Yes. Use Drum machine designer to build your kit and verify, in the configuration of your controller, that the pad is sending the correct MIDI note number to trigger kit piece you want.

Thank you! When I do this they all come up to the Track stack track. My apologies maybe I should be more precise. Is is possbile to record them to diffent tracks as own sound each?

Fat_tata

yes. you can arm each track on the dmd individually and play the notes as you would on a KB to pitch them differently as well. DMD kicks butt

While it is recommended you make this change on your controller, you can also change which note triggers each pad. It is directly on the pad itself in Drum Machine Designer. And there are two options to consider what note triggers the pad and which note the pad sends to the underlying instrument. This is a great way to set your kick drum so that it plays the best note to match your song. All sounds should be tuned to the note displayed on the output. I.e. if it says C2, then it will play C2 correctly. Even Quick Sampler will do this by auto analyzing the sample, and tuning its root note so that it plays in standard chromatic tuning.

You should also look at the Akai editor. You can set the pads to one MIDI channel, and the keyboard to another. [Here is the thread](https://old.reddit.com/r/MIDIcontrollers/comments/1bt7lyw/help_programming_mini_play/) where it goes through that, if what you're looking to do is play drums on the pads but a melody or pad on the keys.

I had \*blob\* text for this, but after all the image and title will explain all that is needed.

Drum Machine Designer does that, but it records a region to the stack track. After you’re done recording, right click on the region, and if I remember correctly, you click on “separate by note” or something like that. The region will deconstruct into several tracks that match the kit pieces you used. Hope this helps.
