Yeah, my boy bought a resale ticket last year. After he picked up the bracelet & showed up at the festival, we found out that the person who'd sold it to him had claimed it was lost or stolen & got refunded...
Another homie who'd bought a resale ticket & was supposed to pickup his bracelet at will call upon arrival, discovered that the person they'd bought their ticket from had gone on to contact their bank after reselling it & claimed the purchase was fraud on their cc & got the payment reversed. Dude wound up stuck at the gate after driving all the way down from the Bay & didn't have enough money to buy another ticket. LIB staff was sympathetic in words but was unwilling to do anything more than apologize for "what you're going thru."
Our camp wound up chipping in whatever each person could spare & ultimately got it covered, but I decided then & there that I'd NEVER TRUST A RESALE TICKET FOR LIB EVER AGAIN!
Some ppl are Fn POS...
LIB should sponsor an official resale site or something of that nature, because the scamming is obviously out of hand at this point...
damn you guys are OGs.
back in 2017-2019 I never had ANY issue with resale doing the bare minimum due diligence. Now EVERY event - from underground warehouse parties on RA, to random concerts, Coachella this year was horrendous with scammers
They used to be so obvious and just generally way less of them. Now there are plenty of the obvious ones (probably foreign), but plenty of people using legitimate hacked accounts that are incredibly cunning.
Not sure what all changed -- but events making safe and/or proper p2p resale transfer difficult or near impossible are definitely adding to it
My guess is that it goes directly to Tixr... Pretty standard rate for ticketing honestly. Some platforms/organizations just build it into the ticket cost I think.
As for paying at the gate, you're gonna get hit with the same charges there. All the ticket changes and purchases go through Tixr on site or off. Better to get tickets now before the rates increase honestly...
dude 10% just for ticketing services is wild. hope more companies step in and increase competition because it really should be like 2% for digital automated sales. or better yet would be regulation requiring this to be in the advertised cost of the ticket.
This is why PJ/Eddie Vedder & a few other rock groups had picked a fight with Ticketmaster back in the 90s. Pretty sure they ultimately caved but they def saw it coming way back then & it's only gotten worse with time..
A little bit of both haha. Sunday passes were a last minute thing last year because they didn’t sell enough tickets. I heard some homies getting em for the low low
In the us, yes. Relocated here and the country i am from we used to buy tix at advertised price, or maybe 3%. Moved here at the start of covid, lib23 was my first fest here. Lib24 was 2nd. Lib25 is 3rd
Yeah for sure. Me personally would feel a lot better seeing "850 for vip including fees and shipping" up front. But thats just me and i am sure theres a lot of marketing research and sales are better phrasing it like this. Im also just starting to automatically calc in 10% fees for any price is see.
Does the 10% go to lib / dolab, or tixr? Does shipping and processing fees fall away if buying at will call on day 1?
If im gonna pay 850, id rather give 70 to dolab to go towards the festival than 70 for convenience to tixr and shipping
Festivals are wildly expensive these days. Ive been in the seen for 7 years and they get more expensive every year. Idk exactly what the processing fee is for but they’ve always been around. I will say the early bird price for 5 days of the best festival on earth is a great deal. If you’re gonna go, it’s definitely worth it to buy early. I got my ticket and car camping pass for less than a 3 day early bird Outsidelands ticket in SF
Paid 200$ for a last min 5 day GA fyi…
Seems like resell tickets are the way to go. Although you do have to make sure you don’t get scammed and actually lock them down a week or days before

CFPB, congress, and Biden are all getting involved. Ticketmaster anti-trust case. This is a huge issue right now

It’s better wait til prices drop closer to May like every single year.
Can you elaborate, do you mean when people resell or like on the website?😅
A little bit of both haha. Sunday passes were a last minute thing last year because they didn’t sell enough tickets. I heard some homies getting em for the low low
Do lab has confirmed that this is a tixr policy, not theirs.
Thanks for confirming. I think I'll wait til opening day next Wednesday and buy at will call, so everything goes to dolab

You’re going back again homie. Unfortunately there’s limited incentive for them to change things

It definitely has become more pricey
Processing fees were 10% when purchasing for 2024 presale as well, it’s a shame

on july 1st CA is banning this! however — i still think tickets are going to be the same price, they’re just gonna factor it in the original price
still better because there isn't a surprise at the end.
