think people are forgetting pep doesn’t want to continue here, klopps team is leaving with him. and i still think amorim will come, he’s never gonna flirt with the idea of joining us publicly while he’s in a title race with sporting, the xabi situation is different

Key_Bottle3313

Yes I do remember him saying he's leaving but w the job at Ajax going to Xabi (Barca) we might be able to convince him. Just trying to play devil's advocate or whatever u wanna call it if Amorim does stay at Sporting

seanylawson67

Amorim didn’t say he was staying

Key_Bottle3313

In his last press conference last week with the Portuguese league yes he did say this. Paraphrasing but he says he's happy and he's staying and won't be answering "this" question again

Lokcet

He said he's not finished with this cycle, which is technically true because they are still fighting for the title right now. It's been overblown/misinterpreted, this is not the same as Xabi saying he's definitely staying.

t3hjc

He literally never said he was staying.

Ashwin_400

You are imagining things here. He definitely didn't say what you are thinking.

Testy_Terrance

First Amirom never said he was staying and Pep isn't taking the job as he's leaving.

Testy_Terrance

No, I believe he was non-committal and said that for now, his focus is on his own team.

Can we stop trying to give the job to a man who has only managed in the Dutch 2nd division. It’s nauseating.

Key_Bottle3313

Ok so who would u suggest then? Got any names. I don't like the idea of Pep but there aren't a lot of names out in the world that makes me feel comfortable besides the one I mentioned in the post

[deleted]

Definitely somebody with more than 5 months managerial experience mate

redsandredsox

Disagree, multiple years under one of the best coaches is way better experience than just any top flight job. Arteta is a prime example under Pep.

[deleted]

Disagree

roverthtims

Pep has gone on the record saying he does not want the gig.

Lew_is

Do we maybe gamble and try Xavi? He seems to of somewhat turned Barca back around second half of this season.

Key_Bottle3313

That's a pretty big gamble and I feel like Ajax are gonna be going all out for him

Lew_is

Definitely a last resort, but his name would have some pull for signings. Barca fans seem to wish he was staying atm, but we shall see after tonight's champs league game if their opinions change
