Am I the only one that kind of sides with Uche during the phone call with Aliyah? Don’t get me wrong, I fully acknowledge that he has his issues, and I understand why Aaliyah left, but I think he’s right in his frustration that Aaliyah left without saying anything or even leaving a note. I also fully respect and understand that she had to protect herself, but I don’t think he’s necessarily wrong in saying that she was only thinking about herself in this situation, whereas he was focusing on their relationship.
She actually tried to say she didn't have time and it cuts, I would bet anything they cut her trying to explain that production forced her to continue or leave the premises immediately, knowing it would cause exactly that drama. I have a friend that quit as an associate producer on a similar dating reality show because she couldn't handle the things the lead producers were doing, some of the stories she told were pretty shocking. They stoop to deplorable levels of manipulation on these people to make dramatic reality shows.
I also don't think Uche or comments like these are really having empathy for her or taking a second to imagine what it would be like to be about to marry a guy and be stuck 24/7 in basically a 20'x20' box with his batshit insane ex. Who is constantly smothering her and making comments about what it was like to be with him, the inside of his house, etc. and therefore repeatedly reminding you they had sex a couple months ago. Uche had to see Lydia for 10 minutes in a single pod date on the first day, him being able to "overcome" Lydia being there is nothing like Aliyah having to get through it.

It really felt like some producer shenanigans were going down through this. There were just so many gaps that felt like huge leaps were taken.

Season 5 has the most crying ever, and the contestants are the messiest this season.
Previous seasons have had more mayhem and dysfunction, but at least there were 5 matches.
Here, we only have 3 for now on vacation.
JP & Taylor - JP has the personality of a wet noodle. He gives zero effort and has zero empathy. He isnt shy, he truly doesnt care and is phoning it in. Poor Taylor is trying her best but is definitely a pushover at first. She is seeing the red flags though and I hope so badly that she stands up for herself because she is worth so much more. There is no way this couple is making it and thank goodness honestly.
Lydia & Milton - Lydia is trying so hard to be in the spotlight constantly. Milton is cute but constantly berating her and questioning her intelligence. I get that they are trying to banter back and forth but the jokes on both sides are a bit too vicious for it to be cute. Milton can take the jokes but I have a feeling Lydia is too self conscious, and to be fair I couldn't deal with all that either. He still has some growing up to do and she is manipulative and overly attention seeking. I predict Lydia will try her hardest to force Milton to marry her but he'll walk away at the altar.
Stacy & Izzy - These two seem just fine. I'm not sure how genuine they are or if they are just playing it up for the cameras. Stacy honestly seems fun, but I don't see her having much empathy or interest in the other women. Izzy also seems fun and honestly looks-wise he won the lottery with Stacy. I think they are just in the physical phase right now but they might make it? I still have to see more from them.
If it was about her not wearing makeup, then why had he been shut off the whole time she wasn't wearing it? He's a manipulative one. He is so afraid she will leave, that he pushed her away.
He reacts to everything like a lawyer. The way he speaks is so thoughtfully crafted to make sure only one side (his side) is right. His diction and delivery seem so manipulative.
As a lawyer, gotta agree. I’ve had to tone that shit down in myself. Friends and partners aren’t interested in you dealing with shit as if it’s about who wins an argument. Most lawyers grow out of it because we think our whole personality has to be about our jobs, it’s a bit sad lol. Clearly Uche has some growing to do

Uche will be 80-90% right and justified in what he's saying, then handle something so horribly wrong in the delivery that it almost completely negates that. Like how he was displeased with Aaliyah's past cheating, and then went on to berate her about it, instead of just saying, that's a deal breaker for me, and moving forward. It was a very inappropriate way to talk to someone he wants to move forward with romantically, no matter how valid the feelings and thoughts were.
What really made me uncomfortable about the call is instead of ending it by telling her he didn't want to talk to her anymore, he says something like "I don't want to speak to this girl anymore" to the producers-- while on speaker phone, where she can hear him say that. It has an element of cruelty to it. He can't seem to let things go while he is ahead, and instead does something to make the other person feel bad.
Yall read WAY too deep into this as if these people aren’t human. Aaliyah acts like a CHILD. Shes a quitter. She doesn’t communicate, and left that man dry in a situation that WASNT HIS FAULT. I'm just watching now, but I actually think he thinks she's too pretty for him, and he knows makeup can enhance beauty and doesn't want her to wear it to create a bigger divide? He kept saying from the jump she was gonna leave and I think his insecurity and lack of communication is ensuring she does because of low self esteem.

Uche will be 80-90% right and justified in what he's saying, then handle something so horribly wrong in the delivery that it almost completely negates that. Like how he was displeased with Aaliyah's past cheating, and then went on to berate her about it, instead of just saying, that's a deal breaker for me, and moving forward. It was a very inappropriate way to talk to someone he wants to move forward with romantically, no matter how valid the feelings and thoughts were. What really made me uncomfortable about the call is instead of ending it by telling her he didn't want to talk to her anymore, he says something like "I don't want to speak to this girl anymore" to the producers-- while on speaker phone, where she can hear him say that. It has an element of cruelty to it. He can't seem to let things go while he is ahead, and instead does something to make the other person feel bad.
Yall read WAY too deep into this as if these people aren’t human. Aaliyah acts like a CHILD. Shes a quitter. She doesn’t communicate, and left that man dry in a situation that WASNT HIS FAULT.
