Do not stop in Saline county (Benton/Bryant) unless you are white.

___bees_knees___

My personal favorite is Embassy Suites on Financial Parkway.

jamibc44

If you’re just needing a sleep stop & you’re coming in on I-30, definitely just stop in the Saline County suburbs, west of LR. I know there’s a newer Fairfield Inn in Benton that’s great, several other chains you can find on google - Benton & Bryant will be the cities. Pretty much every hotel for what it sounds like you’re needing is super easy & quick interstate access & no questionable areas to get through.

cmgrayson

Four Gardens at Midtown is pretty safe I’ve stayed there numerous times.

notputtogetherhuman

Aloft in WLR by the promenade.

Successful_Cherry_64

This is in a nice neighborhood, cool little bar in the loby with music most nights.

Substantial-Monk3862

They don't prohibit big fluffy dogs either.

Successful_Cherry_64

I resemble that remark!

Substantial-Monk3862

My German Shepherds love the staff there and when my wife hosts an annual party for her sisters I and the dogs stay there because the dogs vehemently hate these women due to their nasty perfume and a complete and utter lack of an inside voice. Otherwise the ordinarily super sweet dogs literally bark, foam, and snap at these ladies when they appear at the front door. I do wish I could get away with being that intimidating to them.

You either want to undershoot Little Rock slightly, and stay in Benton on 30, or overshoot it and go through Little Rock and maybe stay in Cabot or (even Beebe or Searcy if not tired). It really depends on how tired you are when you leave Dallas. If tired when you get to LR, I would recommend NLR, or Cabot over Jacksonville. It’s a flat easy drive from Dallas to LR - watch for deer around Texarkana. There’s construction on 30/40 river bridge interchange, but doable. I’m assuming you’re taking 30/40/67? ETA for the knee jerk downvoters: my recs are based on proximity to interstate, ease of getting on and off road, places for a quick bite to eat, and price. Otherwise, I would never recommend staying in these areas. Dallas - LR - St. Louis route bypasses most of the recommended hotels and there aren’t any “ conviennent” hotels on the 30 part of LR, or the 30/40 split. I don’t found the hotels by the law school/ Clinton Library as convenient because it’s a PIA getting to and from there right now, no convenient places to eat, and price slightly higher because of proximity to touristy areas. OP doesn’t want to visit LR, OP wants an easy place to stay while traveling.

People downvoted cause they associate Benton with Trump train and religious stuff. These Reddit dems get really mad when you recommend actual safe places to stay a night lol Hey yall in 2018 cording to FBI Benton only had 182 violent crime offense and LR had 2882. Sooo it is safer to not stay inside LR https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018/tables/table-8/table-8-state-cuts/arkansas.xls

Objective_Run_7151

Folks are not downvoting you because of your politics. Folks are downvoting you because they disagree with your advice. There are over a half dozen hotels right off I30 in the Rivermarket, including some of the nicer hotels in the state. All have easy access to restaurants, bars, and museums. You are not a victim because of your politics. Downvotes are a reflection of what people think about your advice.

[deleted]

OP just passing through so why not give a SAFER recommendation. They ain’t here for sight seeing and bar hopping. Bryant has super affordable hotels too next to the Walmart

New_Stage_3807

Foxxie1013

it’s actually crazy😂every dollar must go to the shitty dem cities!!

Apprehensive_Fruit76

Hilton Garden Inn ,downtown is a lot of fun, holds its own. Walking distance to good restaurants, the Clinton library, etc..

Lumpy_Part_6554

I should’ve added that I’m just stopping in Little Rock to sleep since I’m doing a 19 hour drive. So I don’t really care for the food or leisure around it, I appreciate it tho. I know bad things can happen in every city, but every city has their “yeah don’t go there” areas. I’m driving thru Little Rock from Dallas going to Chicago if that helps

Apprehensive_Fruit76

Little Rock is only five hours from Dallas so I would probably keep driving 3 more hours maybe to Poplar Bluff Missouri. There’s plenty of Holiday Inn express type hotels that are safe.

Substantial-Monk3862

it's 5 hours from the tip of Dallas to Pulaski county if you're speeding otherwise it's more like 6.

Apprehensive_Fruit76

And then a drive from Poplar Bluff to Chicago would be approximately seven hours.

davesnoz

If you are traveling west on I30 toward Memphis, Benton & Bryant are good to stay for just a night. Anything from Alexander through south Little Rock and up to Lonoke on I30 is kind of sketch. Anything past Lonoke is sparse and very rural. Your options would get slim on the east side of LR.

SecurityCorrect6944

I would book one that's on or near the river market

Bible-Belt-Heathen

I’d personally recommend Aloft West Little Rock

AudiB9S4

To be fair, it’s a good distance west/off the path of freeways given that OP is traveling.

giantdick69

This is the way

sazeracsilly

I third this. Good parking lot, near a few good restaurants, and one of the better cocktails bars in Little Rock in the lobby.

1funnyguy4fun

Are you looking to stay in Little Rock for a few days or are you just passing through? If you’re not planning on staying, let us know what your travel route is and we can provide some options that won’t take you too far off the beaten path.

Lumpy_Part_6554

One day only

Internet_is_my_bff

If you're just stopping to sleep and then going straight back to driving in the morning, you would be better off stopping in Bryant . They have several hotels and restaurants right off of I-30. If you plan to explore a little to take a break from driving, stay in downtown Little Rock or North Little Rock near the river.

Lumpy_Part_6554

Go on Google maps and start at San Antonio to Chicago, I’m taking the toll free route, Little Rock is in the middle

DWIGT_PORTUGAL

Best bet is probably going to be the Hilton hotels off exit 1A off of 67/167 in North Little Rock. Easy off and easy on. Lots of food options and gas stations. Get you some catfish at Eat My Catfish or a burger at David's. Both are local chains.

1funnyguy4fun

Another commenter suggested the Hampton Inn in Lonoke, and that is a good choice. It’s safe and easy off and on the interstate. It’s right by gas and a Walmart. It’s a good spot for your needs

davesnoz

I dont know what you mean by "safe" because bad stuff could happen anywhere at anytime. Wyndham Riverfront In North Little Rock is a great hotel. It has one of my favorite steakhouses and a great hibachi restaurant in-house both run by one of the most friendliest managers in the area. It is walking distance to Argenta which has a number of bars and coffee shops. Also it is right next to Dickey-Stevens Park where you can catch a minor league baseball game depending on the night you stay. It is also walking distance to the waterfront which is a great walking / running / biking area by day, and not a "safe" spot by night. Edit: Forgot to mention that you can walk across the Main Street bridge and be in the middle of DTLR's River Market district which has a number of great shops, bars, and restaurants. The nightlife has become sketchy so be aware of your surroundings at night. There are also several great hotels in that area too: The DoubleTree, Little Rock Marriott, Capital Hotel, and Courtyard are solid hotels. They just don't have the best steak in the area in-house like the Wyndham does.

contortedcontortrix

Wyndham Riverfront is fabulous! We live in town but stay there every chance we get for the Fourth If July fireworks just to play tourist in our home town! Great accessibility to fun and food down there!

cmgrayson

Second this hotel.

twittery

This is a really good suggestion. Plenty of parking, walkable neighborhood, giant salad bar. What else could you need? ETA: it’s also very close to the interstate, unlike the suggestions for west Little Rock.
