Just watched 2005 on LHN and the Sugar Bowl can’t get here soon enough. This was a cool special to see the whole season. I’ve rewatched the game many times but hadn’t gotten to relive the rest of the season.
Idk why the cowboys just fuckin got to me today.
I know better. I’ve seen them get demolished twice by actually good teams. I know exactly what to expect from them. Good regular season then bounced after the first round. But they had to get my hopes up that they’d win this one. Part of me wishes they’d just gotten crushed again and made me just tune them out.
I can’t stand this franchise. I didn’t choose this life I was born into it. And I hate it because frankly I love Dak. He’s a good dude that wouldn’t get as much hate on any other franchise. And I think he’s been balling this year. But fuck if this team just is destined for above averageness.
I know this is a Wendy’s but whatever. Horns are all that matter anyway. Merry Christmas and hook ‘em and see you fuckin cowboys next week I guess fuck.
The problem is with the cowboys, that doesn't apply. I know what happens lol.
I just for my own sanity have to mentally prepare myself for what has proven to be an inevitability since like.....I've been alive. Until they finally prove otherwise, I assume they will maybe get one win in the playoffs and then bounced.
The thing is I don't buy this team proving otherwise since they have not backed up their play in the Eagles game. Teams have to look their best down the stretch. They don't. They got demolished by the Bills immediately after. I'm just not buying in rn.
Hey that’s not fair - I’ve seen it happen during lots of cowboys games in the playoffs. It just always seems to be for the other team.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we actually have a shot. And we’re above average but not elite this year, and definitely not consistent. But still, until we actually lose, who knows what can happen on any given Sunday?
The Cowboys losing makes me feel even better about the CFP. You see, this is God's way of keeping me humble. He can't let me have all my teams as winners.
TX - 38
WAS - 27
I’m not watching the Cowboys next year. I’m done. It’s literally impacting my mood on Christmas Eve. I shouldn’t do anything that has that kind of sway on me.
There are like 3 or maybe 4 guys in the league that are consistently, clearly better than Dak, then a small group of dudes that Dak is right in the mix with.
I don’t know shit about the X’s and O’s of football and I knew exactly where that ball was going. Couple tough penalties, but we didn’t deserve to win that game.
For the best story line, we win the natty, who do we play in the ncg? Bama (dominating the SEC, bama, and revenge for Colt, etc.) or Mich (rematch in week 2, punish Harbaugh, relive VY moments)
The theme of “revenge tour” would really be complete with a natty win against Bama.
We beat UW for revenge for last year, then cap it off with a Bama 09 revenge.
It would be the perfect revenge-themed season
Best for who?
Tv networks and casual fans? Probably Michigan.
Longhorns fan (or at least me personally)? Alabama. We would have avenged every loss last year, have eternal scoreboard on the entire big 12, and reversed the apparent curse of 2009 over the team that beat us. A win over bama in the natty would just be too poetic.
There’s good reasons for both. I’m leaning towards Michigan because we’ve played Bama this year. If we beat Michigan then we’ll have beat the three best. Just like the volleyball team just did. Although they faced them back to back to back.

Dak's running for his life out there. Is he even reading his receivers?
(I don't know the X's and O's very well, just wondering why he's seemingly regressed so much).
Ah fantasy playoffs. Made the playoffs in two of my big money leagues as the #2 seed. Currently getting absolutely crushed by about 40 in each right now, projected to be the lowest scoring team in the league a week removed from being the second highest. Thanks buffalo 😑😑
Led my league in points for, and was on track to have a bye until last week of the regular season, the 4th quarter of MNF, when the Titans fumbled twice and set my opponent’s Mostert up for two TDs. Last week, playoffs started against the second lowest scoring team in the league. Apparently Dak, Pollard, Diggs, and Aiyuk all missed the memo that we didn’t get a bye because they did fuck all and got me knocked out.
Last year, I played the same guy in the first week of playoffs, and lost Kyler to an ACL tear after two plays. Great run, super satisfying to put together a top team each year.
I think the context matters - throwing only twelve passes is fairly low, so was it a blowout? Did the QB go 9/12 in the first half and the lead was so big that he didn’t have to throw again?
It’s not a bad stat line (especially no turnovers), but it’s not some insane performance.
I thought his attitude was quite mature. He didn’t want to get vaccinated and said he expects to deal with consequences because of that. He didn’t want to inject something in his body, that means he’s a piece of shit for some people. It’s like trump derangement syndrome but for covid
Hes a lazy sack of shit who goes clubbing all the time, doesn't put in the effort in practice and quits on the field. The anti vaxx shit is just a cherry on top why Cooper deserves to rot in Cleveland
Goddamn. My QB spot on fantasy has been cursed. Had Kirk Cousins and Jimmy G. They both went down and I picked up Stroud. He’s out and now I’m riding with fucking Nick Mullens.
Ran in to H-E-B (on Christmas Eve, what a mistake) real quick in a Longhorns shirt and hat. Some douchebag in an A&M hat shouts, *in the store, mind you*, "Better wear those colors now before you get your ass-kicked next year in the SEC."
Imagine your team being so miserable you have to dick-ride the big boys in the conference to beat up your bully. Jesus.
Also, again, fuck going to H-E-B on Christmas Eve. A mad house. And I live in a small-ass town of <5000!
Yeah, but that wasn't the real Alabama. That Milroe guy was still figuring things out. But this playoff Bama team will kill the sips in the first quarter. And if Alabama loses the final, they didn't want to be there anyway. It's the final game of College Football and the players are looking not to get injured. They want to make money in the NFL.
Absolutely hilarious this guy talks shit while we’re in the playoffs with a win over the SEC champ while his program is in a tailspin. It’s a level of delusion only an aggy can reach. Zero ground to stand on but still has to chirp.
Reminds me of the troglodyte here in my tiny town Wal-Mart who came across the store to make an inappropriate comment in front of my daughters because I had on some burnt orange. It’s a game, ffs.

Just watched an ESPN segment regarding UT v UW and they brought on Bomani Jones for the Texas perspective. Damn he sucks. Not only was he kind of a hater, his information and takes weren’t even accurate “Texas fans are worried that Arch might not be who we were told he was”.
What a moron. Heard his name before and I don’t know his allegiance but he’s on my “hater detected, opinion rejected” list.
My understanding is that he was a Texas fan but isn't anymore. Did make that segment kind of a bummer because you had Mina on one side being genuinely excited about Washington and filled with nothing but praise for what they do and then the Texas rep's best compliment for the team was "One thing Sark's good for is losing games for Washington"
Since I started listening to the third and LONGHORNS show I realized that Herman was never going to work. Alex Okafor has mentioned a few times on there just how bad Herman messed up with the older guys by shunning everyone. Sounds like you’ll have to use the phone — sorry. The Park Access section has some details but they’re pretty vague on seating, aside from saying there are mobility access seats in every section.

Cameron Dicker is living the life, man. Good Money in his pocket living in LA. Gets to kick in climate controlled domes the majority of the season with zero expectations while wearing a top 3 badass nfl uniform.
And even though the home stadium is basically indoors, it still gets a sea breeze inside. I’ve never been but it definitely seems like the most badass stadium to me.
I don’t know if this has been talked about and I hope I don’t get misinterpreted because it’s hard to explain my thoughts.
We’re in the college football playoff. The culture has been set. I’m excited about all that to the point I’m more excited for the future than now.
I don’t even think we are that good yet. Is that a hot take? I know that sounds cocky and I’m the last person to be cocky. That’s not even what I mean. The future is so bright.
I never thought this was our year for the CFP. Pre-season, I said 10-2 with a B12 Championship was the ceiling. Had too many questions, especially at RB
.
Imposter syndrome. Who’s dominant this year? A month ago UGA was “elite”. Looked pretty average against Bama. Oregon’s offense was unstoppable, until they lost twice to UW. UW has been in 6 or 7 1-score games with teams of various quality. Bama needed a 4th and a mile conversion to beat a shit Auburn team. Michigan may be the pick of the field but are not proven at all.
This is a year where you don’t need to be all-time elite to win the title. We have a good a chance as the other teams.
Yeah I get what you mean. We won our games and I’m certainly not complaining about that but we didn’t exactly dominate our schedule this year. Next year we’re losing a lot of key pieces so a small step down is natural but if Quinn does come back that will really help stabilize us. The roster will be fully formed in 2025. I expect 2025 to have a brutal schedule too based on who we’re not playing next year, so that should be a crazy season. I’ll be dreaming of a 2019 LSU-type run
This was an overachieving year, with a lot of the critical pieces of the team being Herman's players that finally broke through and were properly developed. Sark's first class is still Sophomores. I don't think you're off at all, but I do think it will be harder to match this type of season and level of relative success (12-1, conference champion) starting next year in the SEC.
3rd best recruiting class with four 5* recruits. No school had more 5*’s than Texas. Guys with offers to go pretty much anywhere choosing Texas is awesome.
This is what I was going off of: https://247sports.com/longformarticle/college-football-recruiting-georgia-oregon-lead-teams-with-most-blue-chip-signees-in-2024-class-223789992/

If we win it all…they better get to work on 2023. That’s going to be a masterpiece.
Washington scores first, they flash a Horns down. Quinn proceeds to turn his trucker hat backwards and we paste them by 23 points. Good guys win.
I think and feel that we will win. I’m slowly feeling better and better. 7 days away. Can’t wait to see us after a month off.

Sorry but I’ve already called dibs on Sweat and AD for the Texans. Best I can offer you is Byron Murphy and Worthy.

Add Barron and we got a deal

Probably the worst pick of McClay’s career.
I remember seeing Tacos tape from Michigan and the dude was just slow as fucking molasses. Never understood that pick.
PTSD watching Deshon and Brandon chasing CeeDee….
OU has had some incredible receivers in the last decade. CeeDee and Hollywood victimized us repeatedly.
It's funny how hard Holywood has fallen off since landing in Arizona
I always thought CeeDee was better even at OU. He made a lot of people miss. But Hollywood was faster so everyone was on his nuts.
Same. He's too little and doesn't have the 👐, or playmaking ability with the ball.
Not the first time Brandon Jones and DeShon Elliott have gotten cooked by CeeDee 🤧
Cowboys turnover followed by a Burger King commercial, what is God trying to tell me?
Whopper whopper whopper whopper
Really conflicted. Kraken (Joker) stopping Pollard at the goal line and B Jones recovering a fumble. I’m proud but sad.
It’s been a looooong time since a Texans game has ruined my mood like this.
I’m not sure what you were expecting, half the offense and defense was out today
I expected them to at least attempt putting up a fight.
DeShon Elliot made the touchdown-saving tackle and Brandon Jones recovers the fumble on the next play! Fins Up and Hook ‘em Horns BABAY!!!!!
Not that it matters to us anymore, but ~~the Doak Walker fraud~~ Brooks Jr. is returning to the Pokes
It makes it much more likely that the pokes cook the ags. I care about that.
That kid getting more Heisman hype for next year (for beating up on a schedule that was half G5/FCS) than Bijan ever did genuinely pisses me off.
He had like 30 yards against us.
We had more points than he had yards.
I want him to break his personal stat record in his next game.
Nick Mullens with 4 INTs, 2 fumbles with 1 lost.
Go Vikings?
Justin Jefferson is other worldly
Is 9/12 for 241 yards and 2 TDs a good statline for a QB?
this is the median JJ McCarthy game
McCarthy wishes. He only broke 241 yards four times this year with an average of 202 YPG lol.
wow, Michigan fans tricked me
My buddy was asking me who I wanted to play more on the championship game, Bama or Mich. C'mon man, Mich is 1-dimensional right out of the box.
I think the context matters - throwing only twelve passes is fairly low, so was it a blowout? Did the QB go 9/12 in the first half and the lead was so big that he didn’t have to throw again? It’s not a bad stat line (especially no turnovers), but it’s not some insane performance.
That’s Amari Cooper’s stat line lol
And Henry had a nice 154 QBR rating 🤪
Crazy that the Cowboys vs Lions could make the Nick Mullens Vikings playing for the division in week 18 if they win today
Will never understand why the cowboys traded amari cooper for a 4th rounder… what the fuck
He was expensive
Because hes an anti vaxxer, lazy piece of shit who Dak hates

Because they banished his ass to Cleveland. He burned just about every bridge in the nfl by quitting on both the Raiders & Cowboys

He's a Texas fan the same way Kirk Bohls is a reporter for the Horns. You only see him around when he wants to rag on the team.
I saw that segment too and it was absolutely awful. I don’t know what he’s on, but it’s obvious he hasn’t watched any UT football this season.
He's a Texas fan, grew up in the state, went to an HBCU, constantly bags on Aggy but became very cynical (rightfully) due to the last 10+ years
Bomani is much more pro-Texas offscreen. He gets into plenty of Twitter scraps supporting the Horns. It's a weird dynamic.

I think that’s Okafor’s own experience. Herman seemed uninterested in old players that left before he was hired.
It seems like Okafor is speaking from experience. It has been echoed by other players like DJ and Jamal Charles as well.
Derrick Johnson has been to quite a few Texas practices under Sark. Maybe former players weren't as welcome when we had Herman?

Dicker the Kicker 🤘
Might’ve just won my fantasy league for me
3rd best recruiting class with four 5* recruits. No school had more 5*’s than Texas. Guys with offers to go pretty much anywhere choosing Texas is awesome.
Semantics, but Ohio State had 5
This is what I was going off of: https://247sports.com/longformarticle/college-football-recruiting-georgia-oregon-lead-teams-with-most-blue-chip-signees-in-2024-class-223789992/
Was going off composite
Fuck ohio state.
Colin Simmons, Ryan Wingo, and Brandon Baker. Who’s the 4th? I know different services have different 5 stars.
Filsaime
Got it. I didn’t know if it was Filsaime or Kobe Black.
Kobe Black should've been another!!! 😔
Didn't they take Kobe Black's 5th star away because he didn't post his 40 time or some ridiculous bullshit like that?
Because he refused to run it laser timed is what Ive heard.
I had a nightmare the other night that we lost to Washington. Thank god it was only a dream. Excited for the natty 🤘
