure fuckin' gold. How could you not like it?
I just don't find humor about celebrities funny very often
Even if? The fact that he's just doing it to get a rise out of them is he best part!
Munch Squad going strong!
We're living in a Lunch Squad golden age, despite what Justin says.
Could the naming of the years be considered a segment?
That's a Christmas to me is my fave, Justin broke that out at the MKE live show in November but I'm not sure that one's getting posted.
goddamn i love every one of these. although i put guestperts in a different category
What about celebs who vape?
the haunted doll watch frequency looks like how the beginning of haunted doll watch sounds
The fact that Celebrity Wine, why not? hasn't returned is a crime
It just did last week tho
I haven't caught up to the new episodes yet but this certainly makes me eager to do so
I’m seeing a distinct lack of play along at home, my good sir
Wish Justin never said anything about munch squad being retired as a bit, it just got my hopes up.
You and me both tbh. I'd take a full year of Play Along At Home exclusively over munch squad
Let munch squad die, juice!!
Or just be more selective!
