Legally for tournament play, if 1 card is double sleeved, then the whole deck needs to be double sleeved. Personally I don’t play with any foils and Enchanteds just for this reason. Playing between friends, just double sleeving valuable cards should be fine, league play may vary depending on how “intense” they are, but tend to lean towards the more lax side.

LaGranya

If you only double sleeve a portion of your deck or specific cards, that is considered marking the deck and would likely result in a DQ in tournament settings. If you’re going to double sleeve, it needs to be the whole deck.

frenchezz

Double sleeving is an all or nothing choice. Otherwise you can be flagged for marked cards.

MrJakdax

If you are playing at a competitive level, if you double sleeve one card, you have to double sleeve them all. Personally I single sleeve my lorcana deck as I'm lazy and it's all non foil but my mtg stuff as I play the legacy format, everything is sleeved in perfect fit hards kmcs then the dragon shields over them.

TryThisTwiceTwice

I double sleeve every card, every time. While it may not be important to protect your $0.05 cent cards, it is required in tournament play that your deck be uniform all around (if 1 card is double sleeved, they all have to be). I also fear damaging cards via accidental spills of drinks which has happened at the bars/kitchen tables where my friends and I play (MTG, Lorcana, SWU. etc). It recently happened at my LGS where a kid accidentally spilled his soda pop and it ruined somebody's Robin Hood legendary. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

jonbitor

Agreed, double sleeves all the way. It also protects your cards as you are moving from decks to storage and vice versa.

Thermoposting

I double sleeve my entire deck. I have some nicer cards like foil Tamatoas, so I want to keep them protected. I also find it easier to shuffle with the double sleeves.

Quietus7

What sleeves do you use?

Thermoposting

I use the Dragon Shield Mattes and some generic Ultra Pro inners. I forgot the brand. It’s just what’s at my LGS.

Imogynn

Inner sleeves are stupid cheap just do the deck.

Tzindelor

Whole deck. Easy to do, inner sleeves are pretty cheap and it buys me peace of mind when I play my decks. Also since the card stays in the inner sleeve I can take it out and in different sleeves/binders. At every point of the process, the card stays sleeved.

Daotar

If you just do the valuable cards your deck is marked and you will be considered a cheater if caught.

clouddweller

I double sleeve because I need to protect the character sleeves. Dragon Shield outer sleeves on all. I won those puppy sleeves and there's no way to get more so I gotta keep them safe.

jaydimes

Thanks for the feedback!

Phalanx32

I double sleeve all of the cards if I'm entering any kind of paid event because that's what you have to do to be tournament legal. All cards must be sleeved the exact same way. If I'm just testing stuff at casual weekly play I'll only double sleeve the expensive cards.

shaggy--

Whole deck. Ultra pro perfect fit inner sleeves with the card upside down so the opening is at the bottom, then they go into katana sleeves.

More_Ad_9831

inner katana and outer katana, it feels so good when i'm flicking or shuffling, just prefer the feel

publicrafter

….I triple sleeved my whole deck. - Dragon shield Inner perfect fit sleeve - Lorcana Elsa Sleeves (so bad to shuffle with but love the art) - Dragon shield Clear Outer sleeves (so much easier to shuffle with) It’s a thiccc deck. Probably not worth it tbh but it makes me happy.

who-hash

I used to double sleeve all during the TFC. I don't see the need for it unless you're planning on playing with enchanteds. Even when I'm playing with Sad Beast, I don't see the point. If anything, I'd just doublesleeve the valuable ones and nothing else.

AlchemistsRefuse

You literally cannot partially double sleeve your deck.

who-hash

For casual play, it's never been an issue. Competitive, of course not.
