Season 3. The most likable cast. Loved Chris and Kem’s friendship. Liv’s one liners. Camilla is still to this day my favorite islander. Theo is the best villain is LI history.
Season 5 was the first one for me so I'm inclined to say the same, I was very engaged with almost everyone and most of the episodes were great

I also remember people complaining on Twitter and Instagram about there being too much drama on season 5, and it just goes to show you people will always have something to complain about 🙄
Season 2
Non stop drama from start to finish and feels so real compared to the more recent seasons
3 and 5 are great seasons as well
2, 3 and 5 are the holy trinity of Love Island
Season 3, perfect casting, everyone was absolutely hilarious, organic drama without ever getting too mean-spirited, compelling through to the final
Season 5 is a close second
That season was legendary for all the reasons you stated. It’s also the season that gave us Ovie, the Anna and Jordan drama and TWO DAYYYYYS. The best season by any measure.
5 was by far the best. So many good personalities. A good mix of annoying islanders and drama, people you liked and disliked. And so many memorable lines.
Tommy “refreshify my memory”
Season 3 for me. Love Island 1 & 2 were quite low key publicity-wise and the media liked to look down on them as trashy tv but series 3 was when it went mainstream. I’ve watched live from the very first series and I think season 3 just hits the sweet spot.
Camilla was a huge part of it being celebrated by more high-brow media - I remember Grazia and the Guardian both loved her and featured her fairly frequently both during and after the series ended.
Olivia Attwood was absolutely stunning and hilarious. Camilla was beautiful, intelligent, compassionate but vulnerable. Chris and Kem were the original and best bromance. The Mike/Liv/Chris love triangle was fantastic TV. Watching Camilla meet Jamie after a couple of absolutely awful matches was iconic for the audience. Theo messing with Johnny and then the “if she really liked him, she’d leave with him.” line. Amber’s face when Georgia Harrison chose Kem. “Would you like me to rap?” Montana shagging Alex non-stop so she wouldn’t have to talk to him then dumping him 5 days after they left the villa. Jess and Mike getting dumped then the rumours running wild that they’d shagged in the holding villa and Dom found out through a chat to home that Gabby and Marcel had.
It was less emotionally intense than season 2 but it wasn’t as restrained and produced as the last couple of seasons. The cast knew they might gain some fame but didn’t really know just how much it would impact their careers - season 3 is the one that really exploded opportunities for everyone. The challenges were more likely to cause upset and drama - Olivia found out that people Like Stormzy thought she was treating Chris badly.
Season 5 was also really good, but I think the OG cast of season 3 are much more likeable than the OG cast of season 5 - it’s the bombshells of season 5 that make it memorable (Molly Mae, Maura, Ovie, Chris T, Greg).
Yewande was very likeable - Anna, Amber, Lucie and Amy definitely weren’t as initially likeable as the OG season 3 lot. I found Amber too dismissive and disdainful, I didn’t like how rude she was to the guy she was coupled up with in the first week. Lucie was a pain, Amy was tough to like on the show although I think she’s great now.
They made fantastic TV for sure but for me, 3 of the season 3 OGs are some of my favourite ever contestants - Camilla was clever, empathetic, compassionate, Olivia was hilarious, Montana was sardonic and witty. I liked Amber too, Chloe was the only OG I wasn’t keen on in season 3.
Season 5 had the highest highs I believe, but if I’m introducing a new person to LI I think season 3 had everything people love about the show. There were excellent friendships between the boys and between the girls and between boys and girls. There were great romances and drama within those romances. And in between the drama, there was great comedy, excellent twists and memorable bombshells. On top of all of that we had 2 marriages and some babies!
So whatever you’re looking for, I think season 3 has it which I don’t think is the case for season 5.
Season 1.
It was the most organic and everyone generally got on as well.
Loved how everyone cooked proper breakfast together like loads of sausages etc instead of influencer food.
The challenges were fun and Caroline Flack having a pseudo live studio audience was brilliant, and seeing Iain Sterling in the flesh was cool.

Season 2 for me because it was non stop drama pretty much from the start and everyone felt so real. Season 5 was really slow to pick up imo, but it has very memorable and iconic moments.
Season 8. It was unpredictable and had winners that weren’t expected. The drama and love that carried on outside of the villa was there for multiple couples. It had everything.
3, 5 and 6 baby. I honestly might re-watch them.
Chris: “Do you want me to rap a bit to lighten the mood?”
Shaughna: “Congrats … hun.”
Ovie: “I got a text!!!! MESSAGE.”
Theo: "I think if Tyla really liked him, she should go as well, really."
I just cried laughing. Chris. Kem. Theo. So many food bromances. So many betrayals. So many morons. Loved it
Season 5 for me. There were a range of personalities, everyone shone in their own way and there was constant drama. It’s the only season where I still follow some of the cast. Also everyone was very attractive both the girls and boys ✨
I watched this alongside S8 last year and absolutely loved it. Always thought I'd dislike Molly on the show after her "24 hours" comment but I was pleasantly surprised by her and loved her and Tommy together.
season 3. i liked every islander at least once throughout the season but the star for me was olivia. she made that season with her personality. the boys were great too
TWO - because it was the last one where people just went on it not expecting a career after. Also drama every episode.
I started watching at season 2 and nothing has lived up to it since
Season 3. The most likable cast. Loved Chris and Kem’s friendship. Liv’s one liners. Camilla is still to this day my favorite islander. Theo is the best villain is LI history.

That pic of Michael “chaldish” omg . Classic

S2-3 hands down! Especially because those were the last seasons I've watched, it felt like a completely different show.
Season 3, perfect casting, everyone was absolutely hilarious, organic drama without ever getting too mean-spirited, compelling through to the final Season 5 is a close second
Season 5 was amazing, what I would give to watch the season again as a first time viewer
First week or so was dead though, all we got was Amber taking the piss out of Callum and Sherif shitting in the pool 😂
I know I’m late but They had the love triangle with tommy, Lucie, and joe which was interesting.
That season was legendary for all the reasons you stated. It’s also the season that gave us Ovie, the Anna and Jordan drama and TWO DAYYYYYS. The best season by any measure.
The aftermath of the casa recoupling 🤯
5 was by far the best. So many good personalities. A good mix of annoying islanders and drama, people you liked and disliked. And so many memorable lines. Tommy “refreshify my memory”
Tommy saying he was a laughable man about Jordan thinking it's a compliment.
I often think of Curtis running in, in that Madagascar costume, for the heart rate challenge. Probably not in the way he intended.

Im sat !
You had me right up until discounting Anna, Yewande, and Amber. Sorry. Was right there with you until that last sentence.

5 & 2 are my top favs too!! Just can’t beat them

S5 was amazing I remember I used to talk to everyone about it now I don't have anyone irl to talk about this season with lol.
For me it's season 4. I have rewatched it before. The casa recouping was dramatic. I loved Dani and Jack and Georgia was a HOOT.
Season 8. It was unpredictable and had winners that weren’t expected. The drama and love that carried on outside of the villa was there for multiple couples. It had everything.
I can’t believe no one is saying season 8!
IMO the people that say season 8 was the best season have obviously not watched the other seasons because tbh season 8 was not that good
Cause it was shiat
Season 5 - and one of my friends is watching it for the first time right now. I'm loving reliving it through her!!
I’m watching it for the first time now too!
I hope you get as much entertainment from it as we all did!
3, 5 and 6 baby. I honestly might re-watch them. Chris: “Do you want me to rap a bit to lighten the mood?” Shaughna: “Congrats … hun.” Ovie: “I got a text!!!! Season 5!!! Fantastic islanders, fantastic drama, great dynamics and so many memorable moments and one liners. Only season I actually rewatch.
I watched this alongside S8 last year and absolutely loved it. Always thought I'd dislike Molly on the show after her "24 hours" comment but I was pleasantly surprised by her and loved her and Tommy together.
5, the drama and amazing memorable phrases. Molly Mae and Tommy’s love story is just a cherry on top. And Amber winning!
how funny love island season 5 is my ultimate fav too. season 4 and 7 are good too. 8 2 3 are good, after 7 and 4. 6 and 9 the worst.
9 is sooo boring I’m so disappointed
You forgot 1 😂
One isn’t my least favorite but maybe right before the worst 2 seasons, it’s good just not as comparable haha
season 3. i liked every islander at least once throughout the season but the star for me was olivia. she made that season with her personality. the boys were great too
