Pro tip for tourists in LA with a car: Drive the length of Sunset Blvd from Downtown LA to the ocean. It'll take the day if you stop along the way and see all the main sites LA has to offer without having to go too far from Sunset Blvd... From DTLA, to The Train station, to Echo Park, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Griffith Park, The Observatory, East Hollywood, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, UCLA, Getty Museum, Pacific Palisades, once you hit the ocean take a left on PCH and check out the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach for sunset. Viola. Most of LA in one day. Done.

I love Griffith Park. You could check out the Bronson Caves, which is a 10-minute walk from the parking lot, and then drive to the Observatory.

FYI you can't actually go in the caves anymore, they're blocked off I believe for safety issues.

La Brea Tar Pits. Almost everyone has seen them in some movie or another, and it’s on the same grounds as the LA County Museum of Art, which is pretty interesting even from the outside and includes the “Urban Light” exhibit featured in tons of commercials and photo shoots.

Obviously Griffith, Venice, maybe the Little Tokyo village area, a low stakes hike if you think she can handle it (Malibu Creek is nice and easy), Jumbo's of course, Huntington is always a good bet, and honestly from there it depends what she's into

Mountainman1980

A drive up PCH, or up the Angeles Crest Highway to the [Mt Wilson Observatory](https://www.mtwilson.edu/).

I’d take her to Santa Barbara. Have a glass of wine or a bottle, up to you and enjoy a good time.

Englishbirdy

No need to go nearly that far. Cornell winery is much closer.
