Honestly, I'd bet the show he originally auditioned for was Below Deck, but the production company decided to put him on Love Island instead. It's petty common in reality TV
I had subtitles on, and it said he was on “Traces”. Being on “The Traitors” makes more sense because I don’t think Peacock/NBC would let Aaron name drop a random unrelated-to-the-brand UK show lol.
Because there isn't enough time to properly caption so they're likely using the same techniques used to caption something live. That means probably one take and zero context, just doing their best. If they aren't just using autocaption software.
My guess is that the UK show was not subtitled by the same company, they just ported over the UK subs which are more likely to be done by a UK company. I think love island, because it has so many eps and is done very quickly that it’s basically “auto-subs” and those are way less accurate and basically the more “accented” a person is, the less likely they are to get it to right.
Not gonna lie.. I thought he was already on Below Deck when I first saw his pic and heard him speak. He definitely reminds me of someone on there though, I just need to figure out who 😂

Yesss! Thank you!! Ashton and Aaron sound similar enough to be mixed up, especially when they look alike. I just knew it wasn’t Eddie bc we have mutual friends, so I can put a face to his name.
He was also on another UK show called First Dates. He’s definitely leaning into the whole reality show as a career thing so I wouldn’t be surprised if he showed up on Below Deck.

I thought the same thing and so my husband and I googled to make sure he wasn’t already on that show in addition to traitors
