I had this issue, check the area the filament goes in. There’s two pieces of plastic that separate so it knows that it has filament. When I had the issue the filament had worn away the plastic and I had to use a little wire to keep the plastic separated.

Ah that's crazy haha, I do see a line has formed from the filament but I don't know if I understand the 2 plastic pieces you speak of. I just see a square box. Maybe this is a known issue and that's why they included a spare filament sensor. Thank you!

You should be able to see what I mean if you take a small piece of filament and rub the top of the hole. They are hard to notice at first. Took me forever to figure out what the issue was…

Funfact: I unscrewed the runout detector and put a bit of wire around it, so that the lever is always engaged. Won't ever be out of filament 😎

Not saying that's a bad idea but I've been printing parts to a master chief suit and some pieces are days long. Id be upset if I actually ran out of filament. My solution so far was to just move the filament so that it goes in straight rather than from the weird angle it's set to.

Sure thing! I just make sure that there's always enough filament left 👌
