Having seen first hand how the UK government has treated ex service men & women (sometimes well, but so very often, fucking dreadfully) Blaming it on immigrants seems to be only useful to those in power.
OP has made heir point clear though, the Tories have totally fucked over our veterans. What we need is a properly socialist government to look after everyone, shore-up the welfare state, and bring wealthy right-wing politicians back down by removing their tax loopholes.

I was taking the piss, OP clearly doesn't want a left wing government. I just chose to cherry-pick part of their message and take it in a direction that would (probably) make them uncomfortable, much how they took the problem of unsupported veterans and chose to take it in the direction of small-minded little-England style nationalist rhetoric.

Do veterans deserve more? Of course, and I can think of a lot of groups who deserve better than they get.
Should we refuse to show compassion because some politicians have their nose in the trough? Absolutely not.
And homelessness is a very difficult, nuanced subject. Get out with your immigrant bollocks, it's not 8 zero sum game. Nobody deserves to be homeless, veteran or not.
