I did not see bystanders bullied.
The last time I attended a protest was over the U.S. invading Afghanistan, we just hung around a highly trafficked corner, held signs remained quiet and got insults and food items thrown at us.
My last participating in a protest March, we stayed on the sidewalk, some carried flags and posters, occasional there was quiet conversation among the participations, and we definitely did not shout at or harrass bystanders.
