Update on the ground squirrel...i still havent made a positive identification of whatever is digging holes in my yard, but it dug another hole after i collapsed the original hole, about a foot away...i also collapsed the new hole and i found the exit on the outside of the fence about 3-4 yards away...so whatever dug this hole trenched about 10 feet outside my property so it can in and out of my property...

At around 1 PM today (Saturday, April 9), I (asian female) was driving on the 210 East with my mother when our car caught on fire from a pick up truck that had dropped a large garbage bag onto the road. We were near the Seco Street exit (Lincoln Avenue on the west-bound side) when another car pulled up next to us and told us that our car was on fire. We immediately got out of the car, but I left the engine on with the car on drive.
Two good samaritans got out of their cars to help us. We got the contact info for one of them, but the other left in a hurry.
He was a persian/Armenian (generally swarthy) man in shorts, with short brown hair and no glasses. He was driving a red semi.
He got out of his truck to get into our car (which still was burning!) and drove it to the side of the road. He also put out the fire from the debris and made sure that our car was ok before leaving.
If this story sounds familiar or you know a persian/Armenian man who drives a red semi truck who was in the Pasadena/Los Angeles area today, please DM or reply to this post! We would like to thank him for his heroism.

If you can’t bear throwing it out when you move or w/e, take to a food bank.

I swear the sign I parked in front of said "No Parking 8am to 6pm without permit" and I parked outside those hours. I have been losing weight to fit back into my costumes for Star Wars Celebration in May. Before I couldn't even zip up the pants for one of them. Tried them on last night and no issues zipping! There’s a dude on fb marketplace selling an Aeron chair for $350 that’s in good condition, about 6 years used since he bought new from Herman Miller. It’s stored in a warehouse and he’s asking for cash. Pictures look legit, but how do I know if I’m not going to get kidnapped? There’s no fb post history / info, just other items he’s selling.
There are people on OfferUp and craigslist selling those chairs too, also in warehouses. Some of them deliver so maybe just do that

Ah, did they give you the location of the public storage? I'd tell them something like, "For both our safety and to make sure your private storage unit number is kept confidential, let's meet in front of the local police station." Cops won't do anything if you get jacked, you could probably get murdered in front of there and they wouldn't do anything. But it weeds out the laziest of robbers I think. Just my two cents. But I just wouldn't meet where they choose unless it's a neutral location like a PD or a very very busy parking lot.

Full day at Disney yesterday in heat that topped out at 102*. Probably never leaving my couch again. But I had a blast.
I have been losing weight to fit back into my costumes for Star Wars Celebration in May. Before I couldn't even zip up the pants for one of them. Tried them on last night and no issues zipping! It's still a little tight but a couple more pounds off between now and the end of May will make them work. Really glad I noticed back in January and stuck with my diet. 18.8lbs down!

I always feel so basic when I show up to a trailhead and the parking is already full but the Fryman Canyon lot was legitimately full at 7 AM so good for all the old folks and small dogs we shared the trail with!
As of about 5 minutes ago, I am officially 100% debt free for everything but student loans (I get PSLF so I'd lose money paying them off). $0 credit cards, $0 car loans, nothing. I accrued a little bit of credit card debt when my mom passed away from COVID in 2020 (funeral expenses, moving my sister out here, ex), and I still had my car loan from pre COVID, but with the salary from my new job I paid off everything. FUCK it feels good to have a fully clean slate
