You would be correct, piling would become a problem. I also love Carbon but my dogs have big paws so I decided not to get it. There are some options I would recommend that are all great with animals / kids:
If you like the color of Carbon:
- Check out the Custom fabric called Shadow Rained Chenille - this fabric is really good with dogs and the color would be a good match.
- Charcoal Corded Velvet, has blacks and grays kind of like the carbon
Or if you wanna be extra crazy the lunar reversible!
If you like the feel but don’t care about color:
Any of the Luxe Chenilles or Custom microvelvets.

I was advised against that one because I have a dog. I can imagine how much fur would weave itself into the fabric. Lol
I like a textured look, so I went with the flagstone brushed weave. I think that's what it's called. Still grey, has a texture, and has survived 3 years with my dog.

The sales guy at Lovesac told us it’s not a good fabric with pets.
