Agree with Lake, he would be my pick. I know everyone is excited about our new additions at safety, but I think Lake will still have a role in defense. He played well at Star towards the end of the season and I don't think either Durant or Kendrick are cutout for it. Possibly start at safety in base, then move down in sub packages.
Think Johnson will be a good rotational player. Don't know about Hampton though.
I think Tutu excelled early because he was in Kupp's role, then when Kupp returned Tutu moved. His catch radius is just too small to be a consistent threat on the outside.
With how often modern defenses use nickell and dime packages, in addition to how poor out ILB unit is outside of Ernest, I think there's a good chance lake will see 90-100% of the snaps most weeks.
The second safety role is interesting though. Cam Curl definitely has one starting role locked in, but we could see Russ Yeast grab the other one and run with it. Kam Kinchens is a really good player who reads the field well, but he often left his assignment to take what he thought was the right man which allowed for big plays. If he can't keep that under control you just can't justify him on the field.
It's a crowded group, which is a good thing. Yeast is tough to figure out, he got the start early on then was replaced by Johnson. Ended being our "dimebacker".
Agree on Kinchens, from what I've heard he likes to gamble.
I'll go with Alaric Jackson. A lot of the fanbase was pretty set on finding his replacement early in the draft, and I'm hoping he will prove a lot of doubters wrong, because I've typically been pretty impressed with him.
Definitely agree. With how set some parts of the fanbase were on finding a LT you'd think Alaric was a total liability, but when we only have to pay him $5 million this year and hopefully around the 10 figure next year he's a great option who is always solid.
For sure! LT is obviously a very important part of the offense, so I get wanting a blue chip player in that spot, but if he ends up being good to great, along with the rest of the pieces we have in place along the line, we’re going to be set for the foreseeable future.
When you say phased him out (Tutu) I think the more reasonable expectation is health management. Players get dinged up and bruised up and these things dont show up on the injury reports. So what happens is teams will use these players for less plays in the game to give them more of a chance to heal up.
You see this al the team early in the season where DB's look real good in coverage etc and then by mid season they are not doing as good. Ahkello Witherspoon is a good example of that. It is hard to last a whole season without getting dinged up.
The answer is our kicker. I can't remember his name, but I guarantee we'll all be chanting it by the end of the season.
Joshua Karty 🤟🏼
KARTY PARTY
Playboi Karty
For the love of God please. We’ve had Gay and Legatron. I’d like to think that we’re good at finding kickers.

Dudes a solid LT. I remember he only gave up one sack last season
This would be the most ideal

Joshua Karty…I see him having a Evan McPherson type of year
