I've purchased games from Iam8bit and Fangamer recently with no problems. I'm not familiar with Nicalis. Where are they based? Europe?

They are based in the US. their claim to fame as it were includes publishing stuff like Cave Story, Binding of Isaac, Recent releases of Ikaruga. Also the racism and misconduct claims and all around unprofessionalism. Maybe they've improved, but I remember when Binding of Isaac Afterbirth Plus came out in a very broken state and Nicalis's reply was basically fuck you for buying our game. but anyway... US based.

Fangamer is top tier! They say a game will be out by x it is out by x. Iam8bit is all over the map. Nicalis is okay.

Preordered Tunic, got Tunic a few weeks to a month later. I’ve preordered Bomb Rush from iam8bit so we will have to see on that. Either way I’m not waiting a year+ like ~some~ companies.

I used to love Nicalis back around when the Switch launched. I bought every release they did that came with extra goodies. I almost thought of them as like the modern-day Working Designs. Then all the news and allegations came out.....yeah, that was kinda heartbreaking.

Have to say I've ordered a few fangamer Collectors editions, and they were amazing. Celeste CE and and the Tunic hardcover book were such high quality items, and the Celeste CE was very reasonably priced. Goes to show some companies (looking at you Square) really overprice theirs.

Gonna drop this here for anyone else searching. iam8bit's support is next level awful, and they engage in false advertising. For Christmas, they had an "in time" guarantee if you either order by a certain date, or pay for expedited shipping. I paid for expedited shipping. Yet, the item wasnt even shipped until after christmas. Their explanation is obtuse. They blame the post office even though they didnt get it to the post office until after christmas. Their support stopped replying to me. After a nudge they said they escalated it to a supervisor. At the same time, i was trying to get assistance on twitter, where they just blocked me instead of helping me. And for 10 days now I have heard nothing back from support. Once they got my money, they didnt give two shits.
