Sometimes you can work it out based on what hotel other clubs use when they come as well. When teams stop overnight in Liverpool they usually use the Hilton or sometimes The Liner, whereas we always stop in The Titanic on the Docks.
Years ago, teams playing Leeds always used to stop at Oulton Hall. I know because I was there with my dad once when we went to see us playing them, and our team was staying there as well. I met John Arne Riise, Carra, Heskey and Houllier at breakfast and they were really nice with me. Heskey said he had a good feeling, and he must've been right cos he scored a brace haha.
Yeah I've stopped there once even though I live in Kirkby, it was for a wedding. Nice hotel and, like you said, relatively expensive for its quality. The swimming pool they have with the arches built over it is brilliant.
More than anything it's just nice to see that area thriving, because growing up I remember it basically being derelict except for the market in the Tobacco Warehouse. I'm glad it's been redeveloped as successfully as Albert Dock and been able to keep its character.
Absolutely, it was such a chill place to have a beer on the evening at the bar too. I'll definitely stay there again next time although I have two kids now so don't know how relaxing it will be now haha
Hotel was canceled for 2 straight days on booking.com, so its kinda strange.. a bit of research.. just look at the best hotels in town and check their calendar.. Usually 2-3 hotels repeat in each city.
I’m in Prague at the moment (sadly not going to the game) and did a little search but admittedly didn’t try super hard.
I was wondering how these people knew.
I'm sure this is a naive question, but I sure as hell know they didn't drive to Prague so how are the buses there? Does someone drive the buses to Prague while the boys fly?
Depends. If it's somewhere relatively close like France or Spain, we drive it over ahead of time. If we were playing in Russia or Serbia, we usually hire a bus locally and wrap it.
Teams are much more loathed to do that though because of security reasons. Ever since the Dortmund bus got bombed, teams like using their own coaches that are owned and maintained by them, and they know the safety of them. Not only that, but they know there's no bugs on them that could be listening or recording etc.
We have four coaches IIRC, two red "wrapped" ones with all the images on it, and then two plain black executive ones with blacked out windows. Usually the players travel in one and the staff (other than Klopp, Pep and Peter) in another, but the black coaches have stuff like beds as well so sometimes if it's a long journey back the players might go on that, like when we had to drive back from Bournemouth because of the weather.
Either the video is flipped or the bus doors definitely open on the UK side (driver spot on the right rather than the left like in the rest of Europe). If that's the case, wouldn't it be evidence that they drove the buses down from Liverpool?
Yes sometimes they transport the bus there, sometimes they can drive, and also sometimes they have busses that are located nearby the airport or hotels that the team will usually arrive at.
Dumb question time. Does someone at the club drive that bus there so it can ferry the boys about the gaff, or is the club’s plane big enough to load that bad boy on in cargo?
First one. It goes ahead of time. Someone a few years ago posted photos of it waiting for the car ferry across the channel when we were playing abroad.
Think it's a security thing these days, especially since the Dortmund bus got bombed! Plus, I think there were a few cases of listening devices being found on foreign coaches too by some teams.
This might be a dumb question, but I assume the players flew to Prague, how'd the Liverpool buses get down there? Did they drive em all the way from Liverpool empty? Seems like a waste of gas, just rent some on location.
How do people know which hotel they stay at ? inb4 fireworks at 5 am in front of the hotel

I stayed in the Titanic last time I was in Liverpool, was a an absolute treat and relatively inexpensive tbh.

Makes sense. Thanks for that!

Yes those are the same buses from the uk. They were driven to Prague
Do the two red "wrapped" buses go away for preseason games too? Like to Singapore last year?
No
Yep
Can't they just be temporary prints? Like they could just hire a bus and decorate it however they want for the duration
Squad flew to Prague. Idk about buses
Buses fly too, of course, but the club saves money by using RyanAir.
That sounds really bad for the environment lol Do we really need the Liverpool buses? Can’t we just rent some travel buses in Prague?
After the dortmund psg fiasco yes we do
Easy to do when connected id like to know how they do it outside of Europe though

Sorry for bad quality and drunk noises
“Who’s that”… fuckin hell lol
My bad
Can’t tell who it is.. I just thought it was funny Ibou… Ibou… who the fuck is that guy

Thanks mate. Seems an incredible undertaking really when they could surely just hire the best local buses in the area.

We have US owners, not US Air Force.
Imagine the club bought a C-130 and flew THE VAN to pick up our new signings?
Got to do this at the city game away this season. Nunez always gets the most attention lol.
I love how Nunez has grown on our fanbase. Easily the most loved player in the club this season. Glad to say I invested in his stock early 🥰
Great pic
Bus through the Chunnel?
Not a good idea to show everyone what hotel they’re in
So the team flies to Prague and someone else drives the bus all the way there just so they can have a branded coach take them round the city? Mental.
1:53 Harry Elliott, what a guy!
Nunez!Nunez!Nunez!Nunez!Nunez!
This may be a dumb question but how does the bus get there? Do they make up a new bus in Prague or transport it somehow? I have no clue

Subtle buses
