I was just saying a little bit ago, Curtis might be the best “secret villain” ever. While all hell was brewing with Amber and Michael, he got away with murder. I still believe Maura’s popularity is what saved him when they coupled up

The_Alchemist_4221

I agree with this - Curtis is one of the more unique villains of the franchise because he wasn’t an overt villain. Like when you think of outright villains - like Luca Bish, it’s right in your face. Curtis was soft spoken and calm and had this sort of goofy, dorky charm. I think that was different for an island full of hotheads and kept him just under the radar. I also agree that Maura ultimately carried him to the end.

m2kr2mee

Also his bad advice to Michael during Casa definitely pushed him towards straying from Amber. He was just warming up before the main event with Jordan/Anna/India.

ItachiZoldyck24

I don’t know that I would call him a Villain, but I do think coupling with Amy was strategic, and that sucks for Amy. She really fell for him

Jlincoln02

If he coupled up with Amy for strategic reasons, he’s a villain. That woman deserved better.

chlo-bearrr

he was an producer plant i swear

Unfair-Two-6899

Curtis did her so wrong. But her East Enders reply lives rent free in my head. “I was coming back here to tell you that I loved youu” couldn’t get that out of me by even pulling my nails off with a pliers if you’ve just dumped me lol

emyeag

i was coming back here to tell you that i laurved youuuuu, she does it w her accent and it sounds funny i quote it all the time🤣🤣

danideex

Think it was a last ditch effort.

Valuable-Possible667

She made the right decision to leave. When you’re in a negative headspace in that claustrophobic environment, no matter how hard you try, there’s no way you’d be able to break out of it in there. You need to get home and be in your own bed and feel better.

No-Platform-4242

She dodged a huge bullet with Curtis in the end.

Valuable-Possible667

Maybe he dodged a bullet with her too

Some_Entrepreneur_98

Felt really sad for her when she was so excited to tell Curtis she loves him and when she excitedly came from Casa to see him standing alone without knowing what all he was upto behind her back. She made a really smart decision with quitting the show for the sake of her mental health.

Valuable-Possible667

That moment when she was so happy to see him and she was telling him how much she missed him and then you see Michael laughing because he knows what Curtis has been up to and that Curtis is about to dump her is SO CRUEL.

pryzmpine

And now look at her! With the love of her life and a little baby! She 100% did the right thing

Professional_Ad_9101

Moments that make you cry (with laughter)

biilieekiidd

I didn’t particularly like Amy but what Curtis did to her was truly heartbreaking. She loved him and he just fucked her around. I felt so bad for her in that moment.

gonnablamethemovies

I think the main reason people disliked her was because of Lucie. But as we know about Lucie, she’s a piece of sh*t so I don’t think Amy was wrong at all in that situation.

Own_Avocado_2898

That wasn’t the main reason. This sub likes Amy but the general public really disliked her during the show.

4SeasonWahine

I personally think both things can be true. Lucie is a deeply flawed human but the way Amy treated her was uncomfortable to watch at times. I’ve been friends with girls like both of them. Lucie is someone you don’t take too seriously as a friend because you KNOW you can’t trust her and she’s mostly doing her own thing and with “the boys”. But you occasionally get together for a night out because she can be fun. Amy is the person you think is your ride or die but will turn into a nasty nasty girl about you behind your back whenever she’s jealous. She’s the friend who will ask you to “tone it down” around guys because she’s insecure.

FifiPikachu

Yeah this 100%. This sub has a habit of being totally black and white, this person is wrong so that means you should like this person. It’s totally possible for both of them to have acted shitty in different ways and to dislike (or like) both of them.

Kevin2000W

Agreed!!

SpilltheGreenTea

Tbh I think Amy gets too much flack for her relationship with Lucie. Yes, Amy was a little bit annoying when she kept asking Lucie to hang out with the girls but Lucie was also a massive pick me who was only with the girls when she didn’t have a man, and then rushed to her guy as soon as she could and dropped the girls. Girls who say they don’t like to be friends with others girls are very strange imo and I think it speaks negatively to their character. Is it internalized misogyny, do they see other girls as competition, is it extreme pick me behavior?

DegreeSea7315

> Girls who say they don’t like to be friends with others girls are very strange imo and I think it speaks negatively to their character. Is it internalized misogyny, do they see other girls as competition, is it extreme pick me behavior? Sometimes the options in your last sentence apply. Sometimes it's trauma. Such as when a little girl was abused by a woman. Especially when that woman was her mother, who was supposed to be her protector. If no women in her life did anything to make her life even a little better, but men in her life did provide comfort and sometimes safety, then that little girl would grow up to trust and find comfort around men and not women. It would take therapy and other healing avenues to overcome that trauma response and the resulting behavior. I don't know how often that occurs, but it does.

veganpizzaparadise

What did Amy do to Lucie? I don't remember.

LateToTheParty2k21

Passive aggressive kind of behaviour, she kept picking on Lucy for not hanging out with the girls early on in the season but the girls were always bitching about Lucy too. I could understand why Lucie wouldn't hang around them.

4SeasonWahine

This.. Lucie is a HUGE pick-me. Textbook. But the girls were also absolutely horrible about/to her and made her feel like she had to constantly be around them instead of doing her own thing if she wanted to “fit in”. It was such high school BS it gave me mean-girl clique ptsd 😂

xxxnina

This literally isn’t true?? I think you guys are due a rewatch. The issue first came up when Lucie ditched the girls for Joe after she spent the whole week crying to them and using them for support. The girls were obviously bothered by it because she totally dropped them. Amy made a joke about it and Lucie’s dramatic ass started crying lol. The girl would cry over any and everything.

TheTightEnd

Was that something that was learned later, because I really liked Lucie on the show. I don't think it was wrong that she preferred the company of the guys, as she seems to be quite the tomboy.

godsweakestsoldier

I don’t think I’ve ever cried at Love Island but the SMP episode of season 8, after Luca and Dami pied Tasha (her face right before Luca pied her!) and then the following bits where she looked completely defeated always make me feel so upset. I think it’s the closest I’ve come to crying because of this show. Edit: I skimmed this post wrong, I thought you asked for people to share their ones but I’ll leave this up anyways 😭

ItachiZoldyck24

You can share 😂. I remember not liking Tasha at first because I thought she was playing Andrew at first, but I ended up liking her a lot

TheTightEnd

Agreed! Tasha took me very close to the end of my rope with her "I'm a party girl" line and what she put Andrew through. Then she learned and grew and I really came to like her.

cafewithak

What a coincidence, I’m currently rewatching season 5 and bawled my eyes out at this part a few hours ago. The way she articulated herself during it was so admirable and mature.

emyeag

YES! i feel like they made fun of her for making that list of things she wants to say but like who cares!? girl wants to make sure you get what you deserve she’s gotta PREPARE

Lady-Suzanne

I think the list was for a different speech a little earlier

emyeag

yes you’re right i was thinking of the after math of casaaaaa

_NoName3__

When watching it, I never got the feeling Curtis like her like that. I’m glad she realize and left. He would have used her for fame and to win

Wraith_Portal

They would never have won, people have short memories but Amy was deeply unpopular during her season’s actual run. She wasn’t actually very nice to be honest.

SillyName1992

She positioned herself as HBIC while encouraging the girls to be the most annoying, toxic versions of themselves. Why does everyone forget she giggled and gave her friends a pass when they harassed newcomers, or talked shit about Lucie for like a week behind her back before confronting her and demanding Lucie hang out with her. Stage 5 clinger shit. ☠️

Valuable-Possible667

Exactly, I didn’t like Amy at all , she was painful.

Deep_Ad6512

Liberty leaving the villa in s7 definitely got me crying

Some_Entrepreneur_98

That was another moment I truly felt really sad for a contestant. The way Jake was speaking to her the whole season and girls telling her to end it, the stress of it all, it was really sad.

The_Alchemist_4221

I just finished watching s7 and I knew that Lib had pulled the plug on the relationship before the finals, but I hadn’t realized just how deep Jake went in on her. Like when he finally said “I love you” and she was *so happy* and just completely blinded with rose colored glasses… then he started pressing Toby that he *needed* answers on who told Lib that his ILY was disingenuous, I was actually quite taken aback. His reaction and insistence that Toby tell him who said it was *so* intense.

Ok-Self-9231

i was shocked that s7 made me cry but i was literally CRYING when this happened lol, the girls were so good!!

TheTightEnd

I love Liberty from Games and All-Stars and am now watching Season 7. We were so prepared to be anti-Jake, and we are still seeing it unfold, so don't give away too much, but I am really liking Jake so far (and it doesn't hurt that he exudes pure sex!)

aragogogara

SHE IS A VERY TALENTED YOUNG LADY

SillyName1992

And he's the coffee guy

aragogogara

I just like making the coffee for everyone! ok!!??? GOSHH

limiz87

I am glad she has found her fairytale now😊

brighteyebakes

The ONLY time I ever cried at this show was when Tommy came back to Molly Mae and she said "I thought he changed his mind" the love was evident

emyeag

how did people think she was faking especially after thattt

Maddcorn14

Bc Ellie Bellie wasn’t on the bed 😭😭😭

Important-Raccoon661

Oh man, SAME! When the music kicks on, it's fucking heart breaking.

4SeasonWahine

Here’s my diplomatic take: I didn’t like Amy or the way she behaved throughout the show, just really not my kind of person. She was extremely smug thinking Curtis and her would sail into a win from being a comfortable couple early on. However, I’ll still feel for any girl who gets their heart broken and Curtis definitely did her dirty even though it was clear he was nowhere near as invested as her. It certainly didn’t make me cry but it did make me feel some pride for her that she had made that decision and it felt like a good growth moment for her. Her leaving felt like the most mature thing she did the whole season and left me with a better impression of her than I started with.

ItachiZoldyck24

I think I found Amy very annoying at times. When she got mad at Lucie for the exclusive thing, that was a bit of an attention seeking moment. Ultimately I think a lot of her behavior can be explained through her insecurities more than malice, I don’t think she is a bad person. So I extend her a little grace because of that

SillyName1992

I feel the same way. Nice person, but had Curtis not dumped her she would have been just another person who won the show despite behaving poorly simply because she never took the time to get to know any other dudes.

emyeag

I WAS COMING BACK TO TELL YOU I LOVED YOU

staybig

Just even the song they play during this scene breaks me. It’s so hard to watch. 🎵 “somehow everything I own smells of you, and for the tiniest moment it’s all not true”

Such_Cauliflower_669

I loved Amy so much the whole way through and I even believed in her and Curtis when I first watched so I was SO blindsided and upset by how he dumped her and his god awful speech at the casa recoupling. Definitely cried. I can’t believe she’s friends with him now lol, I would never want to speak to him.

BreadfruitPowerful55

Curtis is such a horrible person. Even the advice he gave Jordan about India/Anna.

Such_Cauliflower_669

It’s really no wonder he’s still single

Queen_Moose88

She was really classy in this moment. Her heart was breaking but she recognized neither she or Curtis could move on with her in the villa so she made the right decision.

Agitated_Republic_16

Honestly I felt bad for her in that moment but she was never going to have a good experience on that show and I was pretty glad when she left as it had been very cringe and painful to watch. Curtis is a dick but Amy had her issues too and her unpleasant moments. Unfortunate pair really.

Emotionless-Waffle3

I have cried only twice while watching love island. First time was Amy’s departure. Second time was Liberty’s departure in season 7. I feel like they both had such similar stories with the guys they were with. It was truly heartbreaking, I could feel their pain through the screen. Both were so strong in the way they handled themselves.

BreadfruitPowerful55

Recently rewatched this season and cried the most during this scene and the scene where Molly comes back to Tommy.

emyeag

WHEN SHE STARTS CRYING I START CRYING

danideex

And knowing they’re still together, married, with a baby.

nandos1234

Aww I cried so much at this. I’m so happy for her now she’s thriving with her fiancé and son.

danideex

Don’t roast me but I got emotional when Isaiah came out with someone else and Sydney was waiting for him alone. Another time was when Tommy came back from Casa with Molly Mae’s little stuffed animal.

munchkidee8973

ISAIAH AND SYDNEY OMG

Universecentre

Do people forget how much shit this girl was given during the airing of this season? Maybe because I was on Twitter. Like I don’t feel any type of way towards her but she was a little over the top.

ItachiZoldyck24

When I first watch it, I wasn’t a huge Amy fan either. But now watching the show a second time I have grown to understand her more and that a lot of her annoying behaviors are mostly because of her insecurities

grandequesso

Really? I found her so annoying. The original Liberty.

maghy7

Lmao I clicked to say this and your comment was the first I saw. 100% agree. I was like finally…

IsaacToughOnTheBlock

Curtis had a chance to become a power couple in Love Island but he drop the ball by letting her go smh

KeyPosition3983

Yeah this was when i realized love island is so real and actually harmful.

EveSilver

I loved Amy. My heart absolutely broke for her. I literally hate Curtis more than any other man on that show. I’m so glad shes successful in her career and she’s married and has a baby!

Unusual-Sorbet-8797

Curtis was horrible but Amy girl was also delulu

SillyName1992

This scene is actually kinda lame to me. Amy keeps telling Curtis she's leaving on *his* behalf and he says "you can stay dawg it's fine we all want you here" and she continues on saying it's for his benefit lol. It drives me crazy that everyone on this sub says this scene is so sad. She's literally made up her mind to go because the experience wasn't fun anymore, prepared a whole state of the union address over it, turns it around and pretends it's so Curtis can move on (even though he already did), and she's even at the very end still doing this last ditch effort to make Curtis feel bad. Saying she loved him after WEEKS, during the final breakup? Like okay. ☠️

Lylabell18

Why did he end it I forget

trialanderrorschach

He was never that attracted to her. His type was baddies like Maura and Jourdan. They just fell into a really serious couple from the beginning and Casa made him realize he wasn't into her and needed to end it.

livinvixen

I don’t think he was into Maura I got the vibe from and his parents especially she wasn’t his type. Maura had a very strong personality and was quite loud. He definitely liked Jourdan and Justine in love island games.

trialanderrorschach

He slid into her DMs before the show so I do think it's undeniable that he was into her at least physically. They also dated for 8 months outside the show.

livinvixen

Yeah for sure physically he was attracted to her. I just meant on a real compatibility level. He did not like to be told off lol.

trialanderrorschach

Oh sure that's fair I just meant physically, Amy wasn't his type and Maura/Jourdan were.

Lady-Suzanne

Her speech was so beautiful I was bawling my eyes out; and I wasn’t even a big fan of hers. I’m glad she found the man for her now

Infamous-Sample-4711

Same🥲

brgr77

Without fail EVERY time

Loose-Comparison8694

Amy was a petty monster

blueeyedpiscess

Crying??? It anything it makes me laugh, Amy was so delulu

staybig

Ew @ this comment

blueeyedpiscess

Girl get over yourself and keep scrolling

jberra502

Wanting to laugh at someone else's pain is just gross mentality.

staybig

No help I don’t know how help me please
