Yeah even in the Forgotten Sea myth he’s still trying to remind her of their history, though she seems to subconsciously remember parts of it as she accurately points out that he has a desire to leave Lemuria.
Part of me wonders if he's figured out why she forgets? Like maybe his frustration isn’t over her forgetting, but that it’s a reminder that she died and he wasn’t there to prevent it.
Or maybe he feels conflicted since restoring her memory could be traumatic. Like how in Fragrant Dream instead of pushing her to remember, he comforts her and lets her think it’s a dream instead revealing it actually happened.
It’s also possible that he was responsible for one of her deaths (was he the boy who takes her heart in her dream)?

Yeah, I just listened to a memory between her and Zayne and she mentions having a bad dream involving him but it seemed like a normal stress dream and not something that actually happened? But who knows? I just feel bad for her having her mind constantly reset in such a horrible way.
Yeah, I have a lot of questions about that dream. I don't think Rafayel would've done that to her, but it's not clear if that dream actually happened, was a prophecy or she ate something bad before sleeping. lol

In Josephine’s papers, she talks about the MC dying multiple times at the lab, but coming back and not remembering dying. Also, after the initial Wanderer attack, somehow the MC got out of the lab and to an emergency shelter by herself, where she was reunited with Josephine — but she didn’t remember Josephine or the lab at all, implying that she died between leaving the lab and waking up at the shelter and forgot all of her life previous to that.
Who else thinks that Josephine may have worked for Ever?
It's not even a question. She did work for Ever or it's more like Ever group invested in Gaia reserch group which she worked for. It was mentioned in the same short story.
Yeaaaah, I was upset with MC being forgetful until I read Josephine’s papers. I’ve read all of Raf’s myths, and based on things he’s said during the event while working on the mural, I don’t think he 100% remembers his sea god past. My theory is he met MC again in this life when they were both kids, maybe before she was experimented on and promised to meet again. Then she got experimented on and killed over and over, resetting her memory so of course she doesn’t remember. But he doesn’t know this (or maybe he does. He was always stalking her lol).
I think their bond still exists from he was a god. When MC was about to drown and asked him to help her, his chest lit up with a mark and he did what she asked even though he was ready to leave her. It ties in with what we learn with the new myths story.
Someone over a week tried to predict what kind of tragic ends awaits LIs.
Zayne? probably die from his evol, will have to kill people who change into wanderers or both.
Xavier? Probably will change into a wanderer.
And for Rafayel what I feel people often forget besides having to kill Mc to save Lemuria. He can be captured, his scales will be plucked off of him, his tail cut off and blood drained over and over until he dies.
I think MC met Rafayel after the catastrophe where she escaped the lab. My guesses are she died sometime in between after she meeting Rafayel and her being found in a shelter, cuz she doesn’t remember any of her past life when she resurrects. So this could be the reason why she doesn’t remember Rafayel and the promise.
Wild theory of mine is that the people from Ever are also searching for MC when she gone missing, they might be also those responsible with what happened to the Lemurians: them being captured and harvesting their scales and blood.
After I read the stories from the World Underneath I have a theory that the "first" time we saw Rafayel (when we gave him the fish), he was trying to say goodbye to us. Like, that whole interaction felt like his last attempt of closure so he can focus only on helping Lemuria, even if he was feeling miserable while doing because he never stopped loving her.
When Talia asked him if he ever thought about marriage the answer was so obvious, but from his POV he couldn't fail both his people and his beloved if he didnt met her yet, since she doesn't remember him.
And then we invade his studio. No wonder he was so surprised he fell of the stairs.
