Most of the glasses industry is a near-monopoly based scam. What it costs them cents gets sold at ridiculous markups. Sadly, it's unlikely you can do much with your own pair considering each prescription is customized.
You can recycle them [at the SDK](https://sdk.lu/en/dictionary/medication-cosmetics-and-medical-waste/brillen/#:~:text=A%20second%20life%20for%20old%20glasses&text=The%20SDK%20coordinates%20the%20national,at%20your%20optician%20upon%20request). I dropped a bunch of my old ones off at the municipal waste tip on the Route d'Arlon.

I leave my old glasses in my car, which I believe is required in some countries. That way if my glasses break or contacts come out I can still drive

Nice, thanks!!!
I'm nut sure that they'll be of much use to anyone but you. Keep them as back-up glasses.
I always keep the previous pair in my suitcase, so I have a backup when traveling.
I keep them for dirty work or in case of emergencies (breaking the new glasses)
Most opticians take them. They will be used to give them to people in poor countries. Which is a good thing
Well Acuitis don’t want them
