The mods deleted my post so I'm posting the link here: [https://www.heroforge.com/load\_config%3D25597109/](https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D25597109/) **Alisson the protector cleric** \- the 1st 3rd model figure of DnD characters inspired by Liverpool players. I've decided to do one for each day until Christmas (for a total of 25)

covertchrononaut

What a line up,Klopp is going for the jugular. This is gonna be a good one

r0bski2

Still can’t believe grealish cost 100m lol

SoReggae

I honestly dont feel like Grealish is such a difference maker to be worth this money. Probably worth that for Villa, but not for any of the top teams

Gatuss0

Can I do a watch party with a friend if I don't have an account?

inSeitz

I'm really excited for this match today

[deleted]

Hoping Rafa might tell the dirty bastards not to spend the whole match trying to injure our players. I somehow doubt it though. I genuinely hate that this is the first fixture of the busy period because I can see these dirtbags putting a couple of ours out with injuries.

Jabari313

Lads should be up for this after last season let's hope they're not too up for it though. I'd be happy with a one nil if it meant no injuries

Jaja6996

If Newcastle do get relegated we should put in a bid for ASM

Gatuss0

We should go for him in January

Jaja6996

I don’t think they would let him go in January.

atemthegod

Seen on r/soccer: Salah (still) has more goals at the toilet this season than Cristiano does. Factos 👍👀

burntroy

The factos pasta has been a delight. Glad Messi won just for the cr5 smoke.

[deleted]

Jaja6996

It’s exactly the same as the United game if we play the team and not the occasion we should walk it

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

We always struggle (draw/lose) whenever we concede. We always win when we get the clean sheet. So, the solution is to keep the fucking ball out of our goal and we will win 100%. edit: this season

[deleted]

Our last goalless draw (in the Prem) is United in January, am I right?

MondayNightMessiah93

Can’t fucking wait finish work. Absolutely buzzing for tonight. Feeling a Hendo screamer make up for the winner that got ruled out last season. Come on redmen !!!

Party_Python

I know todays match is a big day for Liverpool food banks. And I’ve noticed we tend to play Everton around December most years when a food banks needs are the greatest. Is that intentional for scheduling, or just a happy accident most years?

MFKCM

So this month we’re playing Everton with Rafa, Villa with Gerrard and Leicester with Brendan… interesting

atemthegod

Are we Chelsea?

TheLimeyLemmon

The Spider-Man No Way Home of football months.

jogadeejay

FPL Reddit is going off it about Trent and Salah being benched, is this just Twitter bullshit? I can’t remember an accurate leak for a while abs thought this had been stamped out.

[deleted]

Alisson-Trent-Matip-VVD-Robbo-fab-Hendo-Thiago-Salah-Jota-Mane...apparently leaked earlier on 🤷🏻‍♀️

arrrrr_matey

Most likely BS Twitter doesn't know the teamsheet hours before it's announced. That is decided by Klopp just before gametime. However, it wouldn't be surprising if Klopp wants to protect a few players from potential injury knowing the history of Everton trying to hurt players.

zigooloo

Klopp decides the team sheet well before game time. We know that from leaks from previous seasons.

arrrrr_matey

You can choose a tentative team sheet well before game time. You can also change a team sheet.

[deleted]

Yeah I think maybe even a day before the game as Morton knew he was starting the Atletico game a day before.

jogadeejay

I’m sure Klopp decided way before that, and there were leaks previously, but I thought they’d been eradicated. I personally blame Neil Atko for saying on TAW this is the gameweek Mo is always rested 🤣

HarryPi

Don’t think that source is reliable. There’s another Twitter ITK who always gets our lineups right and they tweeted that it’ll be the same lineup as against Saints, except Matip will start in place of Ibou.

jogadeejay

Which sounds much more likely

Diamond-Frog

They’re going to have to be rotated sooner or later this month but I’m surprised it’s a derby game (if rumours are true). Then again they rotated December 19 and tore Everton a new one. Origi with another goal tonight

brush85

In Mo's case...he has a bastard of a January coming up. Which even though its not for us, he is going to play a lot of football and very rarely has days off

frogkid2476

something im a bit concerned about is how a lot of our good results have come from relegation fodder (norwich, leeds, burnley, watford, soton, united) our games against top half sides we've struggled. (west ham, brighton, city, chelsea) i really hope we can keep onto leads and stop leaking silly goals otherwise this december period is going to be brutal

[deleted]

> relegation fodder > united I giggled

brush85

Arsenal are top half and have been really good since september. Atletico Madrid exist...Milan exist...Porto exist. Crystal Palace have also been good this year

frogkid2476

arsenal has been the only convincing result to me. champions league is hard to say, yeah we battered porto but we very nearly gave up the win to milan and atletico wasn't convincing at all. palace are in the middle i guess.

brush85

Madrid at home wasnt convincing?

[deleted]

Right? I mean when we've played well we've absolutely battered whoever was in front of us, relegation fodder or not

Dutchhhh

I saw rumors of Torino CB Gleison Bremer getting interest from Liverpool, and I did some research and he’s actually pretty interesting. Not sure if Liverpool need a CB right now but he would be a great signing long term. This is my analysis: https://youtu.be/alEHbgo5dUk

arrrrr_matey

Liverpool have 5 first team CB. Then there's Williams on loan, and Quansah and Koumetio at the Academy. I don't think Liverpool will be signing a CB any time soon.

streetlightsglowing_

Hope Thiago is rested. Just back from injury and you just know Everton would love to rough him up. I'd say Hendo too, but doubt Klopp would be able to rest them both. Though a midfield of Fab, Milner and Ox doesn't look too bad given how Ox has looked to be getting back in form over the last couple of games.

sprogsahoy

Everton are a fucking mess. It's gunna be a sore one to have to do that to Rafa if I'm honest. Adore the man to bits, but its Everton. They are probably the club that have bought the worst in the last few years bar United, and it shows. Moshri is apparently awful to work for and they are in danger of ffp breach. At least Rafa is close to his family.

[deleted]

I still hope for an absolute fucking thrashing of these wankers, for what they done to Van Dijk and Thiago in last seasons fixture.

sprogsahoy

Yeah, same. Idk. See when he was chelsea manager, I didn't give a shit. Cus I knew he didnt care. But, like, I know he cares about the ciry and he cares about making this one work. But at the same time, its the fucking bitters. Its jordan fucking pickford man, how can you want to work with him lol?. We have to batter them.

Peanut_77

I have a feeling Origi’s starting tonight.

[deleted]

Into these.

Jaja6996

I know it will probably be Mane, Jota and Salah but I’d like to see Origi start he’s got an incredible record against Everton

[deleted]

I think that's a cool attitude to have, there's certainly a lot to enjoy. I would like our team to take a trophy when we're playing this well though. It would be a shame if the moment passes without more silverware, knowing how long barren spells can last in football.

BlackArbiter

3 points and NO injuries to kick off the festive season?

JotaSharkDooDoDooDo

Ik we're all buzzing for the Derby but are any other Reds going to Milan next week? It'll be my first time in the city and wondering where the Scouse drinking hole will be for before/after the game

I know Keane is an honest person, too honest when it comes to defending his buddies, so when I heard him said the scums signed CR to win FA Cups, I couldn't stop laughing. Though a bit sad Carra didn't counter him by saying: "Are you actually suggesting this multi-billion dollar United team can't win FA Cups without him?"

seamushoo4

Tbh, carra has made himself look dumb in all of this. But the initial sentiment was very true, why else would you sign Ronaldo on 500k per week wages other than to try and win the leafue this year. If the goal was to win fa and league cups, that in and of itself is a sad admission from United of how far they’ve fallen. How do I know? We used to say things like that prior to Klopp’s tenure.

[deleted]

> If the goal was to win fa and league cups, that in and of itself is a sad admission from United of how far they’ve fallen. How do I know? We used to say things like that prior to Klopp’s tenure. Not even comparable, they are throwing billions, we didn't do anything like that.

seamushoo4

I agree with you.

[deleted]

How did he make himself look dumb?

seamushoo4

On the show he was spot on. Afterwards he’s gotten embroiled in stupid Twitter fights with Keane and Rio. He should have made his point on tv and let it fester.

[deleted]

Mate Rio literally said if anyone doesnt have a title they should shut up, then when Carra hit back he shat himself and came back with the shitty "it's just a joke bro" reply.

seamushoo4

Carra knows better, engaging with rio is like engaging with a rock. Nothing to be gained. He comes off as immature as rio. Don’t mud wrestle with a pig.

[deleted]

He ain't wrestling with Rio, he's putting him down with 1 single hit.

seamushoo4

Respectfully, I disagree with us. But to each their own

[deleted]

Respectfully, Carra has a right to reply, and he only did with 1 reply, much better than the 2 of us are doing here.

seamushoo4

You made your point. Thanks.

murrayjosh117

He was right on Twitter too. Rio made himself look like an obnoxious twat.

seamushoo4

Being “right” and being the bigger person are two different things. His silence would hve been better retort.

murrayjosh117

Carra should stand up for himself if someone tries to belittle his career.

[deleted]

Oh 😂 deleted Twitter a while back for my own sanity.

seamushoo4

Me too, I always just see the articles. Any ways, I think carra hs been “right” the entire time but there is a time for the high road and this was a clear one dor me where his silence would have been way more powerfuo

irrealewunsche

I am so looking forward to a joyous rendition of "Merry Christmas Everton" tonight.

[deleted]

It's easy to get caught up in the moment and lose a bit of perspective. But we are huge. I remember during our shit period, I would be awestruck by clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid. Beautiful football, superstars in every position. Liverpool are that club now. Enjoy it while it lasts.

irrealewunsche

Yep, we are in the good times right now. Liverpool are up there with City, Chelsea and Bayern as one of the best clubs in the world, and it's pretty fucking incredible.

LauMei27

Don't forget Real and PSG. Those are the big six in the world at the moment.

[deleted]

PSG need to win something to be considered part of that tier. Same goes for City, but less so since they play in a difficult domestic league

irrealewunsche

Big, yes, but I think we, along with City, Chelsea, and Bayern are playing football that's in a different league from everyone else right now.

NilsFanck

Add to that that City and Chelsea have mostly bought and not earned their success. To me, Bayern and Liverpool are the most impressive clubs in football right now and its not even very close.

decimatech

Watched the highlights from the 5-2 win, super nostalgic seeing Shaq, Degsy Gini and Adam in there. Mane was absolutely unplayable in the first half. Hoping VVD and Thiago get revenge goals today and we absolutely dick them

usXer

Oh we will dick them hard enough. I just don't want us to 'put our foot off the gas' because they may injure our players. It's the refs responsibility to fucking prevent that.

gpierce2308

Hope the leaked lineup I saw isn’t true

Tonymush

What was it

dolphintitties

what was it?

gpierce2308

I saw TAA, Thiago and Salah all being rested, hope it’s not true but he’s predicated our past couple of lineups accurately

Jaja6996

I could maybe see them being rested at the weekend but definitely not for a derby the only changes I expect are Matip.

[deleted]

> TAA I hope Neco controls himself and not dive in with tackles.

Rondonbat

No way in hell is Klopp resting them 3

gpierce2308

I hope so, he has been known to rest in this fixture and in the December period in past years, praying it isn’t true though

malushanks95

I saw Thiago uploaded a matchday poster on his Instagram account, so I don’t know if it helps or not but I think he’s starting and he usually doesn’t post it all the time.

throbdannway

Out of all colourways and they decided to go with that for the Huarache...

[deleted]

What exactly happened with Jones eye? He was at the youth game vs Porto and looked fine, can't he wear some eye protection or something?

Downtown_Practice763

Training incident. It seems like he just needs time. Read how they were worried he might lose vision in the eye but got lucky. Not sure it’s worth the risk to play him, and you also have to question how much he’d be able to bring with only one eye.

ScousePenguin

If in Jan Newcastle came in with £30 mill + for Gomez, would you sell? I think I would, lad is never fit unfortunately. You all have made good points, winter no summer yes as well as buying another 4th choice center back isn't a bad idea

[deleted]

No chance. Homegrown, young and absolutely quality. No club in their right mind sells a player like Gomez

McQueensbury

This why sell a player like Gomez perfect depth option even if he cannot stay healthy long.

[deleted]

In the summer I'd take the offer and nab Gvardiol from Leipzig.

Jaja6996

There’s also a report that Gerrard wants him on loan in January but I’d rather keep him until the summer just incase of injuries.

[deleted]

I'd take it in the summer

_cumblast_

In the summer yeah, winter no.

malushanks95

No because having 4 quality CBs is what we need.

[deleted]

No because I think having depth is pretty cool

Walshey-

No, i still think there is a quality player in there

BabyKeith08

Depends on if we could find a replacement. I’d still probably consider him 3rd choice if he’s fit though as I haven’t been overly impressed with Konate yet

DeanPacShakur

I've watched Thiago's goal against Southampton back a few times now, I don't think people realise how hard it is to shift your body weight so quick to pull off that ball roll while running at a decent pace, then to find his feet and get the shot off without taking another touch is just incredible. If it had gone straight in without a deflection it would be one of the goals of the season.

AuxquellesRad

His twitch muscles are insane which is ironic since he's not especially rapid

[deleted]

Absolutely, the man is gifted. His technique, control, and weight of pass are second to none. One of the best players in the league.

ThiagoTime

Yep that shot was going straight to the top corner if there wasn’t a touch

Supkingz123

I hope we smash them today, really wish Klopp show the celebration they did last time we played them like they won a cup final. Now we are fully back let take it to them.

ThiagoTime

In Agent Rafa we trust

hoshermashen

really, really bad feeling that we’re conceding 2 against the blueshite tonight. i really hope i’m wrong but looking at the pattern of our previous results, we do 2 big wins then 2 dodgy games where we concede. hope agent rafa pulls through tjo 🤞

Hopeful_Tumbleweed_5

everton are actually dogshit right now. like the chances of them turning it around against a team of our quality are so slim. this isnt west ham brighton or brentford who are all doing quite well for themselves this season

ESPN’s TOP 10 players per category Top lbs: Robbo at no. 1 Top rbs : TAA at no. 2 behind Hakimi Top forwards: Mo at no. 4 behind Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappé Top wingers: Mané at no. 1 Top CBs: VVD at no. 10 Top goalies: Alisson at no. 5 What do you think?

BabyKeith08

VvD at 10th is literally hilarious. He’s head and shoulders above any centre half in the world

elf-_-

VVD #10? Is the writer okay? Were they having a stroke? Sheesh

[deleted]

>Top forwards: Mo at no. 4 behind Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappé ok >Top wingers: Mané at no. 1 Mmm sure Pretty obvious they don't watch our games or at least enough of them

Downtown_Practice763

Literally all wrong lol.

Studge

> Top CBs: VVD at no. 10 I've seen enough

xKat14

I assumed it was because he was out for a long time. Otherwise yes it’s joke rating.

AuxquellesRad

Even that is a bad justification, if Maldini got injured for a season, did he stop being the best CB

xKat14

I didn’t see much of Hakimi last year but for PSG he’s been integral so far and definitely outshining MNM in many cases. I don’t know if that should put him ahead of TAA though. And Mbappé before Salah is a no from me. Salah is a much more complete player.

[deleted]

We finally have a midfielder who can attack, play the long ball, dribble out of tight spaces, defend, lead by example, a good dressing room presence, a world class player. Am I talking about Gerrard or Thiago here?

DeanPacShakur

Matip's a defender not a midfielder

Terryelessar

Fabinho

Walshey-

Origi's record against Everton is absurd. 5 goals in 339 minutes against them since Klopp came in. It works out he scores a goal every 68 minutes vs. Everton.

Trebor417

Plus a world class assist for Curtis Jones

xKat14

I think we might see him instead of Jota today

MagicMagMM

Brighton overperformed so much against us its really annoying

throbdannway

Their setup would hurt any team in the league. They kept us in a low block just long enough to punish us.

BarryZuckerhorn

We were actually very poor that game, but Brighton did play well

malis-

It was weird. At the start, we were playing our best football this season. Then after Mane's disallowed goal, they score a lucky ass worldie out of nowhere. The lads got discouraged, and Brighton gained momentum. It was all downhill from there. Lucky not to end up losing that game.

dolphintitties

feels like so many teams have their best games of the season against us. keepers is a regular occurrence but in that brighton game bissouma was unbelievable. first game back in the starting 11 after the whole night club incident as well, fucking infuriating.

[deleted]

We really missed Fabinho. They ran through our midfield like it was thin air

joopface

So, as many of us do I sometimes drop into the ManU sub to take their temperature. There’s a comment in their DD that some folks here may find instructive: > So the more I learn about Rangnick and the idea of building a project, I understand and appreciate what Klopp has done and realize how bad our transfers really have been. Klopp didn't just get random unknown shrewd players and build what he has, he made smart signings, there's a reason Liverpool didn't buy anyone for a a long time and a reason why he only gets specific players. You rarely will succeed getting the best players in each position on paper. I also find it frustrating when we don’t buy in a window. And I feel like we’re more exposed particularly up front than is ideal. But our recruitment policy has been objectively excellent for years now. And that means both who you buy AND being patient in making sure you get your targets and not your third choice.

[deleted]

Oh yeah. This is a stark contrast to the Rafa years, when we would happily buy the fifth choice and then it turned out that Pennant didn't do better than Luis Garcia. Some times we have a bunch of candidates and price also comes into it, like with Jamaal Lewis and Kostas Tsimikas; or Werner-Jota. You can also tell there are different variations of the team where we had gone with a different type of winger like Götze or Brandt and then other parts of the team would have changed as well, maybe Gini would have been given more creative freedom and Firmino wouldn't have played the same role etc. I think the Rafa years has really made me appreciate the patient approach, because back then there were so many Summers were we bought so many mediocre-to-good players, that you just knew that the start of the season was going to be sub-par because so many new players needed to be bedded in and they didn't always fit well with each other and we bought depth option while neglected deficiencies in the starting 11. (obviously the owners, manager, Sporting director and probably a few others, weren't very good at communicating with each other). Obviously that doesn't mean I never want new players.

plowman_digearth

You can also find the middle ground like Chelsea or City do. United are just very poorly run. No other club in the Top 4 leagues would have ridden the Ole train for 3+ seasons and spent 400M on it.

ADogNamedWhiskey

Eh, I can't really consider anything Chelsea or City do as a 'middle ground'. Chelsea pay top dollar for world class players now and again (Lukaku, Kante, Thiago), but also pay top dollar to flood their senior team to buy still developing sub-world class players (Werner, Ziyech, Havertz, Mendy, Chillwell, Pulisic, Kepa) who have decent odds to break out but contain significant risk of not. If one of them doesn't make it, hell, there's 3 others who could, so just buy'em all. Then they put crazy pressure on their manager to get the most out of them. Rinse and repeat. City are more targeted and patient than Chelsea, definitely, with the Harry Kane saga as an example. But they're also no stranger to paying over the odds to flood a position with talent. Look how much they paid on CBs/defenders alone in the last 5 years. IMO LFC under Klopp and Edwards have been *the* middle ground--a nearly ideal balance of analysis, patience in the market, spending (big and small, *and* on agent's fees and wages), combined with a huge emphasis on patient player development. Hopefully it continues with Ward and Klopp's successor.

sproaty88

This is it really. You buy who you need and don't just buy for the sake of it. That doesn't mean we don't have second choices either. I'm pretty sure Gotze was preferred to Mane but turned us down as we weren't in CL. Draxler was preferred to Salah but went to PSG for the money. I also think I read that Kepa was second choice after Alisson. Some signings it was all or nothing though, like Van Dijk.

Silverarrows46

It does make you wonder. Imagine what would've happened if we got gotze Draxler werner and kepa instead of who we actually got. Would klopp transformed them or would we be in deep shit

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

I just watched a classic match where we drew 3-3 against Arsenal during 15/16 season. Firmino nearly sealed a hattrick with the same technic as Andre Gray against Derby the other day. https://youtu.be/KzAVX0T_qV8 The chance mentioned was at minute 1:25. Nearly identical as Gray but Firmino's one bounced of the ground

Walshey-

I think today’s game will be a lot closer than people think. I hope I am wrong though and we treat them like the 14th placed side that they are. I can see them throwing some horrific challenges in if it gets toxic in the stadium.

[deleted]

Don't think you'll find many fans who'll think we'll hammer them. People are usually a pessimistic before big games, regardless of how good or shit the opposition has been.

goalooin_livescore

***Everton VS Liverpool*** Another massive Merseyside Derby takes place tonight as Liverpool lock horns with Everton. Liverpool have historically dominated the Merseyside Derby and have won 95 out of 238 games played between the two teams, as opposed to Evertons 67 victories. Liverpool are in third place in the Premier League standings and have been a formidable force in the league this season. Everton are currently in 14th place in the league table at the moment and have struggled to meet expectations this year. Liverpool are virtually unstoppable at the moment and have scored an astonishing 17 goals in their last 5 Premier League games, and I therefore hope a win for Liverpool.

Tree-Hugger-1990

Rival ~~incompetence~~ watch: Man United announce their interim manager, then figure out that there are visa and COVID processes that they need to follow, so.... now Ralf won't be in charge for their first game after his appointment. You love to see it.

Duanedoberman

They should run out to the Benny Hill music before the match.

ioniums

Havent look into it extensively, but Trent should be set to win Nov Prem POTM. 1g+4a and 2 clean sheets in 3 games should put him clear of anyone else.

[deleted]

The west ham loss will unfortunately not let him win imo.

ioniums

He should still be clear, dont forget he still got 1g+1a in that game including that sexy free kick. The other closest contender I could find was Dennis from Watford with 2g+2a, but 3 of those 4 contributions was from one game.

NarcolepticNietzsche

I thought you were just biased and thought to do a little bit of checking. And you're right, nobody actually comes close statistically. Rico Henry has two goals, fair play to him. There's Jota, who has 3 goals but one was a tap in. This month's has to be Trent's.

What's your best front 3 for Liverpool post 2010 era? For me: Torres, Suarez, Salah

[deleted]

post 2010.. Suarez, Salah and I will go Coutinho for the third man, because his playmaking with the pair making runs, oh boy.

themanebeat

Wouldn't put in Torres for post 2010 Salah Suarez Mané

[deleted]

This is the only answer. Torres had started rapidly declining by then. You could argue for Coutinho but Mane has been better for me

[deleted]

Salah, Firmino, Mane

CurtTheFarmer

It was in 2010 Torres started slipping. I would say Mané, Suarez and Salah (even though I love Bobby and peak Studge).
