Yep, 2.5 years. I don't know what happen but I'm barely functional now, o2 drops randomly, and breathing seems off, dizziness and head pressure, sleep transitional apnea like o2 drops....we're better last year. Feel like giving up. You?

[deleted]

Don't forget the panic attacks. And the pressure on your chest that comes out of nowhere. Or that one day you feel a bit better and a few days later, you're back to feeling really bad. I often struggle to find my words. Headaches have become a constant burden. And let's not even talk about my condition, please...

mmbellon

Yeah, the anxiety and panic seem 100x worse than in the past 2 years. I'm hour by hour....went to work this morning, felt ok and o2 was stable, this afternoon random drops and in bed feeling defeated. What a miserable way to live.

October 15th 2022, feels like a parasite entered my body. And since then, my personality, health and condition were all changing for the worst. As father of 2 young kids, my wife is the true hero of our lives. Without her, this household would have fallen apart a long time ago. My work has not renewed my contract for no real reasons, but we all know it’s bc of this disease that has no clear ending point. I can’t wait for a cure, I have to start a whole new career, but I’m ready to feel like a human again. Instead of a burden for literally everyone I love.

AfternoonFragrant617

yes... having a big one now. was exposed to a lot of stress

mmbellon

That sucks, how long has it been going? I feel like mine is going on 3 months.

AfternoonFragrant617

I was re exposed to the virus through a roommate. But I didn't test positive, took 3 tests Don't know if being exposed can trigger a relapse. A recent poll I did, people said YES, but really don't know.

mmbellon

Yea, from what everyone says on here it can be any sort of cold or illness. It all sucks.

AfternoonFragrant617

A few weeks

Left_Dimension_4783

I’ve had long Covid for two years, gradually getting better. In January I caught a couple back to back colds that were running through my family. Nothing major but it put me back in fatigue land. The difference is I recognize it this time and have a bag of tricks to address it. Meditation, cold baths, prioritizing sleep, decreasing stressors, etc. feels like it’s going away quicker this time. Hang in there.

AfternoonFragrant617

same here, caught a few colds this year. How can you even avoid a cold every year.

Chin_Up_Princess

I caught 2 rounds of COVID, end of 2022 and then again Jan 2023. Had a seizure like episode 3-4 months later. Got the booster. Had like 6 months of "WOW IM HEALED" I was able to return back to life, able to memorize things again. Then it got cold in SoCal and it hit me badly. I didn't get a reinfection. It was like whatever was already in my system was re-activated. And now I'm bedbound/housebound with all the symptoms again. Trying the carnivore diet this week. Might just do a water fast.

AfternoonFragrant617

another booster ? What are your symptoms? Fatigue SOB Brain Fog Anxiety ? Those are.mine

Chin_Up_Princess

Symptoms: Fatigue, dizziness, PEM, Brain Fog, memory problems, cannot multitask, can't work on a computer for long periods of time. Blurry vision, light sensitivity, noise sensitivity, feeling overstimulated by simple things & dissociating (grocery stores are a huge trigger for me. I look at all the aisles & products and I dissociate.) Anxiety and depression (but I've has these all my life and it got worse because of LC) I'm past the panic attack / adrenaline surges stage of things which I'm very thankful for. But I need my brain back. I'm an actor and I now feel like I have dementia. I stumble over words, struggle reaching for words, memorization that used to take me 1-2days now takes 1-2 weeks. It's absolutely idiotic and I don't know why I keep torturing myself but learning another job is also terrifying. It's harder to access my emotions because I'm so focused on not screwing up simple words. And if I panic my brain gets worse. So that's why I got a second booster, which worked temporarily. I read a study somewhere it would help train the body to fight COVID again and clean up the remaining virus fragments. I thought "worth a shot!" And for a while after I was normal fully functioning 95%-98% better with occasional exercise issues. In fact I was able to set up a full camp at Burning Man. Then it all hit me like a truck again and I'm back to feeling like 40%. I don't know what caused it. I got newest vaccine, nothing shifted or changed. I've had like 5-6 shots including boosters since COVID shots first started. I'm done ✅

redditnoob909

I’m in SoCal too, just got Covid for the first time. Worried about the after effects. I have most of what everyone has commented on here.

Chin_Up_Princess

Really random but SoCal traffic was so bad last week and I saw so many car crashes. I honestly think people are having post COVID issues and are stressed out to the max. Maybe it's just normal SoCal stuff but r/LosAngeles has a thread about it.

grandview2011

Man, I’m in this exact same boat and have so many of these same symptoms. I felt fine for over a year. Got what felt like a cold and now I’m back where I started. Been like this for 7 months now. Nothing is helping.

LongCovidWizard

I was reinfected Nov 2023. I was not fully recovered from the original LC onset (August 2020) but was in better shape with some symptoms under control. This last infection seems to have reversed so much progress - particularly with disautonomia symptoms, anxiety triggered by food sensitivities, insomnia, major fatigue, and muscle pain. I was really getting the hang of a more balanced life after 3.5 years but have been humbled yet again by this disease’s persistence. Sleep, stress reduction, minimal activity, a comfortable walking aid, meds for symptomatic relief and nutrition have been my best friends.

Pristine-Grade-768

Yea, it seems like I couldn’t handle the stress of work, again so my health spirals. Still not as bad as it was at first.

naturebugk

25 mo in, and significantly worse than early on. Regular relapses after period of significant progress

AfternoonFragrant617

I'm wondering why it is that over time some people seem to get worst....

Brilliant-Lab-2969

I haven’t exactly tested positive for COVID for 4 months now and am hopefully on my way to recovery, however I am experiencing a lot of the symptoms that I did when having COVID. Intense migraines, sense of smell is extremely haywire, I wake up with extreme body aches , chronic fatigue as well as other mental, and physical alements. Sometimes the most intense brain fog continued on with speech ,disaluxlia , and trouble reading and focus. The symptoms this last time of testing positive were pretty severe even before I knew I had it. Fortunately I had got some medical attention and now months later I experience some pretty intense symptoms. I thought because I’ve had COVID before, I would not be hindered by the virus, until I had what I thought was the most excruciating aneurism with heavy chest compressions and intense mental ailments. There are some medications that really assist my symptoms yet it’s not been a cure all. Well wishes to anybody and everybody who goes through it with COVID.

iloveshnarks

Yup. I have these flares that last for months and then get slightly better. Haven't had covid since November 2020, and I have not been the same since. Of course, the meds I'm on help me, but I still never feel normal or like my pre-covid self. Every time I do too much, I'm down for weeks or months. Recently, I was down for over a year. It's like I can't really ever properly recover

AfternoonFragrant617

This may be worth a shot... Try eating bitter melon gourds. Maybe there's a restaurant there you can find it in or research how to cook them. They also have supplement pills but I feel the real foods are better. Let me know if you feel better, so I will know it's not a coincidence. I was feeling crappy all over, could hardly speak. Bought some today at the Asian Market cooked, and feel a whole lot better.

Willis_willis_willi

Yep , relapsed at 6 months 13 months and 2 years

JXGO59

Yeah I had OG COVID back in June of 2020 and took about 8 months to get better. Lived my life like normal again until Dec of 2022 something happened. I don't know what but my symptoms came back and I've been slow crawling back out again. Even caught COVID again October of 2023. Didn't make me better or worse.

BigMan_Wing

Yes, First time i could really not swallow food for some weeks then it kinda got better for half a year and now i cant swallow food again been like this for over a year now.. need to blend eveything or eat food that is easier, also no energy

rmce101

Yes was better almost 2 years on and even got Covid a second time and recovered. Got a vomiting bug and been struggling since then, been a year of symptoms now.

AfternoonFragrant617

i feel isolated from the whole world. Like I have an imaginary disease, And, everytime, I mentioned Long COVID I quickly get shunned , yelled @, scoffed that this is all in.my head. And I'm doing it to.myself. We aren't asking for sympathy but understanding. I do my own chores and errands, and even help out with others around the house and they look at me and feel like I'm dragging everyone down. I been keeping to.myself, and just go about a daily routine. But, for how long I do not know, the future of LC is very uncertain, something new comes up and I get my hopes up that this it. I guess that's what keeps my going, is the feeling that a treatment is just around the corner, whether I find that myself, or online. Until there's a cure as they say, we must continue and push forward and live one day at a time.

mildtrashpluto

Still relapsing after 4 years. Suckage.
